I thought of this post as I strolled down the cookie aisle yesterday. "Lime", "red velvet" and even a few leftover "gingerbread". Call me a purist, anything other than the old fashioned oreo is just a bastardization of a good thing. Peanut butter, mmmaybe. Mint? Like eating toothpaste. And is it REALLY an oreo if it's a…

Well, I'm able to start some stationary riding, my original goal was 150 miles, after an icy fall my back is slowly on the mend. (Woo-hooo!) First week of Feb=18.40 miles 24th Feb=10.24 Month to date=28.64

I'm in, sounds like fun. Thanks!

You're rockin it, thanks for sharing! I have to ask, was it very painful, the recovery, that is? I'm saving my pennies for the future.

So happy for you! You're an inspiration, thanks for sharing1

Chocolate warmed up with a thin layer of peanut butter. Check it out. ;)

The thing is I usually don't add extra calories for weight lifting days, cardio only, and even then I rarely add much, only if I'm hungry. I'm not saying that's the best thing to do, in hindsight I think not. I was at a weight loss stand still before hurting my back. And I was pushing hard in the cardio area on top of…

Awww, don't feel guilty. If it all fits in for the day, no worries. ;)

Usually no. But after reading these replies I think I shall start. ;)

^This. If you consider it a "diet" and not a lifestyle change you may be setting yourself up for failure. All things in moderation.

Well, I won't make my goal, sidelined with a back injury. I've been down 2 weeks now, grrrrrr. Ride on folks, I'll have to catch up next month.

I'm in the EXACT same position. Dead lifts, my favorite and I really pushed it, my personal best. ( Next time I won't be so macho.) Last week I did nothing, hot baths, and kept my calories the same, couldn't believe I lost 2 pounds!! This week I'm stretching and doing much better, really want to get back to the gym but…

OP this thread has been too funny, thanks all for sharing, really had me laughing. I guess we've all been there. Nice to know.

You're rockin' it!!! Thanks for sharing, just what this old gal needed to see!!!!!

All good advice, lots of water, movement, fiber. I also use fiber gummies on occasion.

You must be starving, 1100 calories seems waaay too low. No need to torture yourself. Are you using a food scale and logging everything correctly? Slow and steady wins the race. Congrats on your loss so far.

^This. The sad thing I've learned is that you can't spot reduce. Keep at it and you will see results though. My "Mum tum" is slowly deflating, I do some sort of core exercise every day, just out of habit. Feels good to know there's muscle under that layer.

I got off high blood pressure meds and track sodium also. I never use salt in cooking and find that most processed food has ALOT of sodium per serving. I always check out the labels and sometimes a food isn't worth it if the count is too high. I started using dried spices instead of my beloved chipotle tabasco and Frank's…

I use cottage cheese as a salad dressing, just throw it on top of a big ol' salad and stir it up.

I had some grey goose vodka that I had soaked some raisins in,( I make hard cider and needed to sterilize the raisins before adding them to the fermenting cider) and there's NO way I was going to throw out perfectly good vodka. So I used a shot of the raisin vodka, added some kumbucha, (I make that too) and seltzer with…

Slow and steady wins the race, you've got this!

Wow, you look great, keep it up! :)

56 here, I can outrun, outride, do more pushups, more planks etc. better and faster than my teenagers. Lift and stay at it. Nothing makes a woman hotter than her confidence and ablility to believe that age is just a number.

Don't beat yourself up, but don't give up either. At least you realize that it's the emotional stuff that's getting in the way. First step to change is to realize what the problem is. Slow and steady wins the race, keep going, you can do this!
-
Yay! I can see a difference, you look great, keep it up and show us those pictures along the way! :)

^ This. Most people seem to want to hear of a miracle new diet or some fad.

I thank everyone for showing their pictures, very inspiring. OP, you're still young and that's on your side. Your skin still has elasticity. Continue to lose slowly and steady, from what I've read that seems to help. I've noticed my "Mum tum" slowly deflating. I suspect it will never completely go away because of my age.…

I had a good laugh with your term,"in all my chubby glory". You look fantastic and happier, keep it up and thanks for sharing!
