running in the fall is just awesome... Boy i wish i was home from work running right now <daydreaming and jumping up> oh wait you asked a question... Tough Mudder then hardcore training for a half marathon in March. I hope to get in a destination run to either Vegas, California, or an Island in December though :-)

i get motion sickness from them :-( They are only thing i modify in Insanity because otherwise i get really sick... like as if i was just on a roller coaster.. i know i'm probably an oddball on that one.

Unfortunately I don't have any helpful advice but I'm also feeling extra hungry today and just don't know why!

how much to tip? the job is probably like $15 maybe elsewhere? I was thinking like $5-$10 They don't have a tip jar. I'm glad you guys are saying to tip because I'm leaning more towards it. If he was charging me like $50 or anything I probably wouldn't think to but it's such a wonderful shop.

biking the first time in awhile will make you feel like a grandmama!! i ran a half marathon then a week or so later rode my bike for 3 miles to get a tuneup and WOW i felt and looked so out of shape!! I ran the 3 miles back home but WHEWWWW!! After a few times the muscles will build quickly and the bike is a lot easier :-)

is there a lot of humidity or higher temps in your area? i was down to about 8-9 min miles in the winter and now i'm about 10-11 purely based on humidity... at least that was my determination because on cooler less humid days i'm back to my average (plus researching it found that out). I was getting SO discouraged at my…

Congrats on the great mind set. I'm coming up to the one year anniversary of hitting my goal, i hope to never go back to that other person and it was more of a mind set change to welcome a new lifestyle and keep it. I sent your post to a friend who is starting her journey today, hope it inspires her and many others. Good…

I LOVE COLD WEATHER RUNNING!!! i prefer like 20-30 degrees but as long as there isn't too much of a windchill below that is ok too. Have to get cold weather "gear", I thought oh go to target and get cheap stuff... NO don't do it!! Spend the extra and it's worth it! I'll never go back to my cheaper ones now, go to a good…

Ive never been one to follow a "plan", in fact when I did the insanity program I refused to follow the order. The c25k is a great program but its not an all or nothing plan. you can skip a day and run 2 in a row. Running is a great workout and one that although your body does need to recover, it's something you can do…

i must have a medical disorder i worked out for 30 minutes I'm going to McDonalds.. why am i gaining weight i go to the gym all the time calories in vs out doesn't matter as long as i go to the gym i'm obviously going to lose weight a sammich without fries won't fill me up (meanwhile eating all the fries and not the…

i love insanity!! it's a really hard workout and i started it when i was overweight and there were some parts i just couldn't do and modified them until i was able to do it and occassionally would hit pause to catch my breath. it's not for anyone that gives up quickly. it's an extreme workout and I pretty much threw up…

I'm a size 2 and i find that i have to shop in the junior department exclusively. Kohls, macy's, really any store but in juniors section. NY&Co is good but sometimes the size 0 doesn't even fit or the 2s are too "hippy"
-
it was consistently about 8 pounds = a size for me... went from size 14ish to 2 after 44 pounds. (that's saying 14 to 12 to 10 to 8 to 6 to 4 to 2)

haha it seemed to not like the word d i ck it's from that sporting goods store replace the 4 **** with d ic k lol hehe it censored me, i feel like a rebel lmao or if you got to d1ck's sporting goods (spelled right not with a 1) it's product: Nike Women's Cold Weather Running Hoodie Item Number: 13148678
-
when you are talking about running it's never boring!!! :-P (yea that's so sad for me to say haha) Well i swear by a nike running hoodie http://www.****ssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=13148678 It has thumb holes so you can keep hands warm without gloves, a hood but it doesn't flap around, it's form fitting,…

I'm sure you will get a variety of answers but i hit my goal weight purely by counting calories. i'm a carbo-holic and was pretty much over everyday in carbs however successfully lost a pound a week (which was my goal) and have been on maintenance for a year. Hope that helps and good luck!

"What would you do today if you knew you wouldn't fail? Now go do it"

"i really regret that workout", said NO ONE EVER "one egg falls on the ground, do you throw the other 11 down too?" "a one hour workout is 4% of your day, no excuses" "your workout is my insanity warm up" "the road can be brutal. it often kicks your butt. sometimes it scares you and beats you up. But there comes a day when…

If you are willing to drive 90 miles alone to meet someone at beach because you need to get a run in that day if you think of random things while running and think "oh i have to add that on MFP runner post" if you are contemplating a jogging stroller for the dogs because they get sad you spend so much time away running if…

Go TMs!!! Mine is Oct in Jersey! yes electric eel... us too... (sorry to be off topic but i posted on like page 3 that was relevant to the topic so i'm allowed to add this one too)

every week I lost about 1 pound, 4 pounds the first week (probably water)... so within a month I lost about 6, I noticed it for myself (clothes fitting better, feeling healthy, energized, and motivated!) but no one else really noticed until I hit about 25 pound loss (or at least willing to say something lol). Every 8…

I look pretty much like the pic the guy posted and actually might be slimmer than her, i am in the middle of my BMI at 112 pounds and 5 foot tall, she is not borderline underweight.

everyday at 10am i have a 60 calorie "stringers" lite cheese stick and then i'm good til noon. :-) Snacks are KEY!

Ps Runkeeper.com is a great app for phone... i will forever save the email they sent congratulating me when i hit 1,000 miles :-) it shows distance, time, calories, a map, and tracks all different workouts. i've tried a lot of different apps and thats my fave
-
Well to start, i have many running friends and i have to say the concensus is that the first mile is the worst and hardly enjoyable! lol I absolutely love running but never can i say whoohoo to that first mile... just all the rest! Speed will come over time, however doing intervals at a track can help, easiest i've found…

yep... http://www.doctoroz.com/episode/gastric-surgery-you-should-be-getting he was mad when a woman stood up and said "i got this, lost 100 pounds but gained it back" he then told her he felt bad it didn't work for her and quickly moved on
-
sadly is this the one that had the "gastric bypass is the answer"??... i almost broke my tv as the title... "the best surgery that not recommended enough" came across the screen. Then he convinced them that surgery was the way to go. I am not a fan of Dr. Oz. Not at all.

you know a house in at least 2 directions that's exactly one mile away from your house... and you can quote random distances while driving by "oh yea the corner coming up is 5 miles from our house"
-
If you look at your running app online and just by the mileage you can tell the route you took...

The first time i heard that question at a running store i didn't make eye contact with anyone as it felt so foreign and felt like a scared little girl just getting running shoes to "walk"... Now i proudly can answer... "ah a few... a tough mudder in October, a 5k benefit for my aunt in Nov (was actually going for a record…
