I get this. Sometimes I'll feel like eating but then when I really think about it, there's no actual 'hunger' in my tummy. That's when I find something else to do to alleviate what is usually boredom.

I totally get this. I"m also 5'11" and was most comfortable in the 135-140 weight range (thus my goal weight below). Just because we're tall doesn't mean we are also large framed, we can be small framed just like short women can!

Yes! V difficult to find cute clothes when you're tall. Try Long Tall Sally or Boden (which carries most of their stuff in talls)

I also have an 8 year old daughter. 8 year old's are growing like crazy and should never be focused on the calories that healthy foods contain. One suggestion that has helped me with portion sizes is buying individual portions of foods like the nuts that you mention. I buy Blue Diamond Almond 100 calorie packs and eat one per day. That way I'm getting the nutrition of the nuts but not overeating calories. I also concur with prelogging all your foods, that way you…

I can't speak for others but for me personally once I have two glasses of wine I crave (and eat) way over my calories for the day. It's not the alcohol calories it's all the ones that the alcohol drives me to eat.

Clothing sizing is so arbitrary and completely varies from brand to brand. Not only that, vanity sizing has increased (I'm guessing you were born in 1973, so that would make you 39 or so) since you were in your 20's. Just set a goal and see what size you're wearing when you get there.

Why not try taking motivation out of it? Make it more of an automatic thing that you do. I run 3 miles every day on my lunch break. When 12:00 rolls around, every day i just put on my running clothes and GO. I don't even give it a second thought. You could try planning for excercise first thing in the morning before events…
