I am also 5'3" (on a good day ;) ). My goal weight is 140. My highest was about 240 (probably more, but that's where I stopped jumping on the scale!). Best of luck to us both! We've got this!!! :)

I wish there were an option for net carbs (carb minus fiber) for us low carbers! I still try to be mindful of my calories, but have it set at 1500 and I don't worry if I go over... it is those pesky carbs we have to worry about. And it is much more convents to use MFP's platform than try to recreate the wheel and try to…

Take a self defense class. I used to teach women's street self defense and it was amazing. A weapon can always be used against you. The most important weapons you have are your body parts (arms, fingers, teeth, knee, feet, etc!)

For Thanksgiving and Christmas I allow myself to indulge a bit while minding my portion size, and paying attention as I eat. I have found that I can mindlessly eat foods without even enjoying them because my attention is elsewhere. So when it is something I really want (a rich desert) I take a small piece and then SAVOR…

Like everyone else said, it is water. I know that if I weight myself the morning after an intense strength workout (and all 4 days of strength training are intense) my weight will be higher than if I weigh myself after a night or 2 off. Don't get discouraged. Especially after a few weeks. Now if you don't see any results…

That explains EVERYTHING! And to think, I've been doing it wrong this whole time!!!!

Yup. And I have read similar responses when people actually post about doing cleanses or something that isn't mainstream. Once again, a flippant response.

 Just don't venture too far from a bathroom!

You do get that the OP is being facetious don't you?! fa·ce·tious /fəˈsēSHəs/ adjective: facetious 1. treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humor; flippant. synonyms: flippant, flip, glib, frivolous, tongue-in-cheek, ironic, sardonic, joking, jokey, jocular, playful, sportive, teasing, mischievous; More…

Thanks for making me cry at work!!!! ::Sniff:: Absolutely beautiful! Your hard work really paid off! I am adding you to my list of Motivating people!! Congratulations!

::hugs:: This sounds like me the last 2 years. Scale going all over the place even when I am counting EVERY SINGLE F****** calorie and working my butt off. Plus the missing family and friends is really hard (I lived in another state for 2 years and had to go an entire year without seeing anyone from home. Talk about…

Been there, done that, bought the tee shirt, returned the tee shirt for a bigger size, then did it again. Many of us struggle with this. And rarely do we like to admit it to ourselves, let alone others. My problem is that my depression and food cycles are an epic disaster. I start feeling depressed/ crappy and start…

Hmm... I was under the impression that the brownie method was more effective... but you have to have the frosting on the brownies, or it is a total waste of effort.

Amazing dedication and follow through! Best of luck as you continue growing healthier and happier! :)

I HATE spending money. Especially on clothes when I am trying to lose weight. My BF took my to ****'s Sporting goods where I ended up spending $60 ::GASP:: on an Under Armor bra. It was a 38DD and is amazingly supportive. It has "modesty" panels that can be removed or inserted at will (I leave them in, because... well you…

I haven't lost enough for that to be an issue. I started out around 240-250 and am now at 207. The lowest I have been is 190. I am hoping to reach 140-150. So far no problems, but I still have a long way to go! I am also lifting weights with my boyfriend, so I am hoping that that will help. (He had lost 70 lbs in a short…

New trainer for sure. There is NOTHING WRONG with working to build muscle and try to lose weight at the same time. Based on what little I know, (information given to me by trainers) you shouldn't work out the same parts of your body multiple days in a row especially if you are pushing your limits to increase muscle mass.…

I am crossing my fingers that it isn't going to be an issue.... :)

What type of foods are you eating? All calories are not created equal. For instance, if I just log calories, I find that I can eat 1800 a day and still be hungry. But if I watch my carb intake and eat more whole foods, my calorie amount tends to be much lower and I am not hungry. :)

31 :) But thank you!

Meats, cheese, high fat dairy, no added sugars, watch the fruits (ohh bananas and strawberries... I hope I can eat you again!), and no starchy veggies! :)

Let's do it! And love the beardie!!!

When I hit 140 (150) {final goal weight to be determined as I get closer...all depends on muscle, how i feel, and what i look like...would like to hit size 8 so whatever weight that is will help define the finish line} I plan on a mini makeover. I will have my hair professionally styled and colored. I am currently a box…

Patience! You didn't gain all this weight in a short time, so we can't expect to lose it in a short time. I completly understand how frusterating it is to see that scale drop, and drop, and drop, and then stop. My numbers didn't really change for 3 months... Just keep doing what you are doing. The number will go down and…
