  • Almonds are a great snack. Easy to take with you and full of protein. I eat 8 almonds every morning as a snack between breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, I do hummus and vegetables. Avoid the Pringles and, in my opinion, the granola bar.
  • I haven't told anyone whom I have not seen in several years. Why? Because they do not need to know that I gained over 100 pounds to begin with. If they were to see me today, after many years of not having seen me, they might think that I gained 5-10 pounds, rather than the fact that in the past two years, I have lost 102.…
  • From your profile photo, it looks like you do not have a lot of weight to lose. This will play in to it. The closer to goal you are, the slower weight comes off, and you will see fluctuations. TavistockToad asked great questions. Weighing food is very important. Once you get used to weighing your food, you will be able to…
  • For the past two years, I have stayed under my daily calorie goals on Thanksgiving. I do not do the traditional turkey dinner. I rarely have, over the years. This years menu is: Pan Seared Pork Tenderloin with Root Vegetables Spinach Salad Not sure what wine, yet Pumpkin Pie This photo was an appetizer, one year. Seared…
  • I love Pumpkin. One of my favorites are Pumpkin Rolls.pdxwineauxs.com/pumprolls.htm
  • I echo the sentiments thanking you for serving your community. One of my best friends was a Deputy Sheriff and is now a detective with that department. 50 pounds is great! You have done a great job and can do what it takes to get to your goal. As far as motivation....think how great you are feeling now, and how much better…
  • I work out, at home. For me, it is usually dancing. Turn on some music, do a bit of salsa dancing. It can also be done while watching TV. I have also done the Leslie Sansone Walk at Home videos on You Tube. I also do a salsa routine to a You Tune series. https://youtube.com/watch?v=YpXM3sVPxWY
  • I am going to assume that you are in the U.S. That being said, you (legally) must be given lunch and break times.
  • Most days, my breakfast is a Chobani yogurt. On weekends, sometimes I will make a Greek yogurt pancake.
  • I hear ya! For me, it is cake. I love cake! The flavor, the texture, the visuals of a nice slice of cake. But, I no longer have it. I will, however, have a mini cupcake, a couple of times a year, which satisfies my craving.
  • Great success! You look wonderful!
  • If you are fainting, you need to see your doctor. I have been hypoglycemic for many years. I am now under control. I am reactive hypoglycemic, so I need to keep my protein levels up. I carry almonds all the time (they are easy to carry and do not require refrigeration) and keep my meals and snacks on a schedule.
  • I did not consume alcohol for the first eight months. Then, I added wine back in, in moderation. I do account for it in my daily logging.
  • I love many different kinds, but Opal apples are at the top of my list. I also love tart apples and Braeburns. Mmmm.
  • Your BP may have nothing to do with your food intake. See your Dr. Show them what you eat, and what stressors you may have. My BP came down to great levels for almost two years. Then it spiked big time. It was stress caused by an employer I hated. Once I found a new employer, I am back to normal. So, see your Dr.
  • 784 for me. There are some great numbers here.
  • Yes, this is a great answer. Add an ice pack to the bag and you are fine. My car is my office. I take my lunch (a tuna wrap) with me every day. I keep it in a insulated wine bag (my profession) with an ice pack. I used the hard sided ice packs not the soft, squishy ones. Even on hot days, my tuna stays cold.
  • I have just hit 100.2 pounds lost. I am now 10 pounds away from my former weight. Yea! It has taken me a little over two years. It came off quickly, at first, and then slowed, which is good. Do I have any lose skin? Yes, a little bit. I have some on my upper arms and a little on my stomach. It is not a big deal. I do use…
  • I use my scale daily. It is actually fun to put something on it, and realize that you guessed the weight correctly. :)
  • Originally (for many years) I was 125 SW 240 CW 140 GW 135
  • I am in the same boat. My BP was getting high. Dr told me to lose ten pounds. My BP started to come back to normal. Now, I have lost 99 pounds, my BP is high and for the first time in my life, I am on meds. Grrrr.
  • You can do it. Positive thinking and no self-hate. You have a community who are rooting for you.
  • Don't let anyone get to you. You are doing great and doing it for you. There are many people who will be "jealous". Some feel that way because they think they cannot do it (they can, they just have not committed to change). Some do not like to see someone else succeed (they may not even realize that they are behaving that…
  • Congrats!
  • Thanks, jr3500. Yeah, six packs at a time is a bit much. I appreciate the suggestion! :)
  • I was eating Tumaros wraps. Loved them. Now, I cannot find them in my local stores. I should email Tumaros to see if they can tell me where they have them here. Since losing my resource to them, I have been using California Lavash. Also really good.
  • I am in the wine business, in Oregon. A legal taste, here, is 1 ounce. I would figure your tastes at 1 ounce. Also, taste and spit. Seriously. Not only will you save calories, but you will feel better too. ;)
  • I looked it up, after I posted. Now I really do not want to consume it. ;)
  • Hey no need to be snarky. Just because there are ingredients that I am not interested in? :p "Erythritol can cause side effects such as diarrhea, headache, and stomachache in some people and/or when consumed in large doses."
