Congrats on that huge NSV, @NewLIFEstyle4ME !

I am with a lot of other posters here, but will repeat what @Cassandraw3 said - if I know I am going to binge on something, I just don't buy it. Right now, I have zero trigger foods in my house, because I cannot trust myself to go off the deep end when I have a bad day or I'm bored or stressed or fill-in-the-blank (in my…

I'm so sorry @snoo61 - losing a pet is so hard, no matter how it happens. Certainly do what you need to feel like you accomplished something, but also know that it's okay not to accomplish anything for a while. It's okay to grieve, be sad, cry. Be kind to yourself.

So much this. I now try really hard to buy gifts for my friends and family that are either consumable or an experience. I will buy a gift card to a nice restaurant, a certificate for a mani/pedi, or something that I know will be used but that comes with a gift receipt. For their birthdays, I took my sister and…

I could not agree more with your position. My decluttering didn't always translate as "environmentalism" for me, but as I keep going, I find myself being much more aware of the life cycle of the things I buy. I get bummed at all the plastic crap that comes into our house via our 4 year old (and the people who buy her said…

Oh man, decluttering is one of my favorite pastimes (no really - there is no sarcasm there!), so I am so excited to have stumbled upon this thread. I have found for myself that when I start gaining some control or agency over one part of my life (finances, weight, space, etc.), it tends to translate and spill over into…

Please see a doctor (I'm thinking endocrinologist or the like) if you think you might have a metabolic disorder.

How does one think their data from this site might be used? I mean, Facebook always said a user's data belongs to the user, but we all know how that's turning out ...

I use Podcast Addict, but it's also available on iTunes and Stitcher. There are lots of podcast apps for Android (I have an Android phone) and yes, it's free!

So many options! - Salad with protein (as mentioned above). I like to buy a rotisserie chicken, take it home, and toss that on salad all week, as well as use for dinners. - Greek yogurt with berries, almonds, chia seeds, and rolled oats - Leftovers (I, for one, love cold spaghetti) - Get a bento box and just put whatever…

Pinterest is a really good source of information. Put in some foods you like to eat and you're bound to get a load of information. Lots of people also like skinnytaste.com, and the MFP blog has lots of great recipes, too.

It would be helpful if you made your diary public so that we could give some feedback on where you can improve your diet so that you stay fuller longer. Generally, more protein, fiber, and fat will keep you fuller for a longer amount of time than other types of nutrients. When you're hungry, you should eat, but reach for a…

I just got one for my birthday, and we are digging how easy it is so far. I made a turkey penne pasta the other night that went over well, along with bulk-cooking some coconut-lime rice. My husband did lamb chops and roasted purple potatoes in it the first week we had it, too. I am NOT a cook, in the least, so this thing…

Multi-grain crackers Hummus (the green chile variety) Baby carrots String cheese Stuffed olives Almonds Hard boiled eggs I also keep a couple cans of sardines in my desk for days when I forget to pack lunch. I go outside to eat those because I don't hate my coworkers.

I have been having a lukewarm approach to losing weight for the last 3 years or so, an have been hovering at this weight for a long while. Last week, I was at the grocery store getting produce and as I looked up the wall of greens, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror at the top, under the fluorescent lights. I was…

You've received some good advice so far, but it bears repeating: meditation and exercise have been the most effective tools for helping me to cope with stress. If you have a smartphone, download the Calm app. It's free and gives you options for either guided or unguided meditations, and also allows you to set how long you…

Well, I'm happy to report that I got my coworkers to do some office spring cleaning yesterday. We all went full-steam for about an hour. It was awesome! Today, I will mop the bathrooms and hallway. Maybe the kitchen, too. Maybe.

You've received lots of great advice and guidance from previous posters. I don't have much to add except this: know that you're not alone. Lots and lots of us suffer from the same or similar issues and have the same setbacks, doubts, and negative self-talk. I think the biggest takeaway from what's been said here is to have…

I just discovered Brianna's Lively Lemon Tarragon dressing. Yum - it's lemony and fresh and slightly sweet, and I love it on a mixed salad with chicken, feta, and strawberries. And it's only 35 calories per 2 TBSP. I don't think I could beat that with a homemade recipe that was also as delicious.

I love this one! Super easy to do. I'm going to yoga on my lunch break, so an additional 20 minute break might not work, BUT, I'm walking from work to a hair appointment tomorrow (about a mile). I'm also still doing my one thing, which is drinking tons of water during the day to make extra trips to the bathroom, which…

Ugh, I really need to mop. Really, really. And maybe prune the plants in the front yard.

I think we're going to have pulled pork tacos tonight.

Going to yoga on my lunch break today and then walking 1/2 mile after work to meet my husband.

I would like to both drink more water and stand more. So, I have brought a water bottle to work (I think it's about 20 oz. or so) and aim to fill it 3 times a day. This will also result in having to go to the bathroom more. And when I go to the bathroom at work, I will not take the shortest route back to my office; I'll do…

Shut the front door. I am going to pay off a couple of bills so that I can budget for a trainer/class/SOMETHING to get me lifting weights. Thanks for the inspiration.

I LOVE the decluttering suggestion. I may have a slight addiction to decluttering ...
