Day 5 done, I decided to drop the weights. It started to become torture. :s
-
"Little victory", that's a BIG victory! Yay for you!
-
Oh no, sorry to hear that. You're on the right track now, keep moving forward and good luck to you.
-
Because some of us are shorter than others. I'm not quite 5 feet, and I want to lose body fat, so forget what the scale says and think %. I'm fat at 125, really fat. So, um, yeah, you're post is kind of dumb.

Yes! Great work, keep it up! I used to add some weights to my backpack when I'd go hiking to remind me how much extra work it is to lug that around.
-
Yay for you! I felt nervous when I first got my road bike, because I was so used to riding deserted logging roads on a mountain bike. I got over it, first day out. I find the only people that can be jerks are the ones that drive cars and think bicycles don't belong on the road. Riding a bike is like being a kid again, so…

Day 1, 2 and 3 done. Weighted, not sure how many more I can do with weights though.

Hi all, my name is Pam, live in Vermont and looks like I'm the old timer here, lol, 56 years old. Married with two teenage boys. I first joined MFP in summer 2014 and lost 30-ish pounds and have been yo-yoing the last 10 since. I'm looking to gain muscle and lose fat. I just discovered crossfit, love to bicycle, hike and…

I'm back in the saddle this month. In for 150 miles, hoping some will be outside. March 2nd : 12.26

^This. And I'm barely 5 feet tall. I don't think being short sucks or is a disability in any way. Think of it as "fun size". If you're starving try some really filling foods, like veggies, huge salads. Protein and fats will also keep you full longer. (peanut butter, yum!) And the more you move the more you get to eat. Some…

We eat it everyday, I grow enough to last through the winter. I joke that garlic is a vegetable, not an herb, in our house.

Day 1, done, weighted.

Hi all, I'm Pam. I joined MFP in 2014 after realizing I weighed more than I did during my last pregnancy. And that was 15 years ago. I'm 56 years old and 5 feet tall. I lost 30 pounds and have been yo-yoing the last 10. I would love to lower my body fat, continue to gain muscle. I've just discovered cross-fit, also love to…

Just signed on/weighed in, I'll get the preassessment test done and logged by the end of the day. Thanks for doing this, just what I needed!
-
You guys rock! I was able to add a few miles on a stationary to total 41.12 so far, far from my goal. Damn the ice here in New England. Ride on friends, ride on!
-
I envy you! I love, love my bike. Ride on my friend!
-
Woo -hoo, lucky you! I sometimes add weights to my back pack to get a good burn on. Waiting for the weather to change here. Hike on, and your little one is one lucky kid to have a hiking mama!

^This. I realized, after complaining that society didn't value what I did, as a stay at home mom who raised, grew canned, preserved, etc, that it was me who didn't value what I did. Because for the first time in my life I didn't bring home a "real" pay check. What really is "modern" feminism?
-
Yes, I agree. We are only responsible for ourselves and our choices. But perhaps it's a dysfunctional dance that OP and mom are involved in without realizing. Some families use food to express love. Awareness is the first step to change.
-
Why did your mom buy you cookies? Does she know you're trying to lose weight? Is she using food to show love? Just curious. I agree though, just move on. Maybe be aware in the future if she's buying you food again and again?
-
Same. I'm in for the replies. I know I just need crack down and lose the last few. Hoping the new month will help get me outside more, between raining, then below zero temps, one day to the next, I've haven't been as active. Also thinking of starting "Insanity" on Monday. And my logging has been sloppy too.…

What you're doing wrong is getting on the scale after two days. Put the scale away, don't get on it for, oh try 2 or 3 weeks. Keep logging, weigh your food and move your body, even if it's just to park as far as you can at the store to get in some extra steps. Drink enough water. Remind yourself that you didn't put on the…

Mine were impacted. I slept a lot. Don't plan on doing much. I do know others who breezed through the whole thing. I was not one of them. Ditto on the ice packs, I had bruises and swollen cheeks. Look on the bright side, it will be a perfect time to take it easy on your sore back and you'll probably lose a few pounds from…

I know it's a lot more fun to have muscles and good health than to be over weight. I think I've always enjoyed hard physical work because no one expected me, as a 5 foot woman, to be able to keep up, let alone out do some on the job. Being fit enables me to do what I want, instead of just watching others. And now that I'm…

OP- only foods you should avoid are the ones you don't like. Everything in moderation, including Brussel sprouts, cilantro, dairy and even OREOS!
-
^This. I'm a lot smaller and older than you, and can not survive, let alone build muscle, on 1400 calories a day. Keep at it.
-
Woo-hoo, you look great!

After reading an earlier post where many recommended, I checked out the Victoria's Secret bras this weekend. As a bigger girl I was not interested in the padded, need to make my boobs bigger, look. I didn't bother trying any on because of the formed and padded push up features. Glad I didn't order on line and went to the…

Almost 5' here, a lot older than you though. I find it hard to live on 1200, but I do a lot of cardio and weight lifting and get to eat more! I'm close to what I think would be goal, slow and steady wins the race.

Weigh and log everything. Everyday. You'll lose.
