Those who can't do, hate. =) I agree with the "chain gyms" bringing CrossFit style workouts in, labeling it CrossFit and trying to market it to people. The front desk guy was making small talk one morning about why I was there so early, and I mentioned I had CrossFit later. He was like we're trying to get that in here at…

Lift: my guess would be the Jerk. I sort of dread it. The other lifts I've "mastered" skill wise just need to work on moving up with weight. My coaches do get on me about the speed of my lifts. Out of all of them, Snatch, is my prettiest and favorite. Still no double unders here either. I'd like to eventually be able to do…

AMRAP 7 minutes 7 squat snatch from the hang (35#) 7 squat clean from the ground (35#) 75m lunge with plate (10#) I did 2 rounds and 2 squat snatch This was the first workout from the Hopper over the weekend - most people today only got 1-3 rounds We worked on dips and pull ups (unweighted for me)

I've never gone with the knee high socks ... guess I wear my bruises like my calluses, badges of honor? Theres a select few at my box who do but I've never noticed any significant bruising on my legs.

I would read up on the Inov-8's then do some searching for other shoes. I wear Saucony's ... they're a "track" shoe (flat and light). My issue with INOV-8 is they became popular because of crossfit ... just like Air Jordan's became popular and so forth. Some swear by the INOV-8 and others bought into the hype. As far as…

CrossFit 717 has a team and one individual competing. Our individual is part Spartan, I'm pretty sure. I'm going to spectate Saturday; it will be my first ever competition (watching).

30 minute warm up/skills on my own - determined to get those pesky double unders! 21,15,9 of OHS (40#, which is my easiest, wasn't feeling well) and box jumps (20in). then. Run: 800m, 200m, 600m, 200m, 400m, 200m. "This is not a jog" haha I jogged Was not proud of today what so ever. But everyone has bad days. We did…

I think your cat needs some grooming

Pull ups are tough, I still can't do them without a band, strict or kipping. It's that whole pulling myself up I can't get. I have a nice kip and get height but can't finish it. Keep working!

A) I thought the same thing and B) What did happen to Jeeves? We used him for everything ... google.eh.com ... haha literally LOL'ed
-
Haha love it.

The thing about doing it on your own is you lose that competive edge with your fellow box mates but you can always compete against yourself. I've done a few WOD's at "chain gym" and people get in my way, A LOT. But when it comes to the Hero WODS and the Girls you constantly want to increase your time and get up to that…

Maybe look into resistance bands? You're able to use them for many different type of exercises and muslce groups. Even just your basic body movements; lunges, squats, sit ups/crunches, and push ups. As you increase stability and stregnth you start doing them with some dumbbells. Cheaper way is gallon containers of water.…

That's a great time! How much weight on Thrusters? I have yet to do Fran ... I feel like I can't say I CrossFit until I have a Fran time haha

I agree with those who support CrossFit - cult or not it gives you that edge to push yourself one step farther. You challenge yourself, you set small goals in the workout and work until you finish it. It's about honesty and hard work. Yes I still belong to a "chain gym" but I rarely get the same intensity ... It's helped…

Yeah I was just carrying in it in front of me or on my hip. People driving by kept slowing down! 10/31/11 10 RFT: 100 m sprint 10 pull ups 100 m sprint 10 burpees 30 second rest Used a green band and total time was 32:21 11/1/11 21*15*9 Power Snatch (40#) Box Jumps (20 inch) 9:21 Skill was Snatches .... PR was 3 rep at…

10/28/2011 800m run with a 14lb med ball 100 box jumps (20inch) 800m w/med ball 22:11 ... couldn't find an efficient way to carry the ball Skill was prowler pushes - 5x50m @ 135# I also dead lifted the other day at 135# for 4 reps. I was really proud of myself. Anyone else have the Inov-8 F-lite series shoes?

Wishing you the best of luck Kerri!!! You've been a huge inspiration to me! Keep up the hard work

They just make the room feel that much warmer!! Look at any decorating magazine ... they're accents! Fantastic accersories

agree - if you're running get the proper shoe. I bought based on looks (Nike) and ended up getting terrible shin splints while training for a half. Brooks or Saucony would be my vote.

I can't believe the amount of people that put BURPEES!!! Buck Furpees ... =)

Couldn't agree more - might throw a Snatch in there or GHD

I log 0700-0659 the next day (working 12's 7p-7a) It's broken down in 3 hour groups with an entry for supplements. I have access to a computer at work so I either log ahead of time or as I go.

It took me a few classes, as long as I went when it was the same instructor, to get the stuff down. If you enjoyed it keep going. For me it wasn't hardcore enough but it was a fun thing to do on the side.

Most magazines have excellent editing programs to clean up pictures; I haven't seen the cover you speak of but I've seen plenty of other pictures as we as comparison pictures

I usually eat a yogurt or maybe a cliff bar if I'm rushed for time. Sometimes I don't eat anything ... just have to try some things and see what works for you

Agree. It quotes me like 40 and I'm supposed to consume 140g ... I'm on the 1g of protein per pound of body weight.
-
I've done that a total of 3 times now ... the worse was in our 'cardio cinema' which is pitch black and I was alone ... I could've died ... maybe. haha
