BEAUTIFUL!!! Job well done.

Agreed - water retention. I go up about 2 lbs the day after strength training - worse if I don't eat enough carbs before and after. It stablizes after 24-48 hrs and plenty of water.
-
That's amazing!!! Congratulations!

I would have responded the same way! I am almost 25 lbs in, and no one has noticed yet. But I have so it's cool ;-).

I agree - my first few days on MFP, I drank 12-15 glasses of MFP. Voila - no headache...and I am a migraine sufferer.

Yes, as well as being overweight in general. Have not seen mine since June, but I am starting to feel the symptoms of PMS.

Like another poster, make sure you get enough water. Also, make sure you have an adequate amount of protein at each meal to keep that tummy full. Double check your daily calories - they may be too low, and eat back some of what you burn from exercise. HTH

Jesus! You look so fantastic! Way to go - what an amazing transformation.

Monday, right after I wake up. Just because it is the beginning of a new week, and I started on a Monday. I am thinking of changing to Friday or Saturday, because I can't really relax on the weekends. I don't really eat over my calories, but while out and about, I tend to be around more indulgent foods that may stick on me…

EXACTLY!!! I will - thanks.

See, this is what I am talking about! You guys are the best. So much love - thanks a bunch!!!

Depression, anti-social, hypertension, being over 300 lbs, (pre) pre-diabetes/metabolic syndrome, no energy for my son. The list goes on. I believe that if I had just one ailment, it would have not had the same effect. But I started to be afraid for my husband to leave me alone with our son. I was afraid that I would have…

Absolutely!

Love it! Men can be a pain, but it is flattering!

Welcome to MFP! I just started here about 7 weeks ago, and I have lost 20 lbs. I have some insulin resistance issues. MFP is the greatest place to be - so much support. Feel free to friend me and good luck!
-
Thanks a lot...next will be a visit from the WHOOSH FAIRY

Don't listen to the naysayers. Everyone's body is different. Stick to your plan and your goals. Please join us on the Atkins Support Thread! Tons of support, tips, and, most of all, results!!! Hang in there. It really sucks how some people turn MFP into Mean Girls or the HS lunch table. Grrrr!

So excited! Just tested my urine - I am in ketosis. Started Induction just yesterday.
-
Need help. I am on day 2 of induction. My daily cals are set to 1590. I worked out today and burned 675 cals. As of right now (6:31 PM), I have only eaten 645 calories made up of 34 g of fat, 19 g of carbs (11 net carbs), and 67 g of protein), so I have consumed negative calories so far. I have also drank 16 cups of water,…

I definitely don't mind you asking. What I would do is eat 1300-1400 per day, but also eat about 60%-70% of the exercise calories back. That should keep your metabolism going strong.

BMR and TDEE are two different numbers. Your TDEE is probably 1810 per day. If you are set to 1 lb per week, that would give you a suggested daily calorie total of 1310. Remember, BMR is what is burned doing absolutely nothing, whereas your TDEE is driven by your regular activity level (Sedentary, Lightly Active, etc.). HTH

The next day for me! Good luck!

I appreciate all of the advice on this forum. I had my first day of induction yesterday without any headaches or dizziness. I made sure to include some salt and drank 15 cups of water to avoid dehydration. Day 2 is going well so far! Thanks everyone!!!

I have not ventured into trying any types of flour or grains yet. I am trying to get ideas for when I get to OWL? How much should I expect to lose during Induction period? I am currently 292 lbs, normal BMI weight is 159 lbs, and my goal weight is 137 lbs. Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for keeping this group going. For the past 8 weeks, I have been tracking my intake with MFP, and experimenting with my eating. I have lost 20 lbs so far, but it seems slow for someone that is morbidly obese. Don't get me wrong, I want to lose slowly, but I want to have an optimal plan. I don't want to…

Do what works best for you. Maybe you can try Atkins for a month or 2 and see where it takes you. Honestly, I think changing your lifestyle is a trial and error process. What works for someone needing to lose 20 lbs may not work for a pre-diabetic who needs to lose 100+ lbs. Right now, I am insulin resistant and super low…

You look beautiful! Love your arms!

My lifestyle is similar to yours. I based my choice on my lifestyle without exercise, and used sedentary. HTH

Your transformation is amazing!!! Great job!

That is wonderful. Glad to hear it!
