In the summer, I'd go early in the morning, before it to hot to walk outside. Now that it's so cold, I mostly stick to indoor things or in the afternoon if it's warm enough.

I'm also an emotional eater, but I find that if I can get out for a walk, it's not so bad. Even when I worked in an office, if the stress got too bad, I'd go zip around the building once (or twice!) and it would really help. I also find that if I'm walking regularly, my stress levels are generally lower and I can deal with…

I have a little black dress that I haven't worn in almost 20 years. I can get it on again (barely), but it's going to take quite a bit more for me to be able to zip it up, much less be able to wear it again. As I've progressed, I've gotten back into lots of my old clothes, including my wedding dress, but THAT is my Holy…

I've never seen The Biggest Loser, but I record Fat Chef, Too Fat for 15, Our Big Fat Weight Loss Story, and My 600 Pound Life. Definitely helps keep me motivated!

I was well beyond where you are right now a year ago, and I can attest that if you stick to it, if you work MFP, you'll get where you want. I'm still working, but getting there!

Split pea soup, potato soup, bean soup, fried rice, scalloped potatoes, twice baked potatoes (I add some cooked cauliflower with the mashed potatoes, too), omelets/scrambled eggs, quiche, pasta/zucchini carbonara, pizza, mac & cheese, calzones.

I have issues with posting pics here, which is why I generally direct things straight to the blog, but here's the basics: 3 egg whites 1/4 tsp cream of tartar (optional, but it helps the whites whip up better) 1/3 cup sugar 3/4 tsp vanilla extract 2 oz dark chocolate (I used 70%, but the original recipe calls for…

In a book: The Unbearable Lightness of Being, when they put Karenin, the dog, down. Took me almost two hours to read a page and a half, because I was crying so hard I couldn't see the page! In a movie (not the best, but the biggest for me): Saving Private Ryan. I had just found out the day before that I was pregnant, and I…

You absolutely can do it, and you're going to feel so much better as you go!

For lunch today, I had a small leftover baked sweet potato. I took the skin off, cut it up and sprinkled a little brown sugar over the top. I heated it up and put a Cajun-spiced tilapia fillet on it. Love that sweet/spicy combo! I also had some grape tomatoes on the side.
-
This was also an issue for me. Someone here suggested I wear it on my middle finger instead. It was a great quick fix.
-
I'm hoping to do it, but I didn't realize it's the same day as a previous commitment. If I can switch things around, I'll definitely be there, walking most of it--I've lost a lot of ground over the winter.

They aren't even pronounced the same. As my mom said back in the 70's, "PAST-ies are what you eat. PASTE-ies are what Brooke Shields wore in The Blue Lagoon."

You can make them yourself and they're not too bad. http://kimmerfits.blogspot.com/2012/02/recipe-review-pasties.html

I'm currently at about 215, and my goal is 190. We'll see how I feel once I get there for how much further I want to go.
-
I started at almost 350 just about a year ago. I'm still working on my goal, but I feel so much better than I did then! You can make changes and it does pay off!

Bump for sheer awesomeness.

Congrats on your marriage and refocusing on your health! It's a long haul, but so worth it!

My husband is allergic to poultry, so I deal with this all the time. You can do almost anything with a boneless pork chop that you can with a boneless chicken breast.

Love quinoa, but it is too expensive for me to get very often. I'm finding bulgur wheat to be a nice alternative.
-
I get into cooking ruts, too. It seems like it's always soup or stir fry. Of course, I make pizza pretty often (like tonight) and that never gets old! Crustless quiche is a versatile go-to meal for me. Meatballs are another thing I like to have in the freezer--they're also versatile, and have built in portion control. I…

I like quinoa, but it's kind of pricey. I'm a big fan of bulgur wheat, which is also pretty good!

I generally plan mine out the night before. Sometimes I change it up, but it helps me be mindful.

Overheard at my house yesterday: "I'm going grocery shopping. What does everyone want for dinners this week? No, I'm not making biscuits & gravy. How about soup? OK, spaghetti, stir fry, pot roast . . . oh, and salmon is on sale, so we're going to try that again. We still have pasties in the freezer, so I'll make more next…

I'm going to be up tomorrow, so a little extra incentive will be really good for me--Sunday is my official weigh in day.

Just discovered them a few weeks ago--they're great! No one else in the family is a fan, so more for me! :drinker:

Just because I homeschool and am Christian, doesn't mean that I'm a conservative fundamentalist, or even that I'm homeschooling for religious reasons.

Monday--spaghetti, salad & garlic bread ('ll have a big salad with Italian dressing, a little pasta & some tuna) Tuesday--ham fried rice & egg rolls Wednesday--work night, so lentil soup for me, BBQ pork for family, cornbread for both Thursday--work night and husband brings home leftovers from lunch, so miscellaneous stuff…
