Elliptical machines overestimate calorie burn by as much as 40%. If the calorie burn is hard to believe, then it is probably too good to be true. Want a more accurate estimate of your calorie burn? Try this: http://caloriesburnedhq.com/calories-burned-on-elliptical/ You will find that the number you receive is probably a…

I'm not used to it yet. When I do laundry and fold my undies, I think, "these undies look like little girl underwear." I am taken back sometimes by how small my clothes look. I realize that when I put them on they fit me... but sometimes I have a hard time wrapping my head around it.

I've been here for a few months now, and weighing my food on a digital scale, logging that food, and exercise has worked for me. I take 100 mcg of Levothyroxine. I also have hypoparathyroidism and I had a complete thyroidectomy. I didn't go organic, but I did get in more fresh vegetables. I am a huge fan of salads in jars.…

Thanks :) I could have some potentially good news. Yesterday, my doctor reviewed my labs and found that even though I have decreased the calcium tablets I am taking, that my calcium levels continue to increase. My doctor said that I *may* be recovering from hypoparathyroidism. I will be going back to get labs in 3 months.…

Thanks :) I take calcitriol so that I can absorb calcium because I have hypoparathyroidism following the thyroidectomy. The only meds that I am currently prescribed that I take for my thyroid and hypoparathyroidism is synthroid and calcitriol.

I use a digital scale to weigh my powder. I weigh the powder, put it in a mason jar and close it tight and pack it around where ever I need to go. I throw a mason jar in the gym back or lunch bag and I am good to go. I don't mix water or milk or anything in the mason jar when I pack it to go. I add water when I am ready to…

Thanks :) My calorie goal is 1466 per day. My macros are 40/30/30. I take 100mcg of synthroid. I lift weights and run... and walk my dog in the morning and evening. :) I started with stronglifts 5x5 and tried C25K. I was up to running 6 mi and then I strained my quad. I was out of commission from running for over a month.…

If you are planning to lift heavy, then Planet Fitness might not be the best bet. They have dumb bells and machines. Period. Dead lifts are banned. You will not find an Olympic barbell or squat rack there. They have preset barbells. When I started lifting I had to go elsewhere.

Smaller undies :) Smaller jeans.

Awesome progress :) Keep up the good work.

I haven't reached my goal weight yet, and I already have friends who are encouraging me to stop where I am and not lose anymore weight. Some of those same people have tried to discourage heavy lifting because I will "get bulky". lol, that is NOT going to happen without attempting to do so, and even then it is hard work. At…

I'm 5'5" wearing a size 6 in pants now. Macros are 40/30/30 Eating just over 1400 calories.

What worked for me was to pick up weights, weigh all of my food, and I started running. I had belly/hip weight and lifting weights, running, and eating 1400 calories a day has helped. I am not at my goal weight, but I am not carrying the weight where I once did.

I take 15 minute breaks at work and I go walk during my 15 minutes breaks. If the copier has to warm up before I can make a copy, I step into the file room and get some squats in until the copier warms up. I try to get a little exercise in when I can throughout the work day... like counter push ups. The little things add…
