  • General rule of thumb: Weights change your shape. Cardio changes your size. So, depends what you want. ;)
  • One of my favorites is iced fruity green tea - refreshing and thirst-quenching! I'm curious about the responses to this question too... I began drinking watered-down Powerade to up my hydration, but now I dislike plain water.... but I don't want to drink too much artificial sweetener...
  • hey :) Don't lose heart! We're human, and we fail. Sometimes, many times. Allow yourself that. Remember that this is a learning process, and know that you'll make mistakes. HOWEVER, learn from the mistakes. Identify and avoid the triggers. Focus on creating new good habits, a new lifestyle, new things that bring you joy -…
  • Whenever I eat refined sugars, I get monstrous cravings. I know it's tough, but try cutting those out for 2-3 days, and see if afterward you're more satisfied with other foods. ;)
  • Been there :( The worst thing for me is that if I go the TINIEST bit over my calorie goal, all hell breaks loose and I'm an eating machine... my irrational head says I've already blown it. Try drinking LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of tea/water. Also, I find that having a high-protein meal later in the day helps. I eat carbs in…
  • Dunkin Donuts is a weakness of mine.... :) Usually I just stop for quick break in the afternoon for a small black coffee + caramel. And I bring my own snack. Kudos to you for the temptation resistance win! :D
  • I did it and loved it. ;) It's worth a try! Afterward, it's amazing to be free of cravings and feel totally clean inside.
  • I set my Pandora station to Avicii/Nicky Romero. My latest favorite is Calabria 2008, by Enur ft. Natasja. ;)
  • Chiptole. Oh my gawd Chipotle is my lyyyfe....
  • I found this to be a VERY interesting post: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/BombshellPhoenix/view/my-1200-calorie-story-705482
  • I was having the same problem, so I researched ways to boost my metabolism, in addition to eating a calorie deficit and continuing to exercise. - Temporary Calorie Increase - by 200-400 calories for 2-4 days - tricks your body into believing food is abundant, sheds weight. Also, it's important to make sure you're getting…
  • Why not try the whole 3 miles, but in segments? 1.5 miles, brief, brisk walk. 1 more mile, walk again. Last .5...And DONE! PS - You'll get there. ;) Patience, grasshopper!
  • I'm not sure what you're looking for...? As long as you're eating healthily and providing your body with all the nutrients it needs, you're fine! Let your body be what it is. Take care of it. You are your own kind of beautiful. But here's a link anyway...…
  • Almost like what msurads06 said, I recently discovered powdered peanut butter - fewer calories (they've extracted the oil/fat), concentrated protein. It's on Amazon. :) I bet it would taste amazing mixed with some cocoa powder!…
  • Jillian Michaels IS a great option - she also has a version of yoga that incorporates more movement, and her Killer Buns and Thighs, 6-Week 6-Pack, and No More Trouble Zones DVDs are also winners in my book. :)
  • Just a suggestion - I found that when I was doing all body-weight training (think Jillian Michaels DVDs) I saw toning but no weight loss. Now that I've incorporated regular moderate cardio (1.5 - 2 mile runs) I'm seeing a huge difference!
  • Mix some ground golden flax seed into those smoothies. ;)

  • My friends ask my why I don't have tattoos. I ask them, "Have you ever seen a Corvette with bumper stickers?"
  • Thank you for this post. :) Much to the chagrin of my over-achieving inner perfectionist, I am finding that changing my lifestyle and habits will not be an overnight transformation! But I am learning to love myself, to be kind to myself, be patient with myself, and I am realizing that time + consistence = permanence. Thank…
  • I'm the same way! But it's true. I was on Fuhrman's Eat to Live Diet for a year. The first few days off sugar were killer - monster cravings and terrible headaches. After that (and NO CHEATING) my body gradually lost interest in processed sugars, and I wasn't tempted by the sweets I saw others eating. I learned the feeling…
  • Muscle weighs more than fat. If you're replacing your body's fat with muscle, you'll have a denser, leaner, but heavier body, and that's ok!! The number on the scale is just a number. It tells you nothing about how you look or how you feel. If you like what you're seeing and how you're feeling, you're doing it right. ;D
  • 1) 20's 2) 138 3) SC 4) usually moderate 5) usually 3+ times/week 6) Always 6) Lunch/Dinner. 7) 3 meals + 1 snack 8) as much as I remember... 6-8 glasses 9) water. or I just get busy doing something else.
