  • I'm a maintainer (eight years now) and when I am logging, I don't log diet soda, mustard, vitamins, the occasional SF gum, a few sliced pickles, stevia (without fillers), etc. Nor do I log spices or anything else legitimately calorie free or < 5 calories. Never had a problem losing or maintaining weight this way. I do log…
  • I do about 2K, sometimes more, and I'm about 120/5'4 and 44 years old. So sounds right to me! :)
  • I'm a vegetarian and rarely eat rice, potatoes or pasta. There is so much more! =) As others have said, there's plenty of protein out there, even if you rely on the packaged stuff to start out with. Seitan is yummy and easy to make.. Beans/legumes/quinoa. Kale Chips (Yum!), lentils and chickpeas.. If you eat eggs, eggs and…
  • Definitely eat more! I am also 5'4, 44 years old and around 120 and I eat around 1900-2K/day, after eating back exercise calories. So 1200 would make me completely unable to function! =)
  • I love quorn. Have had it several times a week for years now and have never had any sort of problem. To me, it's SO much better tasting and more realistic than the soy 'chicken'.
  • I'm 5'4 and I eat 2Kish per day, total - generally 1350-1500 net. I do a lot of farm work and running, so I use a fitbit for most things and log in specific exercise with a HRM. When I tried to stick to 1500 without eating exercise back.. woooowhee I was a nasty *kitten*. :) Oh, and I'm 44 years old (ugh) and about 120…
  • I'm married and happy, but if I hadn't met my current hubby I would have been fine not being married. l get along just fine solo. Don't stress about it - I get the same kind of flak for not wanting kids "Oh, when you're older you'll change your mind". Hey, I'm almost 45.. Believe me yet? :P
  • For the peeps at the beginning of the thread who wanted someone who lost on > 1200 cals and kept it off, that could be me. :P I'm 5'4, 120ish right now and lost 50 pounds about 8 years ago. I never ever went below 1500, and often sat at around 1800 (gross, not net). I did do quite a bit of exercise, but not crazy amounts.…
  • I'm 44, 5'4 and 122 and losing (slowly) on about 1900-2K cals/day. I do exercise, however. :)
  • /agree. I do sometimes eat 1200 net when I have a very busy day and can't get in 2500+ calories, but not all the time. My husband would throw me out on the street. I'm 5'4 and 122 #. And I'm 44, not a teen with a great metabolism. :P
  • I lose weight easily on 1500 cals (total, not net), and I'm only 120 pounds.. If I ate 1K I'd be so hungry I'd have to stay in bed all day..not to mention I'd start gnawing on my shoe (mmmm.. shoe). My husband would probably leave me because I'd be a horrible person to be around.. What fun! :P
  • As an almost vegan, I go to truenutrition.com and get the vegan mix protein, stevia sweetened. It's better than it sounds! :)
  • I eat about 2K/day (not net) and am 44 years old, 120 pounds (5'4).. I am really active, however! today was a ridiculous day as far as activity goes - with my fitbit on MFP is telling me to eat 600 more calories just to 'net' 1200.. And I'm already at 2K. :P I didn't log yesterday and ate quite a bit so it will all even…
  • I logged for years after I lost weight.. but after logging for that long and eating the SAME things every single day (except for my free day), I stopped logging. And I actually didn't gain any weight. I'd still weigh/measure certain foods to keep me honest, but I didn't feel the need to log - it's quite easy to keep…
  • I am 44 and I *think* I am. I have had one cycle in the last year and only a few from 40-44. However, my doc refuses to believe it. :) No hot flashes, but I think I did all that waay back in peri. :P I'm getting my levels again in a few months and we shall see. My guess is that my relatively large weight loss about 8 years…
  • I've been vegetarian for years..I also have my own pet chickens for eggs and try to limit my dairy. My husband is not vegetarian, but I love him anyways. I feel great, and I am much healthier in general than the hubby, but I don't think it has anything to do with meat eating - he eats nothing but (non meat) junkfood with…
  • I'm new here, but just saw this topic.. I'm a vegetarian - I'd be vegan but I eat eggs from my own pet chickens. =) Hi all!
