Honestly, this is probably the best advice you can be given. Food is nutrition, you do know that right? P.S. If you truly love to run then keep doing the exercise you enjoy. Just eat more to make sure you are giving your body adequate nutrition.

A lot of people say it is one gram per pound of body weight because it is easier to calculate. It is actually one gram per pound of muscle you have on your body. You don't the extra for your body fat. Weight - body fat % = daily protein goal. For the average normal person anyway.

In many cases the loose skin is honestly unavoidable. Yes, losing slowly will help out a lot though. If you lose to fast the skin has no time to even try and adapt. Just lose the weight responsibly to be healthy and don't worry about it. Being fat is worse then having some loose skin.
