  • I give myself motivational pep talks when I'm driving. Such as: Overeating makes me feel like crap mentally and physically. Eating normal foods at my calorie goal makes me feel really good mentally and physically. It sounds really dumb typed out, but I often forget when I'm faced with something I want to eat A LOT of, that…
  • This is just an opinion based upon years and years of buying supplements. They are usually a waste of money. But again, I don't know enough about what they want you to take. A physician once told me that supplements are a waste, because most are not manufactured to be absorbed by the body - I do not know whether that…
  • Don't give up! You could take a more relaxed approach though...I eat whatever I want as long as it fits into my calories for the day. I don't count carbs, sugar, sodium, etc.
  • Then give her a fake journal based on the foods she's allowing, and use mfp as a real journal to eat what you like within your macros. I seriously doubt a trainer will kick you out of the group for not following her eating plan to a tee if you are paying for it. She's not making money from you if you aren't there.
  • I love seeing the pics - keep coming with them!! Has anyone done any kettlebell swings to help with the lower body?? I am starting to incorporate them into my exercise program, and I swear I could feel it from the top of my butt down to my knees + inner thighs.
  • That's what I love about being a pear - you get to keep your booty!! You look AMAZING!!!!!!
  • Wow, impressive!!
  • I'm not a veggie fan either! I've lost 60 pounds so far (40 to go), and I probably eat pizza 2-3 times a week. I've found that it's easier to stick to my calories when I'm eating what I like, instead of cutting out certain foods.
  • Yes, go to a doctor please! They will take you seriously if you tell them what you just wrote here. 113 pounds at 5'5" is pretty thin, but you don't have to be extremely underweight to have an eating disorder. Please take care of yourself! We are always most critical of ourselves - it can be a long journey to self…
  • I just wanted to add that I have PCOS, and I have no problems eating high carb and losing weight. I don't think it's accurate to say that every woman who has PCOS is insulin resistant. I have lost 59 pounds so far, with probably another 20 to go depending on how I look and feel. Good luck to you!
  • Thank you for saying that properly executed lifts put little stress on the elbows - that's exactly what I needed to hear. I am trying not to let this elbow crap get in the way, which is why I thought I should ask some questions from those who have the experience.
  • You sound just like me - "as long as I don't do anything with that arm". I should go see a PT, thanks. I have only ever went to a physician, and all I get told is "there's nothing to be done". My joint is completely wrecked. I can't even do a push up.
  • You look amazing! I think the dislike I have for my shape is because that's where I gain weight first and lose weight last. It's just annoying. When I'm at my "normal" weight, I actually like it, because I always have a flat stomach and a shapely booty! I'd much rather have my butt than a pancake butt, that's for sure!
  • I tried it for heartburn once when I was pregnant. It made me puke, which stopped the heartburn for a while. Win!
  • You look amazing! Great job!!
  • Thanks for the details - I'm definitely adding squats and lunges to my routine. I'm at 166 now, and still a loose size 14. Maybe I could fit into a 12, but I'm too scared to try!!!
  • This was me too!!! Thank goodness they didn't "look" like maternity pants to the untrained eye!
  • To stop wasting money on diet book after diet book after diet book. If I could have all of that money back....
  • This is me exactly! Or, it used to be me exactly! I would feel good, so I would think I deserved a "reward". Plus, it's way more fun to go out when you're feeling good about yourself! This time around, I log everything. So, even if I go out, it gets logged. It helps me to stay within a reasonable calorie range, even if I'm…
  • I agree - it's hard to imagine a different "me"!! I've started and stopped so many times over the years, but each time I've learned what does and what doesn't work for me. Your 1 pound gain was very likely water weight anyway!! Just keep going, and it will come off! Like they say - weight loss isn't linear. You'll have…
  • I am also a binge eater - I understand your feelings about it. Even if it's just one day, I end up feeling so fat and crappy. It's a good reminder of why I like to eat "normally". One thing that helps me snap back into feeling better is to look forward. Where will I be in 6 months (with weight loss), if I dust myself off…
  • I stopped eating at Subway after a worker cut his finger on the knife, then continued cutting my sandwich with the same knife. Gross.
  • So sorry you're going through this! This is one of my biggest fears about having a daughter now (she's 1). Unfortunately, you can't control what they are experiencing outside of the home, and friends are such big influences! I'm sure you'll get some good responses from those with daughters that are older, but I just wanted…
  • My reward for my ultimate goal is a diamond eternity band ring. I don't know why, I've just always wanted one!
  • I have taken my pics and uploaded them with my Android phone - no problem! I just have to log in to the website from the browser on my phone.
  • I struggle with binge eating too. What has helped me this time is to stagger my calories so that I can have a couple of high calorie days in a week. I also log EVERYTHING, even on days when I go over my calories. In the past, if I was going to have a binge day, I wouldn't log it - this would lead to me feeling like I'd…
  • No cheat days here...I don't feel the need to have them since I eat the same things I did before, just in smaller portions.
  • I am pear-shaped. In college, I was at a pretty low weight, but still had a good sized booty. I had to get an injection, and the nurse "politely" asked if she could inject my butt instead of my arm since there was a lot more cushion down below!
  • Also a pear!! I remember being at my lowest weight (114 @ 5'5") and still having a big booty! Oh well, at least I had a nice booty and not a flat one! Love the pics ladies! Hope to add mine soon!
