There are a lot of recipes for eggs using little (if any fat) check out pinterest. Our favorites are using muffin tins and bake them in the oven. You can add your own ingredients. I use a lot of veggies in ours, but you can add ham, bacon, sausage, cheese, or whatever. They freeze very nicely and I wrap them individually…

My salad is always the same ingredients, so I entered my "recipe" for salad and always use that. Quick and easy.

Good. A well balanced diet is good. Moderation and portion control.

Good for you! It sounds like you have a great outlook on this. It will be 3 years for me of maintaining in November, if I make it. I don't foresee myself, ever, not obsessing about food, and I am good with that as long as I can maintain my weight. It is just the way it is, and always will be, for me.
-
Total commitment.

^^I guess that this pretty much sums it up for me too. Every...........single...........day. Although, I have directed my obsessing to healthier choices..............most of the time ;) Congratulations, and may we all continue to maintain!

Eating more calories than you burn leads to weight gain. My problem was never one particular food. I overate.................everything. Learning moderation and portion control of all foods was key for me, and continues to be in maintaining. There are no demon foods. As with most things regarding becoming healthier, you…

Easiest way is to avoid processed, packaged foods, juice and sugary drinks.

Every day, and have had a treat every day since 2 months in to MFP. I fit it in to my daily calories. I wouldn't have made it to almost 3 years on maintenance with out my daily treat.(lost over 1/2 of my current body weight)

I am kind of a sucker for pumpkin spice anything, and I try everything I see. The only thing I have not liked (so far) is the Quest bars and chewing gum. I love the coffemate, and the coffee. I am looking forward to the Cheerios and will be in line to buy them. It says they are made with pumpkin puree. The donuts (both…

Everyone is different. OP do what works best for you. Almost all food was trigger food for me. I ate too much of everything. So, "moderation in all foods" has worked best for me. I lost over 1/2 of my current body weight and have kept it off for 33 months (and counting). Plus there was no transition into maintenance for me…

OP, have you tried products that you add to water? There are tons of flavors and brands out there and even less calories than your Kool Aid. My favorite is raspberry lemonade. ^^me too. I know people do not get that, but I have always thought that drinking diet pop saves some calories at least, even if you are consuming…

I get up REALLY early and go to the gym before I go to work. I start work at 5 a.m. I have a long commute (45 minutes one way), and work 11 hours per day, 5 days per week (and some Saturdays) so I know that I will be too tired to go to the gym after work. I really like have my gym time over first thing of the long day, so…

Romaine lettuce salad with raw broccoli slaw, radish, red onion, raw snap pea pod, cucumber, and raw cauliflower, with a delicious raspberry vinaigrette. My morning snack was raw carrots, celery and bell pepper.

Almond milk is more expensive here than cow's milk too. Almond milk is $2.00/quart. I buy milk for $2.29/gallon (Minnesota) @ Kwik Trip, but that is cheap for here, and more expensive at the grocery stores. You can make your own almond milk pretty easily, but it is expensive. I have made it myself but would rather buy the…

Congratulations! Everything about your story is inspiring and beautiful! Very well done!

Why bother? Because each and everyone one of us is worth the bother, and because you have done so well and can continue to your goal. What has worked for me is all food in moderation (yes chocolate everyday), and sticking to portion sizes. It is all about CICO. I lost over 1/2 of my current body weight and have kept it off…

An inch thick, NY strip, grilled medium so it is a little pink. Seasoned with salt, pepper & onion powder.

I too think about food all the time. Planning what I am going to eat next. I love food, plain and simple. I love shopping for it, preparing it and consuming it. Just the way it is, and I accept it and really don't consider it a problem any longer. Label reading and shopping for and preparing healthier foods has become my…

@Packerjohn, did you read her original post? Why isn't it perfectly fine? Her question was she was told it is cheating and that it is basically making her diet worthless, which is blatantly untrue. I lost over 160# and have kept it off for over 2-1/2 years having a treat every, single day since June of 2012, when a thread…

First with losing the weight, and now on maintenance for over 2-1/2 years,I have been "treating" myself with 1 piece of dark chocolate for over 3 years now. My very favorite is Dove dark chocolate caramel with sea salt promises. Believe it or not, milk chocolate is now way too sweet for me (thank goodness), and the 1 piece…

Doesn't sound like cheating to me. I managed to lose over 1/2 of current body weight and have kept it off for over 2-1/2 years so far, by allowing myself to have a treat everyday for staying within my calories. Works for me and sounds like it is working for you OP. Sustainability is key for maintaining for me. PS I would…

Seriously, people need to educate themselves and use some common sense. To condemn one food is ridiculous. If you consume more calories than you burn you gain weight. This is fact. Just as, if you consume less calories than you burn, you lose weight. Simple fact.
-
Nope, they gained because they ate more calories than they burned. Drinks have calories too, and they count.

That is what she should say, if that is what she means. There are plenty of reasons to avoid overeating any food. The best way to avoid added sugar (among other things that are added ie: sodium) is to avoid overly processed foods and eating at restaurants or fast food. Cut out sweets and alcohol. If that is what you want…
-
Why? It is not sustainable and there is no good reason for, no sugar. All foods in moderation, portion control and staying within your calorie limit.
-
What about salads? I know you said mushy, but you can really do a lot with salads. Vegetable juice. You can make it yourself.
-
Total commitment from the very first day, that this would be the last time that "I will start over tomorrow". It is now almost 53 months from that day, and 32 months on maintenance.
-
You can absolutely do this! Have you consulted with your health care professional? I ask because I lost over 1/2 of my current body weight and my doctor has been a great advocate for me since the very beginning. It has really helped me to know that what I am doing is approved by my physician. Best of luck to you!

My favorite is tuna mixed with dill and chopped red onion. Last week I tried one of those Starkist tuna pouches with lemon pepper, it was surprisingly good.
