A photograph from my sister's wedding. I couldn't help noticing that I was twice the width of any other person in my family. I had to stop blaming genetics...

I would have if I'd had more foresight. Instead, I'm re-gifting a Red Sox toaster (I think it burns the logo into the toast)--mostly as a joke--and wanted to mention in the card that x, y, and z asked me to pass the gift along to him. He likes the Red Sox and I just couldn't care less about them.... Thanks again.

Thanks. My co-worker's birthday will be a bit better (for me, at least) now!

Going out on a few dates with him might help you figure out how you feel....unless really you just want to keep your relationship at the current level because it's working well so far (which is fine, but you should probably let him know that you don't want anything more).

I never would have gone into the gym the first time if I hadn't had an appointment with a trainer. Knowing that I was paying for this appointment and that someone was waiting for me was motivation to actually go. During the initial meeting, I told the trainer that I wanted her to tell me exactly what to do when I go to the…

I smuggle in my own air-popped "kettle corn" (I add some olive oil, salt, and sugar).

I've struggled with depression in the past (and anxiety--but that's not just in the past!) and have been on--and off--meds for it. I can't really tell you what you "should" do, as I don't know you at all or your situation or how you respond to meds, etc., but I know that if I started to feel like I was spiraling down…

Great suggestions! I rarely go into the mall, but maybe it's time for a trip, especially now that I know more exactly what I'm looking for... Thanks to all!

I LOVE sunbutter...especially the crunchy kind.

If I want a more accurate idea of how much mayo (or peanut butter or syrup or ketchup, etc.) I'm about to eat, I use my digital food scale. Much harder to cheat that way.

Definitely sounds promising. (Plus, it's a good story!)

Based on my and several friends' experiences, long distance relationships seem much more likely to work if you knew each other before the LDR started. If you've never LIVED real life together (not necessarily sharing a home, just living in the same general area...and anything that can be called a "visit" isn't "real…

In addition to lots of the the above comments, I'll add two: 1. A chest freezer so we can buy healthier cuts of meat when they're on sale and then freeze them. We also stock up on berries in summer and freeze them. And we make triple/quadruple batches of healthy meals and save what we don't want to eat that week, so we…

I prefer to log my binges. If nothing else, it slows me down slightly. (I can't use two hands to shove food in my mouth if I'm simultaneously recording what I'm eating.)

Just lie and say that your doctor told you that you need to watch your cholesterol or something and has "prescribed" only whole foods for the majority of your meals.

My husband often doubles or triples a recipe and after we portion out what we want for that week, then we freeze the rest. This works for a bunch of our favorites (chili, turkey soup, turkey burgers, spaghetti sauce, goulash, more). Otherwise, many recipes can pretty easily be halved.

When I'd lost a bit of weight (around 70 lbs) and started to approach a "normal" BMI, I got all freaked out because a huge part of my identity (the fat sister, the fat friend, plus-size woman, etc) had disappeared, but I didn't have have anything to replace it with. I simply wasn't ready to see myself as anything other…

Bump to show my husband when he gets home from work. Thanks for sharing!

Therapy has been helpful for me. There are underlying reasons why I don't want to be a "normal" weight/body and now that I know what they are, I can address the actual problem--and my eating patterns are slowly starting to change.

Therapy (originally started for something else) has been helping me figure out WHY I binge. So I'm working hard on the underlying issues--which I never knew even existed until recently, as I had always just figured I was lazy, weak, simply had bad food habits--and the eating part is getting better as a result.

Maybe mix some plain greek yogurt with some smashed up avocado and use that instead of mayo? It works for tuna...

Great idea! (I do a lot of mindless eating in front of my computer....)

We tried this a few days ago. It didn't really remind me of mac & cheese, but it was a great, easy, healthy dish that my husband and I both loved. Thanks again for sharing.
