• Way to go! You're doing a great job and you look fantastic!
• I dunno much about starvation mode, but I think it's probably all relative. I think if someone has a higher body fat %, it'll make use of that in cases of severe calorie deficit. So far in my experience, I've had no problem with having a calorie deficit combined with burned calories from exercise. I figure my body will let…
• OMG, I'm right there with you on that one! The birthday present I told people I want is to go to the Chinese buffet and eat myself into a blissful nap!
• 1. Beer during the weekdays (I'll still tilt a few during the weekend) 2. Mindless eating (No more mowing through a box of Cheez-its or eating a dozen fast-food burgers) 3. Being lazy (All the extra energy makes it hard for me to want to sit around)
• http://www.girlswithmuscle.com/ Might be worth a look. It seems to be a site for female bodybuilding. That's where I snagged that Tina Miller pic from, although I already knew about her. ;)
•
I wasn't saying you were being rude BTW  I was just responding saying that my opinion is that while I agree that she's not gone too far, I do not wish to have that much muscle. Me saying I do not wish to have that much = my opinion, not rude. Somebody saying any of the examples given in the original post…
• Gotcha. I couldn't agree more. :)
• This is a perfect opportunity to give an example of what's rude and what's just opinion. I wouldn't say she's taken to the extreme, but I wouldn't like to be that big personally. She obviously loves what she does though and works very hard to get there. More power to her!! :drinker:
I don't see how that was rude,…
• I like those single serving flavor packets of Hawaiian punch that they sell for around a buck a box. No sugar or sodium, the dye isn't staining (Crystal Light stains like nobody's business, and makes me wonder what it's doing to my insides), and you don't need nearly as much powder as other stuff.
• IMO, even female bodybuilders can look great if its balanced and not taken to the extreme!
• I don't mind the gym, but definitely prefer working out at home. For me, it eliminates the excuses "I don't have time to go over to the gym", or "my gym clothes fit me like a sausage casing." I invested in a good recumbent stationary bike and a quality set of weights (the things I most commonly used at the gym), and I love…
• Substitute "run" for something else, and yeah I would compete. In spite of not being a very competitive person when it comes to sports and stuff like this, I do find I try a bit harder when my performance is being measured against others; it's like a free personal trainer!
• When I'm getting my "official" weight, yes to above and mostly nude (some call it "Porky Pigging it). I'll weight myself dressed from time to time just to see if my water weight fluctuated, or how heavy a meal was... Just for curiosity sake.
• In my heyday, I could probably knock out 5500 calories in one sitting... But then again, my appetite has been a thing that legends are based on! Seriously though, it's sound advice!
• Too much of anything isn't good for you, and sodium is an issue because it's easy to really over-do it when there is so much of it in process foods. If someone eats mainly process foods, or eats at a chain restaurant, they can easily consume 4000+ mg a day!
• Table salt is Sodium Chloride (NaCl) with some added Iodine to keep people from getting goiters. Sea salt is 98-99% Sodium Chloride, with some other trace minerals. Basically, there isn't much difference between the two, save the iodine and taste preference.
• I appreciate the responses to this question! This eating style is one that I've had for years, and it worked fine for me when I was more active and exercising-- it certainly doesn't work anymore. Do breakfast drinks like slim fast help at all, do I need something with more substance?
• Awesome! I find it motivating for me reaching my goal eventually! Any sage advice?
• Does it make any difference in how much water one drinks in a given sitting? I usually get my water in 16 oz increments throughout the day, but I drink those servings pretty fast.
• How about the little sugar free flavor packets, like the lemonade ones? I like to drink those from time to time, but didn't know if the additives reduced the absorption of water.
• When it comes to caffeinated beverages, what is the amount of water to drink to counter the diuretic effect?
• Is there a rule of thumb for telling which beverages count?
• Thanks! I'm just taking it slow and making small adjustments as I go along, that way I can make some permanent lifestyle changes. Hope I stick with it! I think I will, thanks to this site. :)
• Thanks for the encouragement!
