  • I often tell myself that if I still really want it tomorrow, I can have some. Sometimes I "put off" the craving for a few weeks this way. But other times, it doesn't work as well....
  • Therapy.
  • Oh, how the lack of punctuation changes the intended meaning of this post's topic....
  • My FT4 does the same kind of thing frequently. But sometimes it works just fine.... As others have suggested, make sure you are following the washing instructions (they have a video on the Polar website) and make sure it's not too tight and not too loose, etc. Good luck--I know it's frustrating!
  • Do you do a cool-down after your workout? I never feel good when I don't.
  • Imagine a bag of bricks that weighs ten pounds. Then take the bricks out and fill it with feathers until it weighs ten pounds. The weight is the same but the composition is different. (For an even better mental image, put a belt around the bag with the bricks and then try it on the bag of feathers.)
  • I just want to state that my hips do, in fact, lie. They tell people that I don't exercise and that I've never done a lunge or squat in my life. I'm considering suing them for slander.
  • I love sun butter! Especially the crunchy kind! It's almost a danger food for me, though, as I seem to particularly love it by the spoonful.....
  • My nutritionist encourages people to eat lots of melon and berries, but to go easy on the bananas. And in my (completely non-professional) opinion, dried fruit is really closer to candy and should be considered as such.

  • I like AM workouts because then I can actually do stuff (or relax!) after work. Plus, I think I get a better workout because I'm never dragging in the morning and it's nearly impossible to have something "more important" to do at 6 AM. Also, there are fewer people on the main floor of my gym in the early mornings and…
  • Maybe your clothes are too big but since it's been gradual, you don't notice? Ask some girlfriends if your outfits look ok, maybe. (But after losing close to 70 lbs I also still wear some of the same underwear...)
  • It could have to do with WHAT you're eating to fulfill the calorie allowance.
  • Consider the fact that the women can choose to only put up flattering pictures of themselves. I have a few pictures where I really like how my body looks (because, I guess, it doesn't look it does in real life), and if I were to post a picture, I would likely choose one of those. So it's not really fair to yourself to…
  • I don't count anything that I did before I started making a serious attempt to be active. I've never liked it, but I've always cleaned. However, I do have several MFP friends who count that stuff and seem to be losing, so if it's working for you, I'd go ahead and count it....but if you're not losing, those "exercise"…
  • I started working out before work maybe a year and a half ago. I love it....get up by 5; eat a quick, smallish carby breakfast; at the gym before 6 and out around 7; eat a second and smaller breakfast with protein (cheese, greek yogurt, or nuts usually); shower and go to work. It took me about 2 weeks to get into the…
  • Better yet, you could help her train and then break her legs the day before the triathlon!
  • If you're determined to workout in that room at that time (could you get creative and set up a workout space in a less-used room? could you force yourself to become an AM exerciser?), tell them you're going to have 30 minutes alone in there when you get home from work. Each time they interrupt you, add 5 minutes. Keep…
  • When I feel like that, I try to tell myself "yes, I'm feeling fat now, but I'm taking steps to change that" and then try to use that as motivation to make healthy choices. But like others have said, forcing yourself to exercise is one of the best things you can do....even if you don't feel any better for it that day,…

  • I rinse the whole scalp...basically like shampooing but only with water.
  • I just rinse my hair really well after a workout when I don't want to shampoo. (This is what my hair stylist recommended I do on my wedding day, and I figured if it worked then, it's fine for normal days too.)
  • Thanks for teaching me the word "subcutaneous." Unfortunately, since I don't have your same problem, it'll probably take me a while to work into conversation....
  • If you want some, have a small piece, eat it slowly and enjoy it. If you'll go crazy w/o logging it, make your best guess or just give yourself a set # of calories (like 500). If you don't want any but feel pressured to have some, say that you're too full at the moment, but that you'll take a piece to go. Then give it to…
  • Therapy has been immensely helpful to me in learning WHY I want to "stuff my face" when I'm not even hungry. Turns out my overeating and some other "issues" that I have are all connected and go back to stuff that I had always figured was unrelated and therefore never talked about or let myself think about. It might be…
  • Thanks for posting!
  • Mix in some avocado.

  • If I don't like the way someone is treating me, I just ignore them. It's even easier online than in real life!
  • Unless your goal is to cut them out completely, just make sure that you save some calories for your evening snacks and think hard before you have one to make sure it's what you REALLY want (or at least that it won't leave you regretting "wasting" your calories). I plan everything that I'm going to eat the day before. This…
  • I think a better test of a self-fulfilling prophecy would have been to put all the kids in the same class with the same teacher, but to tell half of the STUDENTS that they are super-awesome geniuses and the other half that they are stupid screw-ups. The experiment you described really just proves that teachers don't always…
  • My FT4 has given me loads of trouble, but one thing that you can try, if you haven't already, is giving the connector (the electronic part that you snap onto the strap) a good rinse and then dry that thoroughly. Also, before you snap that part onto the strap, make sure that the spot on the strap that you snap it onto is…
