Success so far... 15 lbs until goal weight
In the picture above, the picture on the left was taken in 2010 when I was at my heaviest. I weighed about 185 lbs. I had uterine fibroids. I was anemic. I had low energy. I used (abused) thermogenics and diet pills for energy. I was not losing weight. The pills masked the fatigue caused by anemia. In 2011, I had a…

How can a 65g Power Bar have 46g carbs, 8g protein, 4g fat, 2g fiber, and 26g sugar? That equals 80g
My question is specifically about the PowerBar Performance Vanilla Crisp (65 grams) I shoved in my pie hole this afternoon. How can a 65g Power Bar have macros that add up to 80g?

Maintenance Fail: I got down to 132 in 2014. Now at 147 and 39.3% body fat
I had a DEXA scan yesterday. Even though I'm still running, I haven't been weight/strength/resistance training. I haven't been regularly logging my meals. I am back up to 147 with 39.3% body fat, per the DEXA scan. Here is a success thread that I did back in 2014. I have recommitted to logging my food and…

Cold at night, then night sweats in the middle of the night
Hi all, I am currently waiting for my bloodwork to come back. I'm guessing that my doctor will need to reduce my levothyroxine. I saw my doctor back in June and we had bloodwork done then. Since then, I've lost over twenty pounds. When I get home in the evening and get ready for bed, I am often cold. I wake up in sweats in…

Diet and Nutrition Misconceptions
I wrote the following email to BePureWellness who is an affiliate of Blue Cross Blue Shield who is promoting Live Better Louisiana for Louisiana State Employees: This program suggests a heart healthy diet which has a daily calorie goal of 1200 calories. When I exercise, it does not include that day's exercise in my calorie…

Getting back on track after a roller coaster
I was active and fit for many years in my life. I am ex-military and I used to work out a great deal. My weight has fluctuated over the past ten years due to health conditions. I packed on weight after a knee injury and when I was anemic. I had an arthroscopic surgery for my knee (torn meniscus). I was anemic for many…
