  • Yep, I hear it too. I'm at a healthy weight; I know that. But I'm not at the weight where I feel most comfortable and where I fit into my clothes. I've been wearing the same clothes for the last five summers and this year -- after getting married last fall -- I didn't! I put on ten pounds and it makes me crazy. I've taken…
  • Let's just let everyone and anyone use the site in a manner which is most productive for them. It is irksome that any individual believes that what is right for him/her is right for everyone. Now, OP, do me a favor and use proper punctuation. If YOU'RE going to throw stones, at least speak (type) properly.
  • I started looking for information last night and there is a bunch of stuff on the internet about the Mediterranean Diet. What I'd like to find, however, are recipes that are Mediterranean diet suitable that uses ingredients more typical to my shopping.
  • Yes, I'm a patter. Every little bit counts, I figure. Besides, that grease sometimes just looks gross.
  • I'm on a 10-day course, not quite so bad, and thus far it's been ok. 20 mg twice a day for 5 days, then 20 mg once a day for 5 days. I start my fifth day tomorrow and I'm holding steady. But maybe it's not a high enough dose for weight gain, or long enough duration.
  • When I'm having a drink to be social or simply because I *want* one, I'll have the alcohol of choice in a diet soda. E.g., cherry vodka in diet coke/pepsi. Or Captain Morgan's spiced rum in diet coke/pepsi. And stick to ONE. I understand not wanting to DRINK calories; it does seem useless. But at least this drink…
  • I just googled .... " The amount of sodium in sweat averages about 500 mg sodium/lb sweat ..." So 500 mg per pound of sweat would be a lot of sweat, lol. :)
  • If you're not symptomatic, then I wouldn't worry. But if you develop shortness of breath, easily fatigued, chest pain, light-headedness...then seek medical help.
  • OK, I don't know if it's related or not BUT I have lost 3 pounds this week. Maintaining my calorie goal AND drinking the apple cider vinegar (3 TBL a day in 24 ounces of water). ALSO ... apple cider vinegar is supposed to be a preventative measure for urinary tract infections. Well, at the ripe old age of 52, I got my…
  • I just bought some. I had read that it is to be unfiltered cider vinegar, not just regular grocery store vinegar. So I bought some at GNC today. Heck, can't hurt to try!
  • http://www.food.com/recipe/san-francisco-pork-chops-or-chicken-breasts-191989 That's my daughters' favorite recipe.
  • Thank you! You too! I am enjoying the site; I know WHAT to do .. I just gotta knuckle down and do it! :)
  • Good to find this thread. I've been feeling guilty about spending calories on a glass of wine...sometiimes two...a night. I got into the habit of having a glass of Riesling while making dinner. Now it's a habit, and I often have a glass WITH dinner too. That's about 300 calories I DON'T need to spend. But dang. I enjoy it.…
  • 52 year old mother of 21-year-old triplet girls, nurse and soon to be "wife" again. Just found this thread; I've been on the site for about 2 weeks. I used to use SparkPeople and had wonderful success there but their mobile app is much harder to use. So now I'm a "myfitnesspal" fan! Nice to meet you all.
  • Heya! Trying to get back into the swing of things myself. Best of luck!
  • I'm 5'5" and my goal weight range is 125 to 128, no lower, no higher. I like to give myself a small range that like. That's where I feel most comfortable and I maintained that for years. Just the last year I've put on 6 pounds and it's been driving me crazy! I have a small frame.
  • I'm a nurse too and nurses *are* supposed to provide guidance in health behaviors. I'm also a stickler for accurate information so I would have asked her based on what research was she making that recommendation since all other clinicians you had been working with were very pleased with your weight & BMI. There are idiot…
  • Pixie. Hence, my screen name. :)
