  • You look AMAZING! Great job! (And what a great wedding present to yourself and I'm sure your fiance doesn't mind either)
  • I tell the people I am close with. Anyone that I am spending time with...basically anyone that is going to see me whip out my food weighing scale, measuring cup and measuring spoons at mealtime! I tell them in advance so I don't have to read the expression on their faces when I do that. I don't have that far to go - not to…
  • mixed greens, red onion, grilled leftover chicken from last nights dinner (or a tuna packet) something crunchy (carrots, bell peppers, or celery if I'm out of everything else!) garbanzo beans, sometimes cuke or tomato, either Newman's Own light balsamic vinegrette, light italian, or Ken's light vidalia onion. I use 1 or 2…

  • This is so great! The more people you have in your corner wanting you to succeed, the better! We started a walking club at work, we would all start out at the parking lot and then those that want to walk do that, those that want to run do that. I started out walking with the group - now over a year later I run 3 miles - 3x…
  • same here with the MFP addiction! I wish you luck - your head sounds like its in the right place and thats the first step!
  • I love the forums and have started to swap my face book addiction to a MFP addiction so get in touch add me as a friend and let’s do this.....] -me too!!!
  • I'm only doing the 30 Day Shred 2x a week (I run other days) and I am already seeing muscle tone and definition. It's short but sweaty, and I can never say "oh I don't have the time" since it's only 20-ish minutes and I take longer than that in the morning to decide what to wear!!! Also, Self Magazine (prob. most of the…
  • I usually do either the Lean Cusine steamer bag or the Healthy Choice steamer meals. Have it with mixed greens, lo-cal / low fat dressing and I throw in some crunchy vegetable like cucumber or bell pepper. The sodium is quite high in some of those meals, but in general I do not salt much of anything so for me its not a…
  • I'm on here all the time since I started...not that it's been that long (going on week 2 now) and I should def. be in bed right now, but apparently I am obsessed with this site. Add me as a friend if you want. I'm prob. not going to have too many friends on here (hell, I only have about 40 on facebook!) and I just want a…
  • absolutely love this feature! I'm like oohh...what can I scan? Yeah, so I paid for the expensive smartphone, but skimp and by generic brands of food sometimes (the ones where I know it doesn't make a difference) and those are often not in the scanner, but still...it's so fun!!!
  • Hiya! Feel free to add me as a friend if you want to! Congratulations on taking the first step to a better you. (gosh that sounds corny, but I really mean it!) I'm starving too usually - at least so far. That will change eventually...for me its starting to get better already once your body adjusts to the change-night time…
  • I think if you feel that weighing yourself every day will get you down then don't do it. I weigh myself every day to see if there is the slightest change either way. If negative I'm like yay, but if I've gained then it does kind of make me sad. Rule of thumb is once a week. I think thats the best because it does fluctuate…
  • thanks friends! maybe I will make a suggestion on the "how can we make MFP better?" blog. I don't think good sugars from friuts should be counted the same as baddies from junk food either. Cutting down on processed foods - thats a good one too. I'm going to eat some of my watermellon tomorrow! Can't wait! See you soon red…
  • great job! In your after picture, I know how small that space is where you were standing on the boat and you had room to spare! So inspiring to hear your story, I really am so proud of the determination and persistance I find on this site. keep up the good work! A clean bill of health is truly an invaluable gift and you…
  • just get back on the horse sista - it will happen but you have to MAKE it! I know what you mean about not seeing any results...the scale is moving slightly for me but I look in the mirror and all I see is that my boobs got smaller (great! (sarcastic) because I don't have anything to spare!!!) I feel like I have been…

  • I got my food weighing scale at Bed Bath and Beyond - it does ounces and grams - I think it was only $25 or so and then they always do that 20% off coupon.. I had no idea what 3 and 4 oz. of meat looked like before I got it. (Well, now I know that it looks like half as much as what I would usually eat!)
  • Newmann's Light Balsamic dressing is the BEST! Thanks for the idea!
  • A lot of places in California have calorie counts on their menus now. Not sure if Disneyland will or not. A resistance band is a great tool - lightweight and easy to pack. Check out some fitness magazine websites for workouts you can print to take with you and do in the hotel room. You WILL be walking alot and may not have…
  • Your story is an inspiring one! I have been trying to help a friend that was almost 500 pounds and while he was living with us for 5 months (and eating the healthy stuff I bought and working out) he lost about 60 pounds. But now living on his own, he looks like he is creeping up there again. I don't know what it will take…
  • I just started last week and I love this thing...not on here once a day...more like all day long usually! It is the reality check that I needed. I don't have any friends yet, but def. looking for some more motivated people. Let's do this thing!!!
