oh no, no, no ma'am!! hahaha I had pizza last night and a bagel with cheese and egg whites today for breakfast. As long as calories in equals calories out and you monitor your nutritional intake you can have whatever you want and maintain!! (or have deficit and lose if that's the goal). I eat papa johns, chick fil a, etc…

Definitely do it! One of my friends goes all the time to a sportsbar by herself (she's married and just likes to have time alone) and I thought i'd feel weird doing it until one day she was super late meeting me there. I am a huge football fan so I just watched the game and ordered food and it was completely comfortable! I…

It's hard to go by average size with all the variables that go into it like height, body shape, frame size and they are probably adding the obese with the skinny since it's an average so it could be skewed either up or down. A few other measures would be the waist to hip ratio…

Carrots are a great filler (35 cals a bag and occupies ya for awhile), low cal string cheese (60 calories), strawberries (low in cals can't remember what it is), 90 calorie fiber one bars (or various other bars or snack bags), a tiny handful of cashews/pistachios/peanuts, 100 cal yogurt, chewing gum, spoonful of peanut…

thanks for sharing this article. I have been on maintenance for a few months and can relate... i feel as long as you still record it all you can fight the urges. I definitely believe there is some imbalance after on maintenance of that Leptin horomone but also believe there is no excuse to gaining it back... LOTs of…

This is another perfect reason... it takes a bit to get into the grove of things while you are learning what needs to be done :-)

Join NOW! if you can make it through Christmas the rest of the journey will be a piece of cake! Never wait, procrastination might turn January into March. And if you plan on joining a gym you can get into a routine before the January rush at the gym :-)

At the beginning I set small goals, first I couldnt run even a quarter mile without walking so I did a mile of walking/jogging. Now I am almost at 7 miles straight (and will be this weekend). I set high goals of doing Insanity at the beginning but when I started it I had small goals of pausing to rest for 1-2 minutes at a…

Unfortunately you do need to think of it as a lifestyle change, it's the only way you will really succeed. but change it right now, yes it's hard but just cuz one egg falls on the floor and breaks do you throw the other 11 on the floor? So if you've had a bad day now, get up, put a smile on that face even if it's a fake…

unfortunately I can't help with suggesting a good brand as I've just bought Pilsbury from a can and whatever the supermarket has. However my suggestion is to get ones that you don't enjoy and then it will save you calories :-)

Although you are under your caloric intake, you might want to make sure that you are 500 under a day (no less than 1200 cals a day though). You need to be under a total of 3500 calories to lose a pound, that's 500 calories a day for 7 days and you will lose a pound a week. That's how I was successful and lost 44 pounds in…

so awesome!! i was the same way... just being healthy made me happy... initial goal of 125 because that was normal BMI and just in the healthy range, now i'm 112 and am extremely healthy (only 5 foot so 112 is appropriate... right in the middle). Good job!! Keep going and always remember what it was to be unhealthy so you…

I can totally relate in the sense of insanity and yoga. I do insanity, as well as jog, and wanted something that would help me out with both of those so it was recommended from fellow fitness friends that I take up yoga. I signed up via living social (discount website) for yoga and pilates classes (5 for $25) just to try…

Ultimately I wanted 115, i had surgery (deviated septum) the same week that I had hit maintenance and went to 112 because I ate as if I was inactive when due to the recovery i was burning extra calories. I ended up liking 112 so decided to stay there and have maintained for about 2 and a half months now. The actual goal…

YES!!!! sadly I don't like to cook and have successfully lost 44 pounds and i'm not bloated or anything. HOWEVER when the "budget" doesn't allow fries then you have to steal like 3 of a friends' fries. It's a balancing act. I eat every 2 hours too and at the end I was down to under 1200 calories to lose weight which, I ate…

Sure :-) I wish there was a lot of money in it though! haha I work in the investment field and if the income was equivalent it would be a no brainer... well it would be a hard choice cuz both are passions of mine so maybe it's better that it is decided FOR me haha Good luck with it!!!

I'm contemplating this as well. I have done it in the past during college but never was certified (spent hours and hours doing research so was informed). It's great to do if you enjoy it and it's nice helping people as well. I'm not sure which certification to get, that I'm still researching because there are so many out…

hehe thanks, it's good to hear that there are others like me out there, especially if one of my little guys gets loose I'd be devastated if I couldnt find them! My friend's dog ran away last year and someone "adopted" him instead of looking for the owner and after 3 days of just searching and crying, she was lucky enough…

where's the "like" button??? haha I totally agree with you :-) I never complained about being unhappy with my weight before because I felt how can I have the audacity to complain if only I can change it. So when I started my program in January I looked at my habits and changed them, it sounds simple but we all know it's…

Thanks everyone for the input, much appreciated! I will definitely be able to choose one of these options!!

It all depends on what your body burns in a day. You need to burn 3500 calories more than consumed to lose a pound. My body burns 1400ish in a day on average just going to work and being "me" with no exercise. If I were to eat 1200 cals a day I wouldnt lose as much as if I ate 1700 calories but with exercise burned 2300…

omg so funny cuz when i lost 5 pounds my bf handed me my chihuahua and said "you lost her" lol sw 155.1 cw 112 wl elephant heart :-)

Good job on your loss to start :-) The reason you may have problems losing at 1200 calories is because when your body is not receiving enough calories (1200 minimum about) it wil start to slow down your metabolism because your body starts going into a natural anti-starvation mode. Once you get your metabolism back up by…

eat HALF a piece, you'll cut down on the calories but still get enough to satisfy a sweet tooth :-)

I think the best way would be to add "snacks" like maybe an apple or granola bar in short intervals throughout the day. Eventually you can spread out the snacks so that you are hungrier and want "lunch", "breakfast", etc. this way you train your body to eat more often. try to keep it healthy though like fruit, veggies,…

My ideal is a 2-4 and I finally reached it yay! I'm only 5 foot so that's a healthy size, yea a 0 wwould be great and only like 10 pounds away but that's not maintainable. SW 155.1 size 13+ CW 112.6 size 2/4

You can do weights everyday if you concentrate on different body parts like legs one day, bicepts and tricepts another day and back and chest as a 3rd day. The one poster was correct about abs can be done daily too. Your muscles need to heal and repair themselves. You could also do upper and lower body every other day but…

Sometimes a local university will allow you to buy a membership just for the pool (and some high schools). I know there are restrictions on hours you can use it but that also restricts how much they will charge because they are happy to get what they can during non-practive hours. I know University of Delaware and some…
