Make something at home in your slow cooker, and then portion it out and take it to work. Reheat, enjoy! ETA: Sorry, I sometimes forget not everyone has a slow cooker. Casseroles are good for making on a weekend and taking to work, as well, and there are approximately 3,253,782 casserole recipes on the internet. You're…

@cwolfman13 - If you haven't been already, head to Casa Sena for a nice lunch on the patio. It's (roughly) northeast of the Plaza. Love that place.

Greek yogurt, for sure. I love it for breakfast, and it is a great ingredient swap for so many things. I also love hummus, sriracha, salsa, green chile mustard, cayenne, cardamom, and cinnamon.

I feel like one has affected the other for me. I do a Greek yogurt with toppings for breakfast because I like it, but after I started logging on MFP, I realized it would be really difficult to get a bigger bang for my buck in terms of protein, calories, convenience, and cost. So now I just do it every morning because it's…

We have a local brand called Van Rixel Bros. that makes this dreamy lemon lavender ice cream, but it's only seasonal. If I trusted myself, I would stock up, but that would be a recipe for disaster. I also love: Blue Bunny Bunny Tracks, Talenti Sea Salt Caramel, and my guilty pleasure is a Sonic Snickers Blast. ETA: Tried…

A leftover flatbread with chorizo, pinons, green chile, tomato sauce, and mozzarella; a mixed greens salad with grape tomatoes, sliced almonds, and a lemon herb vinaigrette; a blackberry cucumber sparkling water.

I second the previous poster. If you're worried about cost, head to a nice thrift/consignment shop to pick out pants that fit you on the widest part, and THEN take them to a tailor. Lot less $$ than buying full retail and then getting them taken in.

I am really grateful for this thread, especially on Mondays. All of you inspire to keep going, and to keep trying new things. NSV - Really wanted to buy a pint of gelato while grocery shopping yesterday, but I knew if I did, I would eat more than my share and go over my calories (it's a weakness, I'm working on…

Had an argument with DH before work today, and I wanted to eat my emotions with a breakfast burrito at the cafeteria. I looked at my watch and realized that if I stopped there before going to my desk, I'd be late. So now, I've sat at my desk, had some crackers, hummus, and string cheese, and that horrible craving has…

Having my daughter and going through severe postpartum depression were the impetus behind starting the weight loss. I hated myself for about a year after she was born - for lots of different reasons - but once I made it through to the other side, and started to be kind to myself, I realized how unkind I was being to my…

I visited Edinburgh once, and would love to go back! Holla at the fat is fat comment - it's as easy to gain weight in Scotland as it is anywhere else, and as possible to lose weight there as anywhere else. Add me if you're so inclined!

Ah, we all want what we can't have. I always wanted to be tall - I am 4'11". Believe me, us short/petite/delicate girls do not have any special advantage over you tall girls. Frankly, I think the majority of women face the same struggles and we just don't know it. I went on a girls' trip recently, and my friend who has…

My husband used it after getting some not-fun blood results and saw markedly improved numbers at his next visit a few months later. In his case, he has a genetic predisposition to liver issues, and milk thistle can help liver function in some people. I agree that it does not "cleanse" your liver - that's crap. However, it…

You've received some really great advice thus far - especially about the Diet Dr. Pepper. My kiddo just turned 2, and I am fairly certain we have entered the picky eater phase. She will eat everything in sight, but she is a carb queen and a cheese fiend, so we have to find ways to make sure we sneak in some protein…

Husbands can be real dunces sometimes. After I missed a day of C25K (no big deal, I can do it the next day), DH said to me, "I don't even know why you bother if you're just gonna not do it and make excuses," and blah, blah, blah. He is normally otherwise an amazing husband, but really, dude? Think before you start spewing…

I just started doing that with a pair of pants I love, but are getting too big (and were really expensive, so I'll be damned if I buy another pair before I'm at my goal weight). Way to go!

You're a 20 year old female, according to your profile, but no height/weight info given. Plug your stats into MFP to see what their daily calorie recommendation is. You should not be eating less than 1200 calories a day, contrary to what your doctor says. Go for a walk everyday, or most days, to start in terms of exercise.…

I like adding chia seeds to my yogurt - adds crunch, protein, and fiber.

Skip the buns for the meat - that's a huge calorie saver. Chips and dips (guacamole, salsa, green chile dip, etc.) are my downfall. I will just eat them mindlessly, especially if they're just out for everyone to help themselves. My "trick" is to get a plate and limit myself to a serving of said chips and dip. Then it's…

What @MissusMoon said. You're not a Biggest Loser contestant. Don't compare yourself to one. Don't compare yourself to ANYONE. Their weight loss experience was radically different than the vast, vast majority of people who successfully lose weight and keep the weight off. Don't let that small, unclear "study" be your…

Don't know if this has been said, but I get flavored sparkling waters and have one each day with my lunch. It makes me feel like I'm getting a little bit of a treat/pick-me-up. The rest of the day, after I finish my coffee, I have a 20 oz. water bottle that I keep at my desk, and I try to drink at least 2 of those every…

There's a great user on MFP, @vismal, who is an RN and has posted some great stuff about his habits, both for eating and training. Here's a link to a good one: community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1276219/i-went-from-morbidly-obese-to-6-pack-abs-ask-me-anything/p1.

Some tactics I employ: Skip the bun/tortilla/bread that might come with an entree. Specifically ask that it be left out. Only eat half your plate and take the rest home - if you lack willpower (like I do), ask that half be boxed up right away. Split a meal with a friend. I do this fairly often. Mostly with my two-year old.…

DONE! Now I'm trying to decide what to wear at her party in the park. It might still be a size 6, but I can grab a 4 if I want to, and that feels good. The next mini goal is to get through C25K. I just started yesterday, and I didn't die, so there's hope. Keep on going everybody!

Figure out what foods you DO like - there have to be some, and they can be anything - and then go to a recipe site that helps you build off of those ingredients: there's supercook.com and allrecipes.com to start. Shoot, there are probably even apps for that sort of thing. If a recipe has something in it that you don't like…

Quick update, just so you all know that your words were not wasted on me. Started C25K today. Even though I didn't want to, even though it was raining outside, I did it! Did not enjoy it per se, but I certainly feel better and more energized already. I feel like this could be a good thing to help get me started on the road…

I really like kamut - it keeps well in the fridge and has a nutty flavor.

Thanks for all the new responses! To answer a few questions: the kiddo is going to be 2 next week and we don't have a dog (or bikes! Geez ...), but we do like to go for walks as a family, and Mr. LuckyNumbers has said he'd like to do that at least a few times a week after work. I would love to just stop at the gym after…

Love the money jar, that's a great idea. I would find the following motivating: a new nail polish, a drink at the bar with DH and without the kid (he, he), a new magazine, a high quality cheese or chocolate (for a responsible, budgeted snack), flowers, stationery. I have a slight addiction to stationery.

Thanks for your replies, everyone. Glad I am not alone. :-) I do love being outside, but it's usually on the patio with a beer in my hand. But I think taking the kiddo for a walk would be great for both of us, and DH too if he wants to come along. @TheLifeDetoxer - I hadn't thought about the WiiFit before. We have a PS4…
