I agree - you have to pick your battles and this is one where I think you can give in to your emotional needs. BUT don't just slink around guiltily eating cheese and feeling bad about it - make a special thing of it and honour your dad's memory. I love the idea of doing something that reminds you of him or that you did…

I know I've see a couple of portion helper sorta things in books. Like, the tip of your thumb is approx a tablespoon, etc. If you google something like portion sizes or something like that you might find something that will help on another site.

Oh, this site will be great for you. Having friends cheer you on is great and keeping track of your calories really helps you get in control of what you're eating. I'm sending you a friend request. Good luck sweetie!

Good for you - you deserve to brag! And you deserve a cheer - HIP HIP HOORAY! And a happy dance, but I'll let you do your own! CONGRATS - you're an inspiration!

I tried to look at your diary but didn't see it there, might be open just to friends? You can friend me if you'd like - it does help to have people to cheer you on & offer tips & support when you need it!

This site will be great for you! It makes it so you're not alone! The support and encouragement from friends helps me to keep healthy choices in the front of my mind and reminds me to keep on track all day. You can friend me if you want. And look around on the forum for some success stories to get you motivated - there's…

EXCELLENT! Good for you! Treat yourself to some new ones - it's amazing how much thinner you look when you wear clothes that fit better. Enjoy!

Yes, unfortunately :O( Those things can really burn up the calories! It's best to stick to water most of the time, although I can't give up my coffee with milk - I convince myself it's "healthy" with lots of milk in it but it does add more calories. Oh well, a gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do. I've given up a lot of…

Calories are sneaky little buggers - they hide in the darndest places and attack when you're not looking! Must be ever vigilant! Welcome - this site is great! Helpful tools, motivating stories and supportive friends - the weight loss triple threat!

Good for you! This may be a dumb question but sodium is not something I really worry about watching and I'm wondering what the effects of sodium are? I know it can make you retain water, and I think it affects blood pressure, but is there anything else? If my BP is okay, is there much to be concerned about?
-
Yay! Every little milestone is a victory! Good for you for sticking with it!
-
I was joking cuz you said "FEEL" you up instead of "FILL" you up. :blushing:
-
bump - my knees have been bugging me too lately
-
I think you should find a cereal that does "feel you up" in the morning - it really starts your day off with a bang! :flowerforyou: But seriously... Have you ever tried Wasa crispbread? I buy the Fibre Rye cuz it has the most fibre and least calories. I like it with peanut butter or guacamole and a slice of cheese. It's…

I use a lot of zucchini & mushrooms - I add it to lots of stuff to get more veg in. And I'm addicted to asparagus. As long as you don't overcook it to mush (which I did the first time and didn't eat it for 10 years cuz I didn't think I liked it!) it's great, yummy & lots of fibre.

Awesome!!!!

Whatever doesn't crawl away from me when I open the fridge. Need to get groceries. And clean out the fridge. But if Pea4jjab has extra, I'm there - that sounds delish!
-
I buy Southern Tsunami Brown Rice California Rolls and they are in the database. Doubt if that's much help though - good luck!
-
That's fabulous - good for you!

Do it! I did the Weekend to End Breast Cancer (in Calgary, Alberta, Canada) 2 years ago and it was one of the most amazing, powerful, emotional experiences of my life! I've never felt so alive, so grateful and so powerful as I did after crossing the finish line. This is a 60 km walk that takes place over 2 days, so we…

Turn it into a real positive by saying that in the last couple of years you've really clarified your goals for your life and know where you want to be personally and professionally and give examples like graduating, healthy lifestyle changes resulting in weight loss, etc. Tell them how those things have helped you learn…

Oh that is AWESOME! Good for you!
-
woot woot! good for you!

upping my fibre really made a difference for me & i'm a big carnivore - i need some protein to keep me full :o) i have read that a little bit of fat helps too, but obviously don't overdo it!
-
I'd consider your 'day' from when you wake up until you go to bed but that's just my opinion :o)

That is SO nice! It is a great site with great people who are so supportive and helpful. It really makes a difference in helping to keep on track and provide extra encouragement when we start to lose our mojo. So thanks for the nice comment and a big thank to everyone you from me too!
