Most of Body Pump isn't aerobic steady state exercise so a HRM isn't going to give you an accurate measure anyway. It's more for building muscle endurance than calorie burn.

My gym has one too but it was $35 for once session. It gives you your body fat percentage that then you can use to calculate your RMR and your TDEE more accurately. I have a Omron Body Fat Loss Monitor which I got off of amazon for around $30 and it was pretty close to what the bodpod said. While it's interesting to know…

I've been doing Les Mills classes for almost two years. If you're first starting out with pump use the same weight for warm up throughout the entire class until you can learn the moves with good form. After that keep adding weight until you can no longer make it through the track. If you have any questions feel free to…

I've been doing les mills classes for awhile now. When I wear my hear rate monitor I burn anywhere from 170-300 cals in bodypump. I weigh 130lbs and am 5'6". In general I find the burns from the les mills website to be drastically overestimated.

It varies greatly by weight/fitness level. I have a polar HRM and burn about 200 calories for pump and 450 for combat. I weigh 130lbs and 5'6"

I had a giant one develop in my right wrist before I started weight lifting. It would pop and grow back and I hated it! I had it removed but it was so deep in the joint that it was a six month recovery process. Over a year later I still have problems with flexibility in the joint and I get random pains while doing things…

I bought the book and am slowly reading through it (its a bit dry and technical). Most of the information can be found in a more concise manner here http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/Starting_Strength_Wiki I lift MWF and occasionally do cardio on the weekends out of habit but I make sure I eat back all the excess…

I've been doing Tae Bo Amped for a few weeks now and definitely notice a difference in my biceps and abs. It's on sale at Amazon for $12 dollars and is well worth it! It's a bit hard to follow some of the moves in the beginning (for me anyway I'm not that coordinated) but you do pick up on it after going through it a few…
