If your interest is strictly vegan protein and not calories, why not just eat high protein vegan foods like nuts and seeds? Pumpkin seeds have 17g of protein in just 1/4 cup. There are alos plenty of other protein rich vegan sources that are not going to contain any chemicals like the powder you are…

calories are complicated. Nutrition labels and weighing measuring are a must so that you have a really good idea as to what your intake is. As far as burning calories, electronic devices simply cannot be trusted entirely...does it account for your age, sex and weight? if it doesn't then it's garbage. Additionally look at…

High in calories? What are you mixing the veggies with, pure sugar? A veggie smoothie shouldn't contain many calories at all. Maybe add some whey protein powder to the smoothie to help you feel fuller. Both protein and fiber can make you feel fuller longer, especially protein. Vegetables are a staple in dieting and overall…

Look at it this way...you made it to 50. Some people don't and future generations are more likely to miss it too. Global warming, out of control population, dwindling resources, including drinkable water...are all major concerns right now and if they don't get put in check within the next 25 years (according to scientists)…

Off topic but still important... jojo19812018 your cat is a little sweetie. Just remember like you, the cat needs healthy food. Make sure you only use dry food (kibble) as a supplement and feed mostly canned or raw if the cat will tolerate it. Their health is just as important as ours. This Veterinarian is one of many who…

Again that's why i think it should be changed to a more generic motivator. When I first started tracking I was genuinely excited to learn that in just 5 weeks I could potentially lose 22 pounds. Not even close yet my numbers have not changed in terms of exercise and caloric intake...certainly not to the tune of a…

Like I said, I did nothing...no changes... hence the term "arbitrary adjustment".

the protein requirement decreased not increased and again I did nothing...no adjustments to goals or exercise...

If your goal is weight loss then tracking what you eat is as important as tracking your exercise and weight. A lot of people would be surprised to know that they can overestimate calories burned (especially walking) and under estimate calories consumed. I have struggled with weight loss and I am tracking as accurately as…

MFP should be used as a guide only and a way to track what you eat. I have found that using it religiously helps but it isn't truly accurate because everything is based on "average" models and has restrictions that simply don't apply to every size and shape. My suggestion is to use common sense first and then the tracker!…

whole foods, not snacks are the key. I've been reading up on how some calories, like carbs, are treated differently by the body (brain) than say protein. For example, if you decide on a caloric goal of 1600 calories you can have 10 sodas (160 calories each, all sugar water!) or 5 servings of french fries or 30 cups of…

It actually will revert to burning muscle not fat because the body will be convinced that it's not getting enough calories. Burning muscle is dangerous...any weight loss you see on such a major calorie restriction (500-600 calories) will be both water and muscle loss, not fat

That amount of calories is dangerously low. I suspect you want to lose weight quickly and that is the reason why you asked the question. Virtual starvation is both very unhealthy and weight loss becomes unattainable in the long term. If you genuinely want to lose weight it has to be a long term sustained process otherwise…

I just think MFP should change it to read something like "if everyday were like today...you will be well on your way to achieving your goals." I find it frustrating that the numbers they post are highly inaccurate...at least for me even though I am on target and have very few fluctuations in diet and exercise.

With that amount of daily fiber you should have regular bowel movements everyday, especially if you are also drinking enough water (at least 64 oz a day). Trying to diagnose it yourself is not a good thing. If it persists you should see a doctor. Period. Asking a bunch of strangers what the problem might be is silly. If…

Absolutely!! it can be done in much less time. Figure even only losing 1 lb a week, you'd lose 52 lbs in a year! 1 lb. is a slow but very achievable weekly goal. figure out how many calories you need here and then start tracking using MFP. Just make sure you add accurate foods...there are thousands of entries and some are…

I think you know what you need to do. It's hard to lose weight. Period. The ONLY success is in perseverance. it starts with small steps. Try to exercise (or exercise more). A good start is in a swimming pool. Water walking or water calisthenics are easy on the body and it gets you moving...it can also be a social activity…

the natural ways to help alleviate them are as follows Per the world's foremost Naturopathic doctor: Dr. Weil first recommends eliminating coffee (including decaffeinated coffee) as well as all other sources of caffeine from your daily routine. Make sure you are not taking any OTC or prescription drugs that contain it.…

my problem, if you read the whole thread is that food items that are supposed to keep hunger at bay are nt effective. Doesn't matter what I eat or how much, I never seem satisfied. I'm not saying it's a perfect solution and yes I agree eating when your hungry is important it's just that some people opt to go throught the…

Seems to me this person knows it all. I will devote my entire journey of weight loss to this miraculous user. I await further instructions from this absolute god of weight loss.... Actually it's just easier to say "get bent!"....

I don't plan on doing it everyday and I typically only drink 2 cups (500 ml) in the morning and that's it. I just found that the second dose, around noon, did a remarkable job in suppressing my appetite for such a long period of time.

When I had it I was prescribed Nexium which worked like a charm - better than antacids like prevacid. I only took it for about 3 months then when I went off it everything was fine because Nexium also heals. Not eating 3 hours before bed may help as well as a glass of water before bed.

the doctors mostly don't know about this medical trial. but the results are nothing short of miraculous... https://directclinicaltrial.org.uk/

Anyone who believes that starvation mode isn't a real thing is just kidding themselves. All the science proves it is a real thing. Besides, on 1200 calories you can definitely get all the nutrients you require so that's a farse as well. My pain and mobility issues prevent me from burning a few extra hundred calories a day…

I've already gotten the diagnosis but if I can lose 30 lbs in 3 months it's proven it can reduce or erase diabetes. Fortunately this diagnosis has only had me as diabetic within the last year. My blood test results from the previous year were clean albeit close to pre diabetes so I know I've only had the condition for no…

one of my favorites is 1/4 cup of roasted, salted pumpkin seeds and 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt. 31g of protein and only 350 calories. Healthy and nutritious.

Vegetarians can consume dairy, yes? Low or no fat Greek yogurt or cottage cheese is loaded with protein (some varieties boast a whopping 23 grams per cup). Pumpkin seeds, beans, lentils, green peas, quinoa, eggs and nuts are all high in protein. Careful though, nuts and seeds can be high in calories so some moderation may…

stay away from packaged food. these types of foods typically always contain more calories, carbs, fat and sodium. If you drink soda, diet or otherwise, cut it out completely. "Relatively" eating healthy is a sure sign you simply assume you are eating healthy. You need to focus on making your own foods from raw ingredients.…

Why not make a soup with those veggies and a few more. It keeps well in the fridge and is also good in the freezer. Offer some to the "roomies" in exchange for more fridge/freezer space. this is a great veggie soup

Weight loss and maintaining the loss can be very difficult. You really have to ask yourself if what you are eating is necessary. The destruction will come later if you continue to sabotage your weight loss goals. Being overweight or obese can lead to serious health issues as you get older and believe me when I say start…
