I used it for about 2 months. I had NO appetite for the first week or two (yay!), and lost about 5 lbs.... the medication lost effectiveness (my binges came back as did the weight) after that and instead I noticed worsening side effects (sleepiness, extreme tingling in hands). Best wishes!

I was juicing mostly kale, ginger, cucumbers and then one piece of fruit (apple usually) or beets for sweetness. Couldn't find any 'reason' for the cold sore outbreaks related to juicing in any research I did, but it sure did happen to me :(

Soaking in milk gets the 'gamey' taste out and tenderizes the meat. I use buttermilk and only buy the calf liver, but cook it the way others mentioned (either in bacon fat or floured and salt and pepper). The caramelized onions are a must :) p.s. If you use calf liver, you only have to soak it about an hour (I take it…

Love this idea, especially since I most often eat peanut butter on pancakes and the thinner consistency would help it spread (or drizzle) without tearing up the pancakes. Thanks!

Yeah, I really liked this one today :) (sweat)

I did 'Sweat' today and it felt like a real workout :) I burned 161 according to my HRM (compared to 53 for lower body and 33 for upper body; this is MUCH better!)

Hi, I'd say definitely eat back exercise calories if you are hungry! Some days I seem fine, but other days I'm ravenous. I'm trying to make a LIFESTYLE change, too, this time around so am trying to just 'move on' after a binge.... AND figure out what triggers got me there. As to the calorie estimates, they were way off for…

Thank you!

I agree it seems to need a 'companion' workout. I'm in the second week of Jillian's 6 pack 6 week thing, but once I finish that I'm going to re-start JNL Fusion along with the PiYO.

This cracked me up!!

My birthday is next week and I've already planned to have grilled steak and snow crab legs (at home) and make a 13 layer fudge cake to celebrate ;) I'm going to take the rest of the cake to my neighbor after me and my boyfriend have birthday dinner!

Just finished upper body, too. Only 33 calories, ugh! I do wonder why the times are different in the booklet. Like yesterday I think said 25 mins and it was under 20, etc. Hoping to get stronger anyway :)
-
I wore mine today (20 mins, Lower Body Define) and only burned 53 calories ... it was a really short workout, though.
-
I did the lower body (define) today, and only burned 53 calories according to my HRM... I'm looking forward to getting more 'used to' the program so I can commit more fully to the moves. I spent half the time craning my head up to look at what they were doing  I'm vaguely following the meal plan, but mostly still…

Build your menus around foods you ENJOY :) Life is too short to eat crappy food! Yesterday, I had roasted duck w/duck giblet couscous... I LOVE food and will buy groceries around what I want or crave that week. For instance, last week I was wanting avocados and black olives. You could also look at folks' diaries for ideas.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing, very inspirational :)

I agree about competing against yourself! Last time I completed the C25K, then made the mistake of looking up 'average' running speeds... set out on the trail and IMMEDIATELY injured myself trying to go that fast :( By the time I finished with therapists for my leg, I was over it and JUST started back 2 weeks ago (after…

Perfect combo! I had mine w/roast duck and as much as I was looking forward to that duck, these outshined the protein ;)

This cracked me up

I should note, I decreased the syrup and oil because I didn't have enough calories left for the day, and it still came out DELICIOUS :) So, feel free to play around w/the quantities.

I just finished Day 1, the alignment thing. I can tell this will be a challenge for me! I've not done much yoga or pilates, so it's all new to me. I'm glad they started off this way, so I can see what my body SHOULD be doing :)
-
You will be glad you did! I couldn't get over how amazing they were lol... I was literally putting 'em on Facebook, texting my family, etc with the recipe minutes after I tasted them. I DID have the baby brussels sprouts I got from the Amish market past weekend, so maybe that had something to do with it, but the overall…

Ohhhh, good to know! I'll have to try that one next grocery run :)

Since they only made the BEST ICE CREAM EVER for one year (like 1999, R.I.P. Holy Cannoli), my next favorite choices are: *Chocolate Fudge Brownie *New York Super Fudge Chunk *any of the newer Core ones (Hazed & Confused, Salted Caramel being the best of those) Love that the Fudge Brownie comes in that teeny tiny serving…

Thanks for the helpful responses! I had no idea I was using the wrong numbers on that site :(

I LOVED Manhattan and the huge (and cheap) pizza slices... must have :) You asked for what foods to avoid, and unfortunately I love ALL foods, but agree wholeheartedly with other posters to avoid the chain restaurants. Just ewww. Yelp is a great idea! I have found the coolest places using that app. Have fun! My daughter is…

Hi, I'm 5'0" and currently at 140 (Goal is 100). I'll be 46 years old next week. I put accurate info into the TDEE calculator, including 5 x a week exercise. I used: http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/
-
Thanks, I did put that I exercise 5 days a week (on the TDEE site) and that I was moderately active on the MFP. I agree about the experiment thing... I'm going to keep tweaking. I just KNOW the night binging sucks for me because it defeats all the progress I make during the day, blah :(
-
I like the idea of finding an activity to replace the eating... I used to crochet, maybe I'll dig that stuff out and keep it by the bed. Happy 4th to you!

Sorry to hear you've had this mess for 15 years, but glad to know I'm not the only one... I agree about the opposite effect in meds. Nyquil, for instance, made me stay awake like 36 hours! I do try to go down the 'healthy' path first. For instance, last night I started with applesauce and whole grain biscuits... but it…
