I too have started SL 5x5 and I love it. My only question is, even on the days where I'm resting, should I still be striving to get the same amount of carbs, fats, and proteins that I get on days that I do work out? I have them set at 40/30/30 and it can be difficult to hit those (especially protein), so I wasn't sure if…

I hit my goal of 190 (6'2" male) about a week ago and have a range that I like to stay within of 188-192. I constantly go back and forth between the high side and the low side. When I am at 188 I eat a little more than normal, and when I am at 192 I eat at a small deficit. I am pretty happy with the results.

@jeepinshawn Thanks for the info! I was thinking of doing the eggs and oatmeal for breakfast, then Greek yogurt with some protein mixed in and maybe a peanut butter sandwich or something for lunch. I have chicken quite a bit (as my wife is an excellent cook with it) for dinner so that'll help too I'm sure!

Thanks all for the information. I downloaded the stronglifts 5x5 app on my iphone and read about how it works on their website, so I am going to start using that soon too. I'm excited to start everything! Now I just need to keep my motivation up!

Thanks everyone for your replies. @jmule24 that post was very helpful, thanks. And thank you for the macro formula, that'll help a lot. @gia07 yeah I have heard that the hardest part is keeping up with protein. Do you have any kind of protein powder that you use?

I really want to start a recomp, but I'm not sure if I am there yet? I am a 6'2" male maintaining between 188-192 lbs. I am near the top of the normal range of the BMI chart, but have not been able to measure my BF%. Sorry if this has already been answered but I can't sift through 31 pages of comments lol. Am I good to…

Just out of curiosity, I went to your page and it says that you live in IL but then it also says that you live in MI? Odd coincidence but I'm also 24 and live in MI. Anyway, is it Illinois or Michigan? Haven't heard much from MGK. Your music taste is good thus far so maybe I'll check it out.

When people eat. I hate listening to chewing and silverware hitting plates. If I hear it in a movie I will literally get up and walk out of the room.

doesn't look like I will be hitting it. I'm only down 7 lbs since January 1st!

I like most things that have been mentioned on here...and I don't want to relist them all but right now I am watching Supernatural and The Walking Dead. I have watched Dr. Who here and their but I haven't been able to sit and watch it a lot because of time constraints. Also, I haven't read through everything so I might be…

I'm not on a very good trajectory for this haha. When I joined this thread I was 210 and now I am at 205. That's 3 weeks and not very much weight!

That was epic. I'm not necessarily a Seahawks fan...but I am not a Packers fan (I'm from Michigan...therefore Lions fan). So watching that was awesome.

When I used to work in a factory I hurt my back. I did ALOT of stretching in physical therapy, that really helps loosen you up. Mostly stretches that you do lying on a mat, crossing your legs and all that good stuff. Maybe yoga would be good for that? I've never done yoga before. After that I would suggest walking on a…

I already am doing one of these with my wife but I'll join since it is essentially the same thing (we are doing 20 before March 7th which is my birthday). I started at 210 and am at 209. So I don't know if I will get there but I will certainly try!

I don't argue against ignorance. That should be a bumper sticker.

Yeah I think you're right. A little off topic, but I think that we just made MFP history. The first discussion that didn't inevitably turn into a hate fest! Someone should definitely mark this day down.
