  • I, too, had problems with "runner's trots" or "runner's diarrhea" when I started running 4 years ago. It can be exacerbated by eating fatty foods, artificial sweeteners, or drinking coffee before a run and can also happen frequently when the weather is very hot and humid. I had a real disaster one afternoon after eating…
  • you look so beautiful and healthy! (Ronald, not so much) This is great inspiration!
  • Milliebear, I'm guessing you're in the UK from your use of the word "tin". As far as I know, you call them coriander leaves in the UK, whereas in the US we call the leaves cilantro and the dried herbs coriander. Hope this helps! I've definitely got to try some of these wonderful tuna recipes people have posted :)
  • I also love wine (my family has French heritage, what a great excuse, right?). Until the past couple of weeks, I kept trying to include wine as long as I stayed under my daily calories, but that did not work for me. I exercise a lot and I think I was cancelling out my efforts. If you can stick to no more than a glass of…

  • I log in everything. I've been slowly gaining weight the past few years and, although I've been an exerciser and (mostly) healthy eater the whole time, I gained by not being precise about calories. Now, on this website, I'm finally seeing results! I'd say the most important reason to log everything in is to be able to…
  • I heartily agree with kaitlinj that a good workout is one that you will do consistently. That is excellent advice!
  • i also need to cheat sometimes with the alcohol. in fact, i'm cheating right now. enjoying my favorite libation, a kir royale, while watching the olympics. but it's a very individual thing. my mom was very successful losing a ton of weight a couple of years ago, and she has to stay strong and not cheat because it makes her…
  • Rereading my previous post, it came across more aggressive and less encouraging than I had intended. Someone very close to me has long been struggling with an eating disorder, so starvation techniques really provoke a strong reaction from me. That said, it's excellent that you're beginning to make an effort to incorporate…
  • As someone else mentioned, 22% body fat is within the normal range for a woman. I think you'd be much better off working on overall fitness and endurance, doing a lot of exercise and eating (gasp!) a lot more than 1000 calories of nutritious foods. I know this sounds harsh but, if you've already damaged your lungs by…
  • Hi! I just joined as well. Today I'm finishing up my second day. This afternoon I was down 3 lbs. from the other day, but I hesitate to mark it as weight loss because I tend to fluctuate a lot within 5 lbs or so. I can relate to being very active loving exercise, but still not meeting weight loss goals!! I started running…
  • Hi Eddie, It does sound like you have a very busy lifestyle, so I think it's all the more admirable that you're taking these first steps to be healthier! I just started using this website, but what I've found that works well for losing weight is to eat sensible foods/snacks frequently throughout the day. It takes a lot of…
