  • when i reach goal weight i am going to have a renaissance dress made for me. i will probably never have a place where it is necessary to wear it. i will just randomly wear it around town. but that isnt my style just something i always thought would be fun to have. my style is tunics and black pants, but... i have no idea…
  • a pickle makes almost anything better. we are kindred,. you and i.
  • shrimp and cottage cheese omelet with bacon. there is a restaurant here that makes them in HUGE sizes and one of these days i need to make myself one in regular size with egg whites. they are awesome. they use the tiny salad shrimp and you cook the egg first and wrap it around the filling like a burrito. it sounds weird…
  • actually you burn calories sitting on the couch. you burn calories sleeping too. im pretty sure not a second of your life goes by where you arent burning calories...
  • oh yea, you gotta get over that. running a mile hardly even burns any calories really... but it makes you feel great... after its over. results come from your diet, not your exersize as much. and slowly if you are doing it right, in a non-starvation, healthy kind of way. one where you can even have a serving of doritos…
  • welcome to the fora. consider this post your initiation. all kinds of people around here. if you want to do it, you will do it. i suggest getting a friends list together and doing most of your talking to them, that way you can delete people. and you could even have a whole friends list full of people who share your type of…
  • i cant tell you what will work for you but for me... that sounds miserable. i did low carb once. i made it two weeks or so but i was soooo bored and missed everything i love. for me, the calories in/ calories out way is what works, but if you can do it, more power to you. it works for some.
  • yea, too little. in the long run slow and steady is better for you and your organs and muscles and such, which need calories in much larger qty's than that to work properly. a diet that low in calories puts strain on... well everything.
  • no on the slivers of onion, no on the lemon wedge, yes on the carrot. i dont typically log a bite of a fruit or vegetable. but more than that yes. this is only my fruit and veggies rule, and also i set my calorie goal just a tad lower than it should be knowing that i cant always weigh and sometimes might grab a cherry…
  • i find listings that have per piece as an option, because rolls come in different sizes in different restaurants. i use my best esitimate to choose the listings from comparable restaurants, like the one i go to has a similar menu to a popular chain. i usually spend about 600-650 calories when i go to sushi for lunch.
  • first of all, my diary is open to my friends for meal inspiration and ideas, not so they can judge me aloud about how i choose to fill my calorie goal. second, i am willing to answer questions or offer advice to queries my friends post, but not to offer advice that they didnt ask for about what they should eat. that would…
  • hmmmm. maybe you just dont like exersize. you dont need it to lose weight, dont do it. or you dont like the gym. then go for walks instead. or buy a bike and ride around. something that feels more like fun than work. i get depressed when i spend my time doing things i hate. thats why i dont work for other people anymore.…
  • i stand corrected. i only knew it as a french word.
  • if you JUST started the plan feeling hungry is normal but will subside. a sudden change in calorie quantity always takes adjusting. if you are completely trying to cut out carbs and fat consider just less, not none. carbohydrates are the bodies main source of glucose (its fuel) and if you cut them you feel super hungry…
  • lots of fruits and vegetables have protein, some more than others. the database does not lie in this case. sometimes it lies about other things though... like calorie content. when in doubt just google the name of your item i.e. courgette nutrition facts, and the chart will come up to the left. although in english it would…
  • i do not. i am human. i have a calorie goal and some days it is filled with a balanced diet... and some days like today... junk. i work very hard to acheive my goals and i am doing great and proud of myself no matter how i fill my calorie goal. even when i go over really because its all about the big picture. i am much…
  • strangely, i take a week off heavy exersize every few weeks, only walking and bike riding and such, and i lose the most weight in these weeks. when i exersize more with intense cardio and weight training as i do, my scale moves more slowly but it is when my body looks strongest and i feel the best. i cant explain why but…
  • this is what i was thinking.
  • #999 they dont feel the need to tell others how to have a happy relationship..... also i am pretty sure he said girlfriend, not wife. about posting on social media... sometimes the more you see people in a relationship posting googaw to and about each other, the more of a red flag it is. i knew a couple who suddenbly…
  • I cannot determine if this post is serious or not. swelling in feet or ankles not caused by known injury and lasting more than a day or two should be checked by your doctor.
  • we have been making our own pizza. i buy dough at trader joes, weight out a chunk, squash it thin and cover it with designer toppings. i like one i made with (trader joes) eggplant garlic spread, smoked mozzarella, sliced olives, sliced cherry tomatoes. i want to make one with fig jam, gorgonzola, and caramelized balsamic…
  • as an adult the only diet i ever tried was atkins and i barely lasted a week. not because it doesnt work but because it SUCKED. sorry, i like food or i wouldnt be in this mess, why would anyone want to restrict what they like from their lives... i do calorie counting, and it works, i do diets, they dont. because i hate…
  • light sour cream, no butter, green onions or chives. roasted oven fries with garlic...
  • 16 pounds is excessive for just water weight. i would keep your appointment. my husband had similar issues and ended up in the ER and with a new heart valve.
  • maybe all the anger is because it makes people have to look at things they are trying to deny...
  • you do realize, that meat can sit in a grocers fridge for a couple weeks before you even buy it. i bought a package of chicken the other day with a sell by date of a week from the day i bought it... once you cook meat it kills a lot of germs, then you just have to properly store it. wait until it cools before you store it…
  • considering how many people are on here with eating disorders, known or unknown to themselves, and how many are in danger of developing them due to ignorance or impatience or whatever,,,, i say, please, MFP, tell people when you think they should be eating more. they wont listen though. they will probably just complain…
  • excuses was a good one. for me, i cut out keeping bags of chips and 2 liters of soda next to my spot on the couch. where i sat on my bum most of the day. then i gave up frying my food in fats and eating whole bags of things like fried chicken pieces then i gave up eating all day long while sitting on the couch i gave up…
  • agreed, that was not an impressive combo for me either.
  • i used to love cherry coke zero when i was trying to lose weight before. i dont do fake sugar much anymore because it isnt easy to digest but the reason i had to stop coke zero is because i could never beat my sugar addiction as long as i was hooked on the super sweet taste of it. i found i did better just eating less…
