I'm down 61 (with 140+ lbs to go). My coworker notices and I notice. No one else has said anything, but more people are asking me if I'm walking (during lunch) and people are looking at me like "hmm".

I don't know much about water weight theory, but I will say that I don't count it out, so to speak. Meaning that those initial losses matter to me. Water weight or not, it is still a bunch of weight that I'm no longer carrying. :smile:

Sounds like your body did the initial dump of water weight, fluid, etc. that many dieters experience. No matter what, it's great that your body is responding to the positive changes! Best of luck to you!

My doctor is kind of heavy, but if she was bigger, it wouldn't bother me. When she gives me diet tips, she seems to really feel my frustration. Plus, she is trying to lose weight, so she can give me her own personal testimony. She is a human first, a doctor second :-).

While I am not a huge fan of the BMI scale, it exists for a reason and should not be totally discounted. The average person should fall within (or very close to) the ranges given. I am day to day. Yesterday I wasn't hungry at all. Today, I am starving. I just try to eat small meals all day long and have at least 10 cups of water. Give it time. You are not very far from your goal, so your body will not let the weight go so easily. Focus on how your clothes fit, exercise endurance, and flexibility. Body fat loss is usually not seen on the scale immediately. HTH

Yes, it became discouraging, so I quit on 8/31 until my next weigh-in in early 2012. The scale was derailing my progress.

I usually snack on tuna, slices of turkey and cheese, or chicken breast.
