  • You are sooo amazing and inspirational. I also am going for 100 lbs. I am 52 lbs down and can't wait to get to that wonderful 100 lbs lost!!! Keep up the amazing work. I know you will keep it all off! Congrats!
  • Thank you!!!!
  • Could someone please tell me what NSV means? I keep seeing it... know it has to be something pretty obvious... I'm just not getting it ;)
  • The only evidence I have are the tests my doctor did with me before and after doing the standard process 21 day cleanse. Of course I also cut most pesticides out of my diet and reduced my exposure to aluminum (found in all anti-perspirants). So cause and effect can be questioned. I don't have all the answers.... but I can…
  • Reset metabolism. Remove toxins including pesticides and heavy metals.
  • Nice change of subject. Just because a child is special ed does not mean they are on meds.
  • Thank you! I will check it out!
  • When you speak of the entire medical profession you must be speaking of Western medicine (which I put very little faith in.) Most Eastern philosophies believe and encourage the occasional fast/cleanse. I would much rather treat the problem than deal with the symptoms. : )
  • If you have a smart phone there are a couple of good apps to keep track of the cycle (and weight)... the one I use is mycalendar.
  • WOW! I just really want to say KUDOS to everyone on here. 1. For recognizing the problems/ issues/ behaviors (innate and learned) that have caused problems. 2. In recognizing the problems etc. taking steps forward to get healthy and happy (both very difficult to do when depressed/ dealing with chemical imbalances and the…
  • Oh...I'm a middle school teacher.... crazy by default! But honestly what is the alternative? Normal??? F%&$ that! Normal is boring! Plus crazy usually gets better drugs (just kidding! I am thankful to finally be off all anit-depresents and only on anti-anxiety once in a blue moon!)
  • I have major depressive disorder and was, at one point, incorrectly diagnosed bi-polar. I also have dealt with an unhealthy relationship with food (haven't we all). I used food to gain weight to push people away... afterall who really wants to date the fat chick, or who wants to talk to or be friends with the fat girl. My…
  • I usually do a hard liquor (whiskey is the poison of choice) and a diet soda... but my Homeopathic doctor wants me to avoid all pop for a while (I am also having to go dairy free {NO CHEESE :( for a while}) So this weekend, faced with no soda pop I made sugar free jello shots with vodka. Yummy! Just have to be careful you…
  • Us Low Carbers get something that you low cal/ low fat people are never allowed... FAT! We get the whole foods... Cheese, butter, steak, bacon, eggs, sour cream... real food! Occassionaly I do miss the bread and rice... but then I just go make a nice juicy steak or some veggies covered in butter and the craving goes away!…
  • I am 5'2" (5'3" on a good day ;) My goal weight is currently 130-140 though I am going to re-evaluate when I hit 150. I am big boned and curvy and I want to keep my curves. : ) Looking to be healthy and like my body! So it is more about my measurements, how I look, and how I feel as opposed to the number on the scale.
  • Congratulations! You are amazing! What an inspiration to those of us who are going through our journey to healthy lifestyles! Way to go!!

  • I also have the same problem... all from fruit. I try (key word *try*) to eat half as much fruit as veggies every day. This helps keep things in proportion. Also... sugar from fruit (in my opinion) is different from added sugar in food. Stick with the all natural and don't let that sugar number bother you unless you get to…
  • I do a little of both. I haven't been able to exercise as much as I want to (recently screwed up my achilles tendons from wearing flip flops at work), but I am bringing the exercise in as I can. Start small... I have one friend on here who gets an amazing burn from running in place every day. That is something any of us…
  • I make spaghetti or soups in bulk, freeze in single serving baggies, and use those with fresh salad / veggies for lunch or a quick dinner!
  • I TOTALY feel your pain. I kinda see a diference some days. I've lost 50 lbs in the last 2 years, some clothes fit better, and I've gone down a size, but still most of the time I look in the mirror or at pics and I don't see a difference. It is really discouraging at times. But I know if I keep it up, I will continue to…
  • I regularly (1-2 a year) do a juice fast or a colon cleanse. Many cultures utilize fasting. The first 2-3 days are the hardest, and headaches are a frequent problem because you are detoxing. I generally don't do a fast for more than a week. But a fast or cleanse should NEVER be used for weight loss. Your body goes into…
  • Congratulations! Keep up the good work! You can do it!
  • I always aim to go over in my protein and fiber. Those are good for you : )
  • I utilize cheese, yogurt, milk, or peanut butter to help bump up my calories. Good luck!
  • Congrats!

  • I like the sound of 100 miles in 100 days (but I like the 25lbs even better!) It's on! -Sarah
  • I never do. I also have a hard time eating my minimum calories a lot because I'm eating so many fruits and veggies. If I hit a plateau I will eat more, but until that happens I'm NOT eating my workout calories! : )
  • I wrote an article about my fears of saggy skin. You might find it helpful. My brother lost about 100lbs 9 years ago and still has saggy skin. My fiance lost 70 lbs but by doing weight training he eliminated all saggy skin, you'd never know he was overweight. Hope this helps : ) My article:…
