I use Lavash (a flat bread) as a base. Then add tomato paste and top with whatever I feel like having. Being a carnivore, my pizzas always contain meat, but you can put anything on the base that you would like. The lavash base (I use half a sheet) is 70 calories.

My Ah ha moment was my Dr telling me that I had high blood pressure and needed to take off at least ten pounds or go on meds. She told me that a heart attack was a reality, if I didn't get my BP under control. So, I left that day and instantly got serious about this. I was once very thin and then packed on far too many…

I went over, which is rare for me. I now feel like a moose. :p Tomorrow, back to normal eating.
-
It is only filled with those things if you allow it to be. Pick and chose what you eat and drink. You do not have to snarf. If you go over calorie wise, it is one day. Do not stress over it. Just back to your normal routine the next day.

Fantastic! Congrats!
-
Congrats. I hope it stays that way. Mine came down, and was normal for almost two years. Then, boom, back up again. I am 104 pounds lighter (within 8 pounds of my goal) and on meds. Ugh! This weekend, even with meds, it has been elevated. :(

I cured myself from a big bowl of jelly beans, at a former workplace. Another employee never ate any of them. I asked her why. She told me that too many hands went in to that bowl and she knew of a few employees who would use the bathroom, not wash their hands and dip in to the bowl. No more jelly beans for me.

I usually have Greek yogurt for breakfast. From time to time I toss in Shredded Wheat and on occasional weekends, Greek Yogurt pancakes (5.3 oz of yogurt, 1 egg, 1/2 cup flour and 1 tsp baking soda). This makes two servings.

I eat tuna every day. I may be doomed. :) Mine is usually chunk light, no salt added.

Yep, I put on a bunch of weight in my 40s. In the past two years, I have lost 104. Eight more pounds to goal, and my original weight. :)

Mine came down....for almost two years. Then it went back up. I have lost 104 pounds and my BP is back up. I am now on meds. :/ So, it does happen.

Brandy Beans! Brandy Beans! Brandy Beans. Wait, did I mention their Brandy Beans?

If you do not eat red meat or poultry, do you not like meat at all? If meat is not the issue, you could go to pork. Also, as others have said, fish and eggs are great sources for protein.

Personally, I do like spaghetti squash, but it does have a "sweeter" taste than pasta.

This is my current favorite, written by a chef from my city. https://www.amazon.com/Taste-Technique-Recipes-Elevate-Cooking/dp/1607748991/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1480701155&sr=1-1&keywords=naomi+pomeroy

They are so good! Pumpkin Dinner Rolls 1 (1/4-ounce package), (about 2 1/2 teaspoons) active dry yeast 1/3 cup sugar 3/4 cup milk, heated to lukewarm 7 to 8 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) cold unsalted butter, cut into bits 1 large whole egg, beaten lightly 2…

I am in the wine business, so wine is in my world daily. I simply make sure that it fits in to my daily calorie total.
-
I love roasted pumpkin. I also use it in a chicken stew recipe that I have. Love it! I also use it in pumpkin rolls, although I did not make those this year. They pack a lot of calories, but are oh so good once a year.
-
I use produce wash, so I use all leaves.

Ah, the watermelon. I have no clue. Guests brought the fruit and veggie platter. I was in charge of wine and dessert. ;)
-
Tasty foods, today. I had a little bit of everything and stayed close to my daily goal. Yea! What sent me over? Well, the desserts that I made. Whoops! Pumpkin Cheesecake and brownies. I did manage to leave them behind, so no leftovers came home with me. Whew!

Breakfast: Greek yogurt Morning snack: almonds Lunch: usually tuna Afternoon snack: hummus and vegetables Dinner: beef, chicken, pork or fish.

Congrats on the weight loss! For me, it came down to my Dr telling me that my BP was high and I was a heart attack waiting to happen. She told me to lose 10 pounds. I took her seriously and lost (so far) 104. I am almost back to the weight I used to be. Very excited. My new Dr (the other one went back to school) wants me…

Honestly, the last two years, I have stayed under my calorie goal on Thanksgiving. This year, I am going to a dinner hosted by family members, so I do not know what the menu will be...other than dessert which I am bringing. I never do the traditional turkey dinner....so this year I am faced with that. That being said, I…

I am on day 851. I am about 8 pounds away from my new goal, 2 pound from my original goal. The weight came off fast, in the beginning, and now it has slowed, since I am so close to goal. It's okay with me. I am almost back to my "old" slim self. B)

I weigh every day too.
-
I have wine every night. Rather than having it once I get home, I enjoy it with my dinner. That cuts down on the desire to snack. :)

I can easily buy wild salmon here, in Oregon. But I get your point, so much fish is farmed and filled with colorants. As far as using the canned salmon, it is great in casseroles, salads, soups...anywhere you may use canned tuna. I always keep a can of salmon in my house (as well as jars of local tuna). I use them from…

Good going! You look fabulous. It feels great, doesn't it. Amazing what getting healthy does for all of us.
