    Thank god my mother got more canned tuna...

    We usually do

    1-2 cans
    Mayo
    Sweet Relish
    2 hard boiled eggs (chopped)
    Salt, Pepper, Lemon Pepper

    Mix, and enjoy with white bread or crackers

    I use tuna (packed in water, drained) with a mashed avocado and tiny pieces of cucumber. Also, I'll saute a can with veggies; zucchini, mushrooms, peppers, and hot sauce! Sometimes I'll add that saute mess to macaroni and cheese. Yum!

    have you ever had tuna nicose? it's a slice of heaven and low cal. Recipes are available online easily, but it basically is tuna, lettuce, olives, green beans, boiled egg quatered and vinagrette dressing and tomatos.

    Milliebear, I'm guessing you're in the UK from your use of the word "tin".
    As far as I know, you call them coriander leaves in the UK, whereas in the US
    we call the leaves cilantro and the dried herbs coriander.
    Hope this helps! I've definitely got to try some of these wonderful tuna recipes

    This is how I do my "healthy Version" of tuna salad:

    Can of tuna, drained
    2 tbsp of fat free sour cream
    1 tbsp of salsa
    a pickle chopped

    mix them all together :) It's kind of like a southwest tuna salad I suppose. and always comes out to 200 calories tops for the whole thing

    I make it for my husband for his lunches. I just use tuna in water, 1 T mayo, and some diced onion. I'm going to try that curry powder idea though. I bet it's good i love curry.

    I love tuna!!

    I usually get the Sealord garlic and olive oil brand and then......

    Half a diced avocado
    a sliced spring onion (or scallion or whatever they're called)
    One chopped fresh tomato
    1/3 cup diced, peeled cucumber
    salt
    pepper
    a good splash of Louisiana hot sauce.

    YUM! :)

    Also what is miracle whip? Never heard of it... can you get it in NZ even?

    I like the curry powder idea, although as stated before I don't think we get a 'sweet' one here - just the generic curry powder. That said, I'm tempted to try Chinese 5-spice.... hmmmm *brain whizzes around*

    good sized diced pickles (not teeny dice, my husband likes big farm fresh looking pieces)
    good sized sliced celery
    garden fresh jalapeno
    chopped cilantro

    This is really good wrapped in a large romaine lettuce leaf.

    If you don't care for mayo based tuna salad, my grandmother would make something we called "Italian tuna".

    Tuna
    Red Wine Vinegar
    Chopped Celery
    Red Onion
    Salt
    Pepper

    I love it because it's cheap, clean and a nice change from mayo based tuna salad. But every once in awhile - gotta have the mayo based kind. Mmmm.......

    Hubby adds yellow mustard and celery seed to his standard Miracle Whip tuna salad - he SWEARS by it. :)

    I used to love making tuna and white bean salad, too, but haven't made it in a while...it's delicious on top of a garden type salad!

    Ingredients

    * 1 (6 ounce) can tuna in water, drained and flaked
    * 2 tablespoons tabbouleh salad
    * 1 teaspoon oregano
    * 1 teaspoon rosemary
    * 1/2 tablespoon feta cheese
    * 1/2 cup of baby spinach
    * 2 tablespoons hummus
    * 1 wheat pita pocket

    Directions

    1. Mix tuna, hummus, salad, oregano, rosemary, feta.

    2. Fill pocket with mixture. Add spinach as desired.

    I use tabbouleh salad in my tuna as well. I only add in some black pepper to it. I will have to try your recipe. Yay for tabbouleh tuna!

    I used to ALWAYS make my tuna w/ mayo, but I have since discovered the joys of Greek yogurt as a substitute.

    My recipe:

    1 can tuna
    A few tbsp greek yogurt
    Mustard
    Cut up celery
    Cut up bell peppers
    Dill
    Sliced Dill pickles
    S&P

    I usually pack it in my lunch and eat it on a rice cake or straight out of the container. ;)

    tsp olive oil
    red wine vinegar (to taste)
    salt and pepper

    I use the following recipe to make my tuna salad a lot healthier but it still tastes the same as when you use a ton of mayo. It clocks in at around 100 calories a serving and the only difference is that it separates a bit when being stored. Easy enough to fix, you just stir it back up and it still tastes delicious!
