  • I bring a book or my iPad and have myself a Me Party! (See link below to my favorite Muppets song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpE8CdH6fdE (Sorry, i wish I knew how to link to this better!)
  • One more note: just don't be like me and gain any of it back!!! Stick with it for the long haul, because it seems harder to lose it the 2nd time, now that I goofed off all summer and lost my wind!
  • Definitely POSSIBLE: Go for it! I almost did it last year: last August, I started out at 193 lbs and was down to 163 by March! In terms of size, I went from a 16 down to 12 (closer to an 11 if they made such a size: 10's were too tight, but 12's were too loose). I will say I do like the idea of monitoring how my clothes…
  • That's why I love my Fitbit (or any other activity tracker you can get a hold of). It tracks ALL activity throughout the day (and night) and adjusts my calories accordingly. If I go work out at the gym for an hour, but then sit around on my butt for the rest of the day, it knows it! If I don't go to the gym, but run my…

  • Were you always overweight? No, I used to be a perfectly healthy weight: definitely not skinny, but not overweight either. Did you "let yourself go"? Yes. Partially because other things became a higher priority (my kids and other important things in life), but partially, because I did not realize my metabolism was slowing…
  • Tostitos Hint of Lime Tortilla chips. 6 chips = 150 calories. I'm still in mourning over the loss of this snack... :(
  • I lost between 25 & 28 pounds before people started really noticing/commenting. Then I stopped losing: haha! But I will say, it was around the same time that I first started buying new clothes because the old ones were far too loose/frumpy-looking on me. I also got a new hairstyle for the new me. Now EVERYONE…
  • I have logged every single day (including holidays) for 6 months now... I can't say it's all healthy though! And I do eat ALOT, comparatively... But it's only visible to MFP friends, so add me if you like!
  • I LOVED reading this story and seeing the pictures; awesome job!!!!! Thanks for sharing your journey and inspiring! :)
  • THIS is me! And I'm so glad I'm not alone with the shock of how quickly calories can add up! I'm still not where I need to be when it comes to food choices, but I'm nowhere near as bad as I used to be!!! And at least now when I over-eat, I understand exactly what I'm doing... I had no idea until August when I got into MFP…
  • During a camping trip last week at Tarague Beach, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Hafa Adai!!!
  • What a difference! Great job, keep it up! :)
  • ^^^^This, maybe get you a fitbit [/quote] Agreed! A Fitbit will track what you're REALLY doing physically. LOVE mine!
  • I LOVE to bake!!! And LOVE eating it! My healthy alternative? Occasionally bake something fantastically delicious, enjoy one nice portion and then send the rest to work with my husband to give to his co-workers! :) But NEVER keep it around. :) Another idea that my friend does, if you can: enjoy one portion and then freeze…
  • I was kind of thinking the same thing lately... I had the flu and was super inactive for a few days recovering... Well, it kept subtracting calories BELOW my BMR! And eating below my BMR is not something I ever wish to do, but especially not when I need to get re-charged... So then a few days later, I forgot to wear it all…

  • My method is more twisted... if it didn't really taste that great, I'll pick the one with the lowest calories, but if it tasted AWESOME, I'll pick the one with the highest calories possible because I know it HAD to be bad for me... Surprisingly, it seems to be working for me too: Just call me the Food Whisperer!!!
  • Because your Saturday night is actually my Sunday morning in Guam. :)
  • We have pizza at least once every week: I just "try" to stick to no more than 2 slices, usually pepperoni only just because it's easier to count/track. And I try to have a spinach salad or something else green with it... But if you get really motivated, check out the "Amazing Whole Wheat Pizza Crust" recipe on…
  • I'm with you: NOTHING exciting enough to be embarrassed about around here either! But I will confess to a freakish habit of always vacuuming under my couch and in between the cushions before I get on an airplane with my husband. I just can't stand the thought of anyone else finding that madness under there if neither of us…
  • I actually just went to the Apple iTunes store and typed in "workout" and listened to a bunch of previews. Then I picked a few good ones to download. I think the ones I picked were from an iTunes Essentials Workout Playlist, but another one I like is "Top 40 Hits Remixed" Power Music Workout... For some reason I can't…
  • I know what you mean!!! I thought my 19 lbs lost would look much better than it actually does. But instead of focusing on that for too long, I try to focus all my energy on how I FEEL! And I feel great! So much better... at least 4 years younger in energy... So I cross my fingers and hope that the rest works itself out!…
  • Is it too late to vote? ENDO all the way! Because I'm a bigger girl myself but I still want to feel small/protected in the arms of a big beefy man! But.... I married an ecto (who i can outweigh, out-eat, out-run any day) because his heart outweighed his physique. So go figure!
  • Sorry, I just had to Google a conversion calculator to translate all the kilograms for me (I'm AWFUL at math, LOL)... so 22 kg is AWESOME!!! If you did it once, you can do it again, I know.... If you want more friends, add me! I'd love to hear how it works out...I'm very afraid of getting stuck like that myself eventually…
  • You said you were eating 1,700 calories: were you losing weight at that level? I myself am NOT a fan of eating below BMR. I was told the same thing a couple years ago (1,200 calorie diet) and it lasted less than a week (I too get super irritable when I haven't eaten much). My thought: if it's not sustainable long-term…
  • Open diary, but warning: I eat a lot compared to some girls on here! Between 1,700 and 2,200 calories depending on how active I was. And I'm in desperate need of real nutrition/cooking training! But somehow I've still lost 17 of 40+ pounds, so add me if you're interested!
  • Am I the only one here who never really gets random friend requests? Maybe 2 in the past 65 days of logging in. I feel so un-cool! ;)
  • This is one of the only things in life that I will ALWAYS lie about. When it comes to IDs, I always instinctively say I'm 10 lbs under what I really am because I know that's too close for them to call me out on and i cant bare to see the reality in print. Whether its true or not, somehow putting it on the ID makes it…
  • LOVE that feeling, nice job!
