I got that a couple of months after starting. I was eating too little though and breastfeeding at the same time so wasn't really surprised. Upped my calories (changed goal from losing 2lb a week to 1lb a week) and felt a lot better.

Diet coke. I switched from regular coke to diet coke years ago and the first few weeks thought it tasted pretty awful. But now I think it tastes a lot better and regular coke tastes way too sweet and syruppy.

About 3 or 4lb, and it usually lasts about 3 days. The last time was on Wednesday - in the morning I weighed myself and was half a pound away from getting into the 'ideal' category according to BMI, then my kid made us a three course meal as part of his home economics homework......

I eat the same meals as the rest of the family, though if it's something with chips I'll have salad instead (e.g. fish and chips). I use the recipe builder to work out calories - it's fantastic. I couldn't be bothered (or afford) to make two separate meals every night.

I log the day in advance, and sometimes the next day too if I feel like it. It's easy for me as I have the same thing for breakfast every day (cereal and milk), one of three or four things for lunch which are all roughly the same number of calories and I buy all the dinners for the week on the weekend as I'm cooking for…

Congratulations :) What did you do when it didn't fit - did you just not wear a ring or did you get a different one? I've got a similar problem, my wedding ring is falling off now so not sure what to do. It wasn't an expensive one and I'm fairly cynical about my ability to keep the weight off so don't want to alter it. but…

Home made sage and onion stuffing. Last time I made it I ended up eating bits that the baby had thrown on the floor. It's so god damn tasty.

Breastfeeding can be added as a negative food - just search for breastfeeding in the food section. I'm breastfeeding my 17 month old, it's only in the evening and when she wakes up during the night so I only add 200 calories for it. To be honest I would happily stop but the lack of a decent nights sleep for the last year…

I have a friend who doesn't believe in calories - as in she doesn't believe they exist. She is the largest person I know.

I can resist everything except temptation

The website has this great bit for recipes - you add in the ingredients and then it tells you how many calories are in it - it's probably my favourite part of the website. I think you kind of get used to eating less though on days that I go over my calories by a significant amount the next day I'm starving all day again :/

Thanks a lot, everyone has posted really useful info :) I think what I'll do is keep doing the workout I linked in the OP three times a week, but I'll do 2 sets of 12 with the lighter weights then one set of 5 with the heavier ones until I can handle doing 12 and build up from there. I'm not too stressed about overdoing it…

Thank you for that, I can't say how useful that is :) I carry 20lb of toddler around for at least 2 hours a day (if you add up all the time she is in my arms) and my arms haven't withered away yet. But it seems as though the lifting exercises maybe use different muscles that I don't use as much in normal day to day life of…

Thanks everyone :) My aim is just to preserve muscle at the moment while I hopefully lose fat. I'm doing the routine three times a week - it doesn't take that long (less than an episode of It's Always Sunny) but then that's with the 5lb weights so maybe with the larger ones it might take longer. I just bought a set of…

Congratulations :) Take it easy though and don't set yourself any massive targets you'd feel disappointed at not meeting. The first few months are so changeable with regards to sleeping and hormones you can feel up in the air one minute and wanting to stab someone with a spoon the next.

I always plan at least the day, but mainly because I have the same thing for breakfast, either one of a few things for lunch which are all about the same calories so once I decide what I'm having for dinner I'll know how many calories I have left for snacks and whether I can have one or two.

I graduated from a large belt to a medium :)

My favourite function, I use it all the time :)

lamb and bean casserole 100g diced lamb 1 onion 1 clove garlic 1 tin chopped tomatoes 1 tin cannelini beans 1 tin red kidney beans 1 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp worcester sauce 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard 1 tbsp tomato puree 300ml vegetable stock brown the lamb, stick it in the pot. soften the onions in the leftover lamb oil…

No. the only time I sleep with a bra is the first few months of breastfeeding when things can get a bit leaky

I follow it to within 100 calories. I am set to eat 1280 calories a day, but I am breastfeeding a toddler so I add that as a food entry and it enters -200 so I actually eat between 1400 and 1500 a day. I don't know if I've been doing it long enough to say it definitely works but the weeks that I don't lose at least a pound…

Because food is so delicious and a lot of us have no concept of how many calories are actually in things. For example I'm making a Banoffie Pie for pudding tonight as its my husbands birthday. As this is the first time making it since starting to look at weight management I put the recipe in and oops! it's 790 calories a…

Exactly. However hurt your wife will be at the separation it will be a lot worse for her to find out that you were out shagging other women when she thought that you and her were fine. You are humiliating your wife so you can reassure yourself you can still get laid without her. Pretty scummy behaviour. I guess though…

Good luck with losing the weight and think long and hard about whether you want to continue your marriage. I can understand the temptation to stalk his internet and cellphone useage (and would probably do the same) but it won't help - what if he has another phone or enables private browsing? All you'll do is send yourself…

My fat isn't symmetrical but I put it down to carrying kids on my right hip for the last 3 years.

I ate a stack of profiteroles last night, 1200 calories (which took me to 1000 above my daily allowance) and they were all delicious. I have no regrets.

There's no way to know to the level of accuracy that you require unless someone could independently weigh the bag of sugar you weighed at the same time of day.

Facebook as fine as long as you stick to "your baby/pet/car is lovely!", "hooray I passed my driving test/exams/got married!", "the weather is terrible/fantastic!". I really like it as a way to stay in touch with people I don't actually want to talk to that often but like knowing what's going on in their lives but it's…

was it salty popcorn?

Agreed. Have a nice night! And remember if you're dancing that'll burn a load of calories too
