  • I don't. That's the issue, I guess, I'm having too much sugar and I have gone over my carbohydrates maybe....2-3 times in a two week period. I've recently changed my diet to vegetarian, and am having such a hard time finding ways to eat, that'll give me the protein I need. Any suggestions?
  • YAY!!!! It IS a huge deal! Congratulations! :drinker:
  • Hello! I've only been here for a little over two weeks, but I'm getting the hang of this thang pretty quick! Feel free to add me. NO DRAMA! NO RUDE PEOPLE! I like to joke, laugh, and just be silly. If you're too uptight to have a little fun sometimes, then you probably don't want to add me.
  • I wouldn't say you're a freak. I HAVE to wash bowls, glasses, and ALL things that go in me and my family's mouth, before using them. I even wash the disposable baking pans, and yes, I rinse, wipe, or wash the tops of canned sodas. Especially if I don't have a straw for it. I just imagine someone sneezing on those items,…
  • I thought I was the only one who thought this was cute. Honestly, cutting the blueberries in half, would ONLY save him 40 calories. I think you should keep everything, but cut that coconut oil in half, and take your raisins down to 1/8 cup (2 tablespoons). I know that's not many raisins, but at least you'll still…
  • Are you SURE that's why your calories are that low? You seem to be developing an eating disorder. To be honest, you should worry MORE about meeting your calorie goal, than going over carbs, sugar, protein, fats, etc. It DOES indeed matter! Calories are the biggest factor in weight loss, weight gain, and maintenance. You…
  • THIS is how it goes for me as well. If I get too use to cheating, I feel that it'll lower my appreciation for the healthy foods I'm teaching myself to . I also had issues with binge eating, and Lord knows, I do NOT need to go back down that deadly road. I find that eating healthier, allows me to eat more, which…
  • Just wanted to thank everyone for their detailed explanations for why women with PCOS are urged to limit their dairy intake. I've done quite a bit of research, and I'm trying to control my PCOS without the use of metformin. My main reason was because of the hormones in regular milk. Then I thought about using organic milk,…
  • It is VERY realistic! If you're eating to lose 2lbs per week, and this is assuming you are adding regular exercise. HOWEVER, your body will do as it pleases, so if you lose a bit less than your goal, please do not be discouraged! You can and WILL get there. Setting a time limit will encourage you to work hard, and that's a…
  • Well.... I have PCOS. (insulin resistance and hormone issues) I was diagnosed at 16. Was always the bigger kid. I loved sweets and honestly, I was kind of taught to eat away my emotions. So between having PCOS, having a child, starving myself (only drinking diet drinks and eating grapes), throwing up, developing a binge…
  • I was just about to post this EXACT thing. Yes, it's true. Divide your body weight in half, and that's how many ounces you should drink daily, to ensure you are hydrated. However, I wouldn't go over that amount, as it IS possible to drink too much. I think it has to be an extreme amount though. Don't want to scare anyone,…
  • I've given up chips, cakes, cookies, regular ice cream, and regular soda. Never drank a lot of soda, but now if I want one, I make sure it's diet. I have ice cream, but it's sugar free. I have also given up regular butter and white granulated sugar. If I can't eat it without adding sugar, I don't eat it at all. Sugar is a…
  • DON'T stop eating fruit! Maybe you can cut back IF your sugar intake is bothering you. However, if it isn't effecting you negatively, keep doing what you're doing. I notice I go over my sugar as well, but I went from eating cheesecake like a pig, to getting my sugar from healthy cereals and fruits. I even have sugar free…

  • Yes, that scale can be EVIL! I'm learning that now that I'm actually monitoring my weight loss weekly. I may cut that out. Good for you for sticking to your health conscious lifestyle! Congratulations! :flowerforyou:
  • You're right, I'm tripping. I was in "fairy tale mode", but it's time to come back down to earth. Also, I think I will aim more for the 1500 calorie range, instead of trying to lose weight rapidly.
  • Ok guys....I'm putting the evil scale away. I may weigh in monthly. And I'll pull that tape measure out. Gotta keep it pushin'. :flowerforyou:
  • Thank you for your response! Honesty is definitely what I need at this point. I guess my idea of healthy weight loss isn't very realistic. I'm kind of new to this. The only way I really knew how to lose weight in the past, was by starving myself.
  • Thank you for that. You're awesome! No, this HAS to be done. I don't have a choice. My health is on the line. Losing weight is long overdue for me. I just had to throw a little fit, and I'll give it WAY more time before I blame it on my PCOS.
  • Thank you, guys! Yes, I ate CANNED soup. -_- I'm sure that didn't help at all with me getting bloated. I'm very new to this HEALTHY weight loss thing. I did lose 45 lbs by only drinking soda. I had developed somewhat of an eating disorder after giving birth. However, I know that QUICK FIXES do not work. And as stated…
  • BooAndKitty I haven't gone over any calories, I just ate too much for breakfast, and it's REALLY early here. 7:00AM. Smh I can still make sure that I don't over my calories for today. All the other days have been perfect, except for me going over sugar some days, sodium, and fats. I don't go over daily, though. I ALWAYS…
  • Thank you so much for that. I have PCOS, so I get maybe.....4-5 periods a year. I'm not use to having them. I haven't been regular since I stopped taking birth control YEARS ago. I'm going to focus and push through this thing until next week. If all else fails, at least I'll know it's not my fault, and I'll go see…
  • I'm sorry. I've cut it down to 1200-1500 calories a day, mainly hitting the 1200 range. I am NOT torturing myself by eating nasty azz snacks! Here's what's in my house at the moment 1.) Blueberries (40 cals for like....1/2 a cup!) :drinker: 2.) Low fat string cheese (200 sodium, but under 100 cals) 3.) Chocolate, caramel &…
  • I hate that. UGH! I've always had a tummy, so that'll be the last place I lose. I finally started getting some booty, so that'll definitely be the very first thing to go. It's tragic. Wish I could keep the thighs and hips, but lose the tummy, arms, back fat, and face fat. Then I'd be good. :grumble:
  • Personally, I use it because it isn't dairy. I'm trying to limit my diary intake, since I have PCOS. Diary isn't the best option for women with PCOS. At least not the non-organic kind.
  • I am done with the meat. In fact, as of this week, I'm no longer pescaterian. I'm going to eat as a ovo-lacto vegetarian. I just don't think meat is for me, and yes, I also watched a video that showed how animals are slaughtered. It made me feel bad, and it grossed me out a bit. From that day forward, I told myself that…
  • I'm feeling so down today... I also suffer from PCOS, but I'm down because for one, I keep weighing myself, and found that I've gained a pound. This could be due to the fact that I'm spotting, (I guess my period will be here soon, but sometimes spotting goes away) but I'm afraid that it's from my PCOS. It just seems like…
  • I feel odd saying this, but I was a size 12 when I weighed around 210. I am EXTREMELY close to 5'10, and I carry lots of weight in the chest area. I'd also like to add that I wore a size 12 in JEANS. LOL! Tops are always bigger, and not sure about dresses.
  • I agree. It does get kind of boring after a while. I'd prefer to have a treadmill or bike, so that I can listen to music while I workout. That'll take my mind off of the "burning" sensation.
