  • No Sugar Added Jello Milk Chocolate Refrigerated cups are tasty - they do the trick for me. I think they're about 65 calories. My biggest problem is NOT dunking cookies in it.
  • I smile a lot more. I'm just happier and more at peace with myself and my life. It's pretty great! And my posture is a little better - it's like when I'm walking around I'm trying to show off that there's something vaguely reminiscent of a waist in there somewhere.
  • lol - that sounds about right!
  • Hey, I've been wondering where all the NON-exercisers have been hiding! Some of my friends really put me to shame! I volunteered to walk dogs at the SPCA to get some exercise. Yeah, I had to fill out a form and commit for 3 months in order to get me moving! Oh, that and Zumba, which is the only exercise I don't hate.
  • Has anyone else noticed that there seem to be a LOT of gals in their late 40's on here or is it just that I notice cuz we're the same age? I think we're all in the same boat - the one that brainwashes us to think that 40 is scary! I guess if that's true, we've all been scared into kicking 40's *kitten* with our…
  • Me Too! I just had my 39th birthday and I've been dreading 40 for over a year already. I figured if I started early enough, I could be fab enough by 40 that it doesn't seem so much like a 'sentence' as a 'renewal'. Hopefully looking and feeling better than I have in 15 years will make 40 seem like not such a scary hurdle…
  • That's lovely - thanks for making me smile and remember the goddess that I am! ;0)
  • SOME veggies you could probably get away with not tracking after you're familiar with which ones are VERY low-cal (lettuce, spinach, etc) but you should be logging all your fruit for sure. Just a couple of servings of fruit can account for 10% of your daily calories so yes, they count!
  • I'll check in my fridge, behind my birthday cake, cuz I'm pretty sure that's where mine is skulking about. (I really need to just 'accidentally' drop the rest of it on the floor cuz it's way to easy to justify another piece.) As for the rest of it, maybe you just need to take a break. Give yourself a week off to get it out…
  • Yup, and I'm not afraid to admit it. I do it once every week or two, depending on special plans, social stuff, cravings, etc. I do try to plan for it and make a decision that I'm doing it, rather than just realizing that I've gone over my calories and decide to write off the rest of the day. Until yesterday, I've never…
  • I generally stay under my calories 80-90% of the time with the occasional 'over' day, but I also allow myself a cheat day once every week or two. On those days, I don't log anything and don't really limit myself at all. Ironically I have occasionally had a really good loss a couple of days later, maybe it's my body's way…
  • Wow - those are some guns! Nice work!
  • Oh yeah! We all cherish that feeling! I bought a shirt yesterday because it was a large - no XX's, just an L! I know it was a loose-fitting large and I can't wear most of them, but I relished the thought that I could fit into that one! Way to go! And I bet when you wear that skirt, you will walk taller and strut more…
  • I usually comment on exercise and weight loss but rarely on staying under calories, and don't usually look at diaries unless someone has commented about something specific they ate. I wouldn't blindly compliment staying under calories without looking to see what they ate though, cuz why compliment a day when they starved…
  • It depends on the theatre chain. All are different. I googled it and checked out a few different sites and got numbers ranging from 200 in a small to 1050 in a large with a couple stating around 450 in a medium, but it depends on the theatre. If your sodium-restricted, I wouldn't make a habit of it! And don't forget to…
  • I keep telling my hubby that my best secret for a good calorie day is to sleep through breakfast! Are you implying that might NOT be the best approach? :noway:
  • Well, first let me say CONGRATS on your weight loss so far! And secondly, yeah, depression sucks. Literally, it sucks the life right out of you. I was up and down with depression for several years and was on and off antidepressants for a long time so I know how it feels to not want to make an effort to do anything. (I…
  • It's only one meal - don't worry about it and don't even write off the whole day over it. If you eat sensibly for the rest of the day, it won't even matter. If you're anything like me, one bad meal in the middle of an otherwise reasonable day is still nowhere near what I used to eat in a normal day. And even if you do blow…
  • - Slipping off jeans without unbuttoning them was very cool for me too. - Tossing away a bunch of granny panties and buying new ones that are pretty was also very nice. - Rescuing boxes full of clothes that fit again from the garage. - Fitting into the dress I got married in 11 years ago was the one that made me cry…
  • I highly recommend making small changes and lowering calories gradually. Every other time I've tried to diet, I got SO hungry and couldn't keep it up, but this time I've slowed down and am making it work for ME. Start with cutting out Dr. Pepper (or switching to diet) and eating more (way more) veggies for a week. Then…
  • I've been buying some new stuff as I go and YEAH, it's a great motivator. So is fitting back into some of my old faves. I just bought a bunch of new clothes on holiday right before I started losing weight though and it's sad to see them not fitting very well though. I think I'm going to take some to a tailor and get them…
  • I'm with you - have a day (or weekend) OFF! I do a cheat day every couple of weeks, but especially if I'm going somewhere where it's hard to count the calories. You know what's healthy and what's not - eat MORE of one and LESS of the other. Enjoy yourself, don't stress over the calories and yes, drink lots of water. Have a…
  • Making small changes gradually has worked for me. I realized I can't realistically jump to eating 1200 calories a day so I cut back gradually and that really helped. Eating more (way more!) veggies helped too. And I gotta have my cheat day every couple of weeks so I can still enjoy my indulgences. And YES, the support on…
  • Congrats - that's awesome! Just keep up what you're doing, making small changes as you go and you'll do great! And keep up the positive attitude - that's a big factor too!
  • Hi! It's a great app and a great site - Welcome! The support on here is really a help. I'm sending you a friend request...
  • You DO look great now - what a gorgeous picture! But I won't hold that against you :0) I'm sending a friend request. Welcome to mfp - you'll love it!
  • Oh, you're not alone! I can't fathom a universe in which someone is capable of or willing to do all that, let alone to enjoy it! And are they really going to do that for the rest of their life??? I figure that I will do what I can for as long as I'm getting results and when I stop getting results I'll find a way to change…
  • Be consistent - go with whichever scale you will weigh yourself on regularly.
  • I've never been into social networking or online "friends" but I'm hooked now! It's amazing how motivating it can be to have someone to cheer you on and listen to your ups and downs! Welcome! It is a great, helpful tool with great, helpful people.
