I've never really been overweight/fat but when I was chubby in grade 5 I think... not sure... it's been 13 years or so... Some girl called me melon head. Just some shallow nasty girl I didn't get along with. Also, she was a little pudgy herself. (Pot calling the kettle black??) But now years later by dropping over 13…

You are not alone! This is what all of us here at MFP are here for, to motivate and help each other with weight loss and lifestyle changes. First of all, you are young. You will be able to lose weight more easily if you start now. The older you get, the harder it is. It's not purely about exercise. What you eat is vastly…

I don't drink as much as I used to. I don't see the fun in it anymore. It's not worth all the pain and suffering the day after. However, I've been told that I go British. I'm Canadian, so doing a British accent is kinda funny. I also laugh a lot too.

For 5KM I can jog at around 6.5 mph. If it's longer I'd be a bit slower like 6.0

Do not let your self esteem wear you down! We all have to start somewhere, and you've taken your first steps into your journey towards your goal. That's the most important thing. To convince yourself that you need a change and telling your mind to go into a routine. Once you get a routine, then you'll set. Routine can…

I'll send a friend request so we can share success! Do not beat yourself up! There are lots of people in your shoes, and that's what MFP is for! You have taken a big step by admitting that you need to lose weight. (Believe me, some people I know are heavier than you and say that they don't need to lose weight.) Motivation…

I like people who log in daily. Good to hear how they're doing. Feel free to add me too :)

A great way to start running is to take it slow. Don't worry about doing a run in record time. It'll get you no where. The best way is to run for 2 minutes, then walk for a minute. Run for 2. Walk for 1. Keep doing that and eventually you'll be able to increase it like run for 5, walk for 1 etc. Eventually you'll be ale to…

Yes, make sure that you eat some of your exercise calories back. Or else on a day in which you don't exercise you will feel more hungry and eat more. What is your calorie limit? If it's 1200-1600, you'll probably have to stick to low calorie meals like salads, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit and if you're a fan of Chinese food,…

I do cardio exercise like running distance, biking, rowing etc for about an hour. But I spend at least an hour weight lifting/strength straining. My upper body strength has grown significantly since I started 3 years ago. No plans to stop. My calorie limit is 1600. I always make sure I eat enough. Not eating is bad for…

Good news is that you're still very young, and it can be easier than you think to lose weight. The older you get, the harder it is to lose weight. So I would suggest starting your weight loss journey right now, because if you don't start now, it will be that much harder to lose the weight. Going to a counselor or doctor…

Hi everyone. I'm relatively new (been here 2-3 weeks) and so far I've lost 2 lbs. Baby steps, but I don't have that much weight to lose. However, I want to lose around 20-30 lbs. I'm big into weight lifting and running. I'd love to be friends with all of you! Feel free to add me :)

I just graduated university last year. But I would be happy to share stories with you!

Hey, welcome to MFP! Through watching bodybuilders and having a mother who is crazy about fitness, I have learned that the best and fastest way to burn fat is by doing interval training. Now what this is.. You basically walk/run. Walk for 30 secs, Sprint ( going around 80-85% depending on how fast you can go) for 30 secs,…

Welcome! Feel free to add me to share fitness stories/successes. Hmmm... something interesting about me.... Well I don't know if this is interesting, but I grew up on a remote Gulf Island in British Columbia, Canada. I had to catch 4 buses, 2 ferries and walk 10-15 mins just to get to high school back in the day. Boy am I…
