This. Trial and error will put you in a good ball-park range for daily expenditure.

Assuming a good buzz is the desired effect, look on the bright side, now it's much cheaper for you and much easier to get to your desired level of buzzedness. ;)

The hardest part for me during this entire process was actually getting on the scale for the first time. It happened, and now you have taken control. You can definitely do this!

If becoming a personal trainer is something that would make you happy, I say go for it! I would recommend getting a proper degree in the area. I'm an "ex"-athlete, and have spent a lot of time around trainers. Most of the ones I've ever given any merit to could diagnose and treat any minor injuries I had, as well as teach…

A lot of it was probably water weight. Enjoy the scale victory, it'll even itself out soon.

seconded. you need to consume enough for your organs to function properly.

Enjoy your time out at a restaurant if it isn't a typical habit! I felt exactly this way about Mexican restaurants up until last Sunday. Most restaurants I go to publish their nutritional information, so I tend not to worry. Make alterations, log, and move on and stay within my budget. Mexican restaurants -- they…

Trust the process and the information provided here on the forums! (You'll be able to weed out the good from the bad once you really get going.) I started losing weight at 260, dropped to 190, rebounded to 210. I joined MyFitnessPal on June 24 and I regret nothing. Navigating through the forums is what helped me understand…

I tend to hold out for the cookies my dad makes every Christmas. There's a special place in my journal for those yummy, sugary treats! (I avoid all creepy stairways and passages... I definitely don't blame you for that.)

I was a tiny five year old with a booty. Definitely not worried, but I'm much happier now that the curvy bits are a lot more manageable!

I wouldn't really call this sabotage. *Most* people are just used to seeing you in a certain way. These changes are so gradual that it seems like you've lost big numbers all at once to them. I remember thinking my sister had lost "enough" after she had been using MyFitnessPal for a while. She gained a lot of pregnancy…

Coffee... good, oh so good! It hasn't caused me any issues in my weight loss. However, if you're drinking full flavored Starbucks twice a day without monitoring your consumption, it may become an issue.

I was just a phase.

I'm not trying to be snarky, but how can you make a judgment about a program you haven't even started yet? Best of luck to you, but I think I'll stick to what I've been doing: calorie counting.
-
I like to do that on a normal day. ;)

Drools!!!

I was down a half pound. I think my scale must be broken, I stepped on it four times to be sure!

36 pounds in 157 days. Approximately: .23 pounds per day. 1.61 pounds per week. 6.9 pounds per (30 day) month. I've never broken it down like that before. Awesome thread!

I was never big on the fast food thing, but I did prefer to pop a frozen dinner into the oven every night for convenience. I started becoming more aware of my macronutrients and had little control over them unless I started making my own meals. The sodium content was also a big kicker, not that sodium is all that bad, I…

1. Some people genuinely just don't understand. I don't think that it's that they're judging you. 2. There's a lot of "sabotage" that happens at your age among women. My mom warned me about it for years. I never understood it, still don't. I think that maybe it's a subconscious insecurity thing. If it makes you uneasy,…

Trust the math and patience! Patience is my best friend right now.

Give me about 6 more months of lifting and we've got a contest!

I'm just here for the impending photos. Good luck to you all! Hopefully I'll be joining y'all next year. ;)

To be in the 160s.

I second the notion of creating a routine. I work from home a couple days of week. One meal a day worked for you in the past, but given your new life, it is no longer feasible. Rearrange your daily intake to something you feel comfortable with so you can enjoy meals with your husband. Your body will adapt to the new…

Sometimes you just have an off day. I had lots of them when I played softball. To ease your embarrassment, the random one person who may or may not have seen you falter won't even remember you or your lapse tomorrow.

Just a thought, but maybe you aren't getting proper hydration? Try drinking some water to see if the "hunger" subsides. If it doesn't, then you should eat.

I'm not in maintenance, but I tend to log beforehand if I go out. Mostly to save the hassle of looking through the menu when I get there. I see no harm in logging at the table, but if the commentary or funny looks make you uncomfortable, you can always just plan ahead.
