Both the bodybuilding trainers I spoke to said you get what you pay for . I guess there was a study a few years ago testing the actual protein content of many different brands and only the more expensive ones had the actual dosage listed on the bottle inside as well. Said the supplement market is not very regulated.
-
So you just buy a package of chicken breasts, sprinkle some salt and pepper then bake?
-
Thanks! I thought about the protein shakes just not sure I want to spend $75 However often. Maybe I'll hard boil some eggs!

Not trying to defend her, but she has said multiple times in this very thread that she doesn't count calories. Which is why she can't tell you how many she's eating.
-
Haha! Good point. Thanks for the fix.
-
LOL nutrient sense foods don't seem to matter on here. Lot of people losing 100 to 200 pounds eating cake and KFC.
-
Thanks man. So did you just stick to CICO? Not caring what type of food it is? I do a full body weight lifting workout every other day. But no cardio? I've had so many people tell me that cardio doesn't do a whole lot for weight loss. More just a way to create a slightly larger defector and weight lifting is much more…

Congrats on your success. I'm curious if it was easier for you because you didn't really have much to lose. Versus me who has 150 pounds to lose?
-
Just started logging in MFP today. Used another service before. Yes, weigh almost everything. Learned my lesson after finding out my 2tbsp of PB weighed more than the 32g the package listed.
-
How long do you think I should wait until I start seeing a steady loss again?
-
Hi Thank you. Last few days im around 1000 to 1500 cals a day now. I workout every other day. Up to 4 sets (8 reps each) of squats, bench press, dead lift, shoulders and arms.
-
Hey!!!! Remember me??? I started this thread! Can I just ask another question before we go back to 10 more pages of arguing haha. So do I just keep going for another month and hope th scale starts to move? I don't think I can cut my calories back much more.

Keep posting. I like looking at your avatar.
-
Woh. What happened to this thread? Lol

5 foot 11. 369 pounds. Started at 390. Lost 20 of the 21 in the first 2 weeks. Have lost only 1 pound since starting weight lifting.
-
That's what scares me. I'll be going on 3 weeks of weight lifting with only 1 pound lost. If I'm not building muscle, then I must be retaining a TON of water. I should have lost AT LEAST 6 pounds of fat in that time. More like 8 to 10 considering my deficit. Am I holding on to 6 to 10 pounds of water due to the lifting?…
-
Is this true? I could be at a 1000 calorie deficit but if I'm at a carb/glycogen is full I can still gain fat?
-
Curious what everyone thinks of this article from Harvard. http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2012/06/when-a-calorie-is-not-just-a-calorie/
-
The issue seems to be that many scientists don't agree that cals in/cals out is science. They believe it's not a law at all.
-
Should I stop weight lifting for now? I just checked and have only lost 1 pound in 12 days. And that's with a 10,000 calorie defecit per week. Heck, even if I was somehow misweighing food and was off by five THOUSAND calories, I should still be at least 2-3 pounds lost in that time.
-
Would it make sense then to not even starchy stuff so I'm never in the green and always in the blue?
-
My doc put me on a pill that makes the thought of food sound very unappealing. I've had a banana and some peanut butter today. The less calories I eat the more I burn, I guess.
-
I don't really know all the science to be honest. But my doc put me on a pill that makes the thought of food sound very unappealing. I've had a banana and some peanut butter today. The less calories I eat the more I burn, I guess. Yeah I try to do heavy. As heavy as I can. I do 6 to 8 reps whatever it is to failure, and 4…

I thought it was funny too. Guess it's a little more serious here than other forums I've been on.
-
Wow part 2. Thank you. I'm in my late 20's ... 5 foot 11 inches ... 369 pounds. I eat around 600 to 1200 calories a day. I'm going to re-read your post a few times
-
Wow. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much man.
-
Oops! Didn't know . Thanks for telling me.
-
Sorry I'm not as smart as you? What is common sense for some is not common for others.
-
Is there actual evidence that shows this?
