  • ^^This is true. Most people are trying to become healthier. A little encouragement and acceptance may make all the difference for some people to keep persevering, and sticking with it or becoming discouraged and giving up. After all, most of us on MFP are here to become healthier and are looking for support from like…
  • Just my opinion, but I would prefer smelling perfume/cologne than BO.
  • A lot of sources say weight loss is 80% eating less calories than you burn, 10% exercise, and 10% genetic. Unless you eat less calories than you burn, it would be difficult to lose weight. Exercising 4 hours per day would increase appetite in most people and most would consume more calories perhaps than they would if they…
  • Well, everyone is new at some point. I joined a gym on 1/25/15 for the first time in my life. I have been there every day since then. I did not join to have to wait around for the piece of equipment I want to use, so I made a conscious effort to join a gym where I was able to go 24/7. I opt to go very early. No problem…
  • On my PC. I charge mine every other day, and it is usually at about 1/2 charge. ^JW, how do your charge it with your iphone wall charger. My iphone charger is totally different from my Fitbit Charge HR charger.
  • Another vote for skinnytaste.com
  • Chia seeds, sliced almonds, ground flax and unsweetened coconut.
  • The sandwich rounds are about 90-100 calories, and you can use them as a bun for hamburger/turkey burger too. Low calorie tortilla are another option. Today for lunch I had one with 1 slice of turkey and Dijon mustard. I use the La Tortilla Factory mini's which are 50 calories and I roll them up. My fav is multi grain take…
  • ^This and you have to reinforce the notion, CONSTANTLY, that she is great in so many ways. Being healthy is part of it, but there is so much more to each of us. A lot of important characteristics that make them into the person they are. I have a 30 yo DD, and she has thanked me numerous times for stressing that fact when…
  • Sounds like you are handling this well while your daughter is with you. You do need to have a talk with Dad about this. He needs to get on board and help with this.
  • Minutes to Prepare: 5 Minutes to Cook: 20 Number of Servings: 18 Ingredients 1 box spice cake mix 1 (15-ounce) can pure pumpkin puree Directions Simply mix the pumpkin and the spice cake mix powder together and drop by heaping tablespoons into greased muffin cups. • Since weight loss is 80% diet, maybe you should make changes to eat healthier as a family. Exercise is important, but for weight loss you need to teach her that you have to eat less calories than you burn. Children learn by example and if she sees that you are making an effort to become healthier, maybe she will want to…
  • Some quinoa comes pre rinsed. But, yes, you do have to rinse it if it is not pre rinsed. It has a bitter coating, saponin, that needs to be rinsed off. Fine mesh strainers are inexpensive, so it would be a wise investment unless you buy the pre rinsed.
  • ^^This. Diet is the foods you eat. For those of us trying to lose weight, we are eating (or should be) eating less calories than we burn daily.
  • ^^and a lot of things in it (sodium, sugar) that you can eliminate by making it yourself. Made from scratch tastes better and is better for you. There are a lot of recipes for overnight oatmeal that you can Google. The possibilities are endless. Also add chia seeds and ground flax for more protein.
  • Eat it. Work it into your calories. Good cheese is worth it. A lot of people here say you should eat only the best chocolate, but I disagree. I have tried them and always go back to my Dove dark chocolate caramel with sea salt promises, I am not a chocolate snob. However, when it comes to cheese, I am a snob. I have…
  • Your charm bracelet/charms, does sound like a very nice idea. My reward was buying smaller sizes. All the way down from a tight 24W to size 8 in some brands. Pretty big incentive for me.
  • Our employer put in standing desks for some of us last year. My fellow employees think I am nuts because, while I am standing, I march in place. I just laugh because those steps add up. My fit bit & I manage to get in a lot of steps everyday, so that is all that counts.
  • I had a similar pizza last night I used 2 LaTortilla Factory Mini Soft Wraps Fiesta, Contadina pizza sauce, red onions, mixed bell peppers, and black olives, with fresh mozzarella and some shaved parmesan (not a lot of cheese, just a bit scattered on top). I pre baked the tortillas before putting on the toppings. Total…
  • Well Sweetie, that is the thing, it does get easier. It especially helps when you keep losing. It makes the motivation strong to keep going. Going down sizes is a great feeling. The success stories here are a big part of what kept me going. I weigh 130 now and have been on maintenance for 2 years, so that is how I know you…
  • Your photo shows a beautiful young woman. Trust me, you can do this. With the support of your loved ones, MFP, and your therapist, you can succeed. Always remember you are worth it. Stairs are a killer, believe me I know. I started out at 290# and could barely walk up a flight of stairs without becoming winded. Use the…
  • Yes, you can most definitely do this. Many of us here are foodies (it is how I got to be obese in the first place). Love to cook, love to eat and we are good at it. There are more healthy, fantastic tasting recipes, available for anyone's tastes. The possibilities are at your fingertips. Best of luck!
  • Congratulations! You look fantastic. Very inspiring!
  • Calories in, calories out. Depends on how you want to spend them. Personally, I drink very little of my calories. I get more satisfaction from chewing them. Whatever works. It is entirely a personal choice. However, there is the nutrition aspect of the whole process, it is up to you.
  • I began MFP 3/12/12 @ age 60, 290#. Arrived at maintenance on 11/8/13 at 130.5#, where I am currently. I did not have a difficult time losing, but really could not go much above 1200 calories without gaining. I am 5'3". I have come to the conclusion that partly because of my age, I did not need the number of calories…
  • I have had a fit bit for 3 years. First a One, then a Force (no longer available) and I got a ChargeHR last June. To me, they are the best invention ever. I love Fit Bit. I am seriously thinking about up grading to their new Blaze. It is the perfect device to motivate me to move more.
  • I just got an email that they are changing the recipe as they have had so many complaints about this. BTW, the pumpkin spice ones were awful, and I love pumpkin spice anything.
  • If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is not true. There are no gimmicks, oral or physical that can get you into better shape. Hard work, perseverance and genetics are the only way. ...................and, it is just going to push it somewhere else, and they can't be comfortable. The last place I would want to feel…
