I know it sounds hokey, but one day at a time is key. If you skipped the gym a few days, a week, whatever, just decide to go tomorrow and go. And if you can only go for 30 mins or 20 mins, that's ok, its something. Think small steps, small changes, rather than huge, overwhelming changes and committments. Hope that helps.

Hi. The more the merrier, I will send you a friend request as well.

I weigh myself on Thursday morning. I try not to weigh myself any more than that or it can get discouraging.

Hi Katie. I think logging in every day and tracking your food is a great way to stay on track. It keeps you accountable. Its a little daunting at first, but once you get used to doing it, it's easy. Planning ahead is also key for me. I know what I am going to eat and that way I don't have to make a rush decision about what…

That is great! I am trying to get to the point of running one as well. I'm hoping to be able to do it by the end of the summer.

I definitely can identify. I was doing good, started a running program, lost a few pounds, and then I went on vacation for 4 days. That killed it for me. When I got back I just couldn't get back into the swing of things. I have all these motivators too, but just couldn't get myself to keep with anything. Last night i just…

It makes a great breakfast. Portion it out into a bowl, I think 1 cup is about 140 calories. Add 2 or 3 packets of splenda or whatever sweetener you like, then add in some fresh fruit (I like berries or melon), then sprinkle on some Kashi Go Lean Crunch or Special K granola for crunch. I eat this for breakfast a lot, and…

Welcome! I have found this site really helpful, lots of good info and support. The keys for me are logging what I eat and working out. I know if I don't include exercise I am not going to lose any weight. Start slow, and don't beat yourself up when you have a bad day, everyone has bad days. Feel free to add me as a friend…

I have never been a runner either, but recently decided I wanted to give it a try. I found a website www.coolrunning.com which has a great training guide "couch to 5k in 9 weeks". Also, if you have iTunes, there is a podcast by Robert Ullery, he has one for every week and he puts music with the vocal cues on when to run,…

I started this program last week. Today was W2D2 for me. I actually ran W2D1 yesterday and didn't give it a day of rest, and now my shins hurt, so I will definitely take a day of rest tomorrow, I'll just walk. I have never been a runner, but that is my goal this summer, to learn to run. I want to be able to run for 30…

I really like having mini goals. Even though i want to lose 50 lbs, that is a lot of weight and the idea of it is daunting. So I set my sight on the first 10 pounds. Also, one you lose that first dress/pant size, you really get motivated to keep going. I agree that dinner is hard, especially if you are cooking for others…

Hi Amanda, like many others I am also at an all time high weight. After 2 kids and having no time for working out or paying attention to what I am eating, here I am. I recently joined this site as well and find it helps to track everything, even when I fall off the wagon. Just stay positive and keep looking ahead. It's…
