  • Worth a shot, but my experience with Anytime was terrible at customizing any membership options. This was back in 2012, so things may have changed. A local gym gives a significant discount if you pay for 6 months, or a year in advance. $240 for a year, $150 for six months, or $30 month-to-month.
  • Are you seeing a therapist? is that part of your hospitalization program? Based on some of your comments in this thread, I think that would be of great benefit to you. Body image and mental health are complicated, more complicated than strangers on an internet forum are equipped to advise you on. Wishing you luck and…

  • Same. Schedule an appointment for a surgical consult if you need it taken out. It's a pretty routine surgery (for most people). Life is so much better with it gone!
  • I beg of you to consider your work environment before doing this. We had a woman who had one for awhile, in a cubicle workplace. I almost lost my mind at the squeaking.
  • Agree with the above. Even when doing planks, I have to be really aware, and make sure I'm not hyperextending my elbows.
  • If you are doing flow style yoga (which I would guess you are, as most fitness yoga is flow style), then it should be a slight cardio workout itself, as you move(flow) somewhat rapidly between poses
  • "Obama Care"? Must have missed anyone mentioning that. Also must have missed the subsidized gym membership section when I read the ACA. :D No Obama care discounts, work discounts, student discounts, I pay $34/month, plus $10 for unlimited group classes. Gym has tons of equipment, really nice locker rooms, classes, and a…
  • Went to a Body Pump class at my new gym last night. I had never done that workout before, and was very nervous. Everyone was incredibly nice, from the instructor to the other participants, helping me get set up and briefly demonstrating all of the moves in the "track" before we did it, so I was able to kind of keep up. I…
  • Get out of the house during the day. Being alone for 10 hours a day, not working, would make me lose my mind very quickly! Even just taking a book to a coffee shop for a few hours, and being around other people may help.
  • There are lots of threads on this if you search the boards. Personal Opinion? Not for me. I think it can get too group-think oriented, and it has the potential to cause a lot of injuries if you happen to have a negligent instructor/gym. Its also pretty expensive. Counter point? Some people seem to really like the sense of…
  • In the winter, I make a batch of steel cut oats on Sunday nights (make sure to add salt to the water), portion them out for each day. Each morning I add 1/3 cup of almond milk, cinnamon and dried cranberries. Once I get to work, I heat it up in the microwave. I really enjoy them and they are easy and cheap, but if you…
  • I think by asking strangers on the internet, you already know the answer. He's being controlling, rude, and behaving like a child. Being supportive would be helping you find ways to increase or stretch your budget, or explaining to you why he feels like preservatives are so bad for your health, and what his alternative…
  • A lot of people still do Hatha yoga. Yoga studios still offer many meditative and Hatha style classes. Gyms tend to only offer workout style yoga, which makes sense for the environment/audience.
  • I love zucchini noodles. The last time I made them I sautéed with some cherry tomatoes, top with some shaved parmesan, and grilled chicken. Very tasty.
  • Down 10 pounds by my birthday, which is 100 days from now.
  • Depends on the type of yoga. I'm not familiar with the DVD you are referring, so I am not commenting on that specific program. The two most common types of yoga are Hatha and Vinyasa. Generally Hatha yoga is more stretching and meditation focused, while Vinyasa (sometimes called 'power' or 'flow' yoga) has more cardio…
  • Anything with zero or <5 calories. Coffee, water, tea, diet soda, spices.
  • I use BlueApron, similar to Hello Fresh. As one of the posters above suggested, I take the three meals that week and input them into the recipe builder. You can decide how many servings you'll divide each food into and set that in the recipe builder.
  • Add me to this one as well! I started at an 18, got down to a comfortable 12, and crept back up to a snug 12, comfortable 14. Working on getting back to that nice 12 size again!
  • Yeah, I would not be keeping these people in my life. OP, I am 5'9", and I am 195. My current goal weight is 160, based on BMI ranges. When I was at my skinniest last year at 183, I had several people call me skinny, weighing 50 more pounds than you. 125 at that height is right at the cusp of being underweight. Anywhere…
  • Oh my gosh yes. Bought this after I had heard people on here rave about it. Had a few bites, and threw it away. Chalky, icey, grossness. Yuck.
  • This is so annoying!!! Happens to me all the time.
  • Yogurt, particularly greek and Icelandic style. I disliked yogurt growing up, it was a weird consistency, and never liked the flavor that much, and the fruit chunks always had strange texture to me. Turns out, I love greek yogurt. I mostly stick to plain still, but I have a handful of flavors I enjoy now. It's filling and…
  • I went to yoga last night, even though all afternoon I was coming up with reasons not to go.
  • I think the cooking from frozen is what is making it watery, I would recommend thawing before cooking. I buy frozen tilapia and salmon from Sam's/Costco. I usually move a filet or two to the refrigerator before work in the morning, so it's thawed by the time I get home to make dinner. Tilapia is very good when baked with a…

  • Agreed!!! This is the best response on this thread. I've been to many many weddings in the last few years, and EVERY bride has looked fantastic, regardless of weight/shape/size. We are there to celebrate you and your spouse, and have a great time celebrating the two of you!
  • It's a small amount of blood that they take for labs, but were you nervous at all about the procedure? Sometimes having your blood pressure elevated, and then dropping dramatically after the draw can throw your body for a loop. If you aren't feeling well, take it easy, and make sure you are hydrating.
  • Same as many of the posters above, I had a very uneventful surgery and recovery. The majority of my weightloss came after having mine removed. I had mine removed via laparoscope, I had one puncture wound, and a tiny incision that is actually fully within my belly button (it's been 2.5 years and I can barely see a scar). I…
  • Cat/cow, child's pose (modification that feels amazing on my neck is to bring your palms together in front of you, then bring them to the back of your neck, I believe it's called "reverse hands"?), and savasana (modification that feels great for me is to put a block under your lower back).
  • I'm so ready for spring weather to be here!! With the cold and dark, winter makes me want to hibernate. I can't wait to be able to soak up some sunshine after work again!
