  • Up in the top right corner, you select how many portions your recipe makes. That way when you enter "1 serving" it will log the amount you ate. Alternatively, if your recipe makes 4 portions, you could just log that you ate 0.25 of it. Same diff.
  • Are you new to Zumba? It can be frustrating until you learn the moves. If this is you, give it a month and you'll really start to enjoy it. Or are you an old pro and something got changed up on you? I get a little irritated when we have a fill-in instructor and I don't know any of her moves. I feel like I'm getting…
  • 10/19: 30 min (Yoga) 10/20: 37 min (Walking/Jogging) 926 down / 514 to go 64% hours complete / 67% October complete (Yikes! Gotta get caught up!)
  • ^^^This. My grocery bill has been SO low since I've stopped eating meat, and the hubby and kid eat much less of it. That used to be a HUGE expense.
  • Grateful for cool, quiet (can I add "kid-free"?) early mornings with a hot chai tea latte and a little yoga under the trees in the backyard. Grateful for cool, breezy late mornings out at the ocean sipping mimosas with the hubby. Blessed day so far!
  • Today I am grateful that I found a vegan feta cheese recipe that is really delicious! Cheese is one thing I've missed since giving up dairy.

  • I kind of have a similar situation. Maybe I can help you a little. ? I am vegetarian...but mostly on a vegan diet. My husband is not vegetarian, but is gluten free. My step-daughter is none of the above, but is a damn picky eater! lol SOOO...I understand the challenges you have! Here's typically some of the things I do: *…
  • I hit 40, and like a car that has clocked 100k miles...everything started going downhill all of a sudden. For the first time in my life, I started to not only LOOK old, I started to FEEL old. I didn't like it AT ALL, and became determined to look and feel as young as (or younger than) my age.
  • Thanks for that info! So I guess on the 5:2, we wouldn't use such numbers, since we are not technically fasting...only eating significantly lower calories than usual (unless, of course, your 500 calories are all in the morning or all at night). That link was also very helpful. Although they don't specifically mention the…

  • Very simple gratitude for me today...I'm grateful for good music and good musicians that can move my soul (it was a concert weekend :p ).

  • I have Graves (hyper-). I'm down to taking one pill (PTU) every other day because I had gone hypo- after taking two pills a day. Before that, I had the usual symptoms (sleeplessness, shaky hands, sweating, heat intolerance, heart palps), but before I was diagnosed, I had been having some other symptoms that it wasn't until…
  • Sounds like fun! I'm in! 10/1: 50 min (Zumba) 10/2: 55 min (Zumba) 10/3: -0- 10/4: 120 min (60 Yoga/60 Walking) 10/5: 55 min (Walking/Jogging) 10/6: -0- 10/7: 60 min (Zumba) 340 down / 1100 to go
  • Add me to the list of people confused about negative calorie adjustments. So, would it be correct to simply delete a Pacer negative calorie adjustment if you work out withOUT your phone on you? Similarly, would it be correct to keep the Pacer (positive) calorie adjustment if you, say, go for a walk with your iPhone on you?…
  • Doesn't look like this board is too active, which is a shame because I'd love to share 5:2 meal ideas with my fellow vegetarians. I'm just starting the 5:2 today and looking forward to seeing how it goes. Nice to meet...eh...whoever happens to come by this board! :) Oh...just saw the questions that I'm supposed to answer:…
  • I also have an autoimmune disease of the thyroid (Graves). I suggest you visit the Hypothyroidism and Hyperthyroidism Group on MFP: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/753-hypothyroidism-and-hyperthyroidism Very helpful and friendly folks there. Good Luck, Jo
  • I eat whole eggs because I'm vegetarian (ovo-vegetarian). Without eating any meats or dairy, ovo-vegetarians tend to be low in B12 - and egg yolks are a great source of B12.
  • I know you just bought tupperware, but I recently started doing make-ahead salads in mason jars. The glass just does a better job than plastic of keeping the lettuce from wilting for several days. You layer your salad ingredients with dressing and heavy veggies on the bottom, lighter fruits and veggies in the middle, and…
  • Port Orange resident here...work in Ormond.
  • Hi Nancy. I live in Port Orange and work in Ormond. I love to walk to Sugar Mill Gardens in Port Orange. It's about a 4 mile walk to/from my house. So pretty out there too. I don't walk on the beaches much...I prefer wooded areas (=shade). lol I know a lot of people that walk the bridge here in Port Orange several days a…
  • Have someone you know and trust hide your scale from you (or even remove it from your home) and ask them to bring it out only once a week for you.
  • Raised in Tennessee, family is all still there. Actual conversation overhead at a family reunion: Uncle1: D'jeet yit? Uncle2: Naw ju? Uncle1: Naw, yawnt to? Uncle2: I reckon You know you're from Tennessee if you can translate this conversation.
  • I found this site once and use it when shopping to pick out avocados...works every time! (Now, getting my Publix to have ripe ones available is another challenge!) http://izismile.com/2013/02/11/how_you_know_if_your_avocado_is_good_4_pics.html
  • Several tbsp of coconut milk + raw stevia for me. However, I'm interested in this common theme of coconut oil in one's coffee. Never heard of/tried this! Does it just float on the top of the coffee? Might have to try it!
  • I love the idea of clean eating, even though I'm not religious about it. But I try to make *clean* choices. I would like to suggest a couple of films to watch...Forks Over Knives, Food Inc, and Hungry for Change. Each of these were real eye-openers for me, and I learned a lot from them.
  • Add me too! I need some support on here as well! :)
  • I can relate to what you're going through. I have Graves also and have been on PTU and beta blockers since March...and have gained about 14 lbs! My endo also told me to lay off the exercise, but only for a couple of months until the levels got closer to normal which would cause the heart palps to decrease. Are you having…
