Yeah, the very simple answer is that you can't.

I stay within my 1400 calories per day during the week and workout (which creates another 300-700 calories per day), then I enjoy my weekend. Instead of trying to hit 1400, I just make sure that I don't go over 2400 and negate any of my week's work.

This is more semantics then anything. Muscle is more DENSE then fat, so if you had the same volume of each, the muscle would weigh more. It is true that if you burn the same VOLUME of fat as you gain in muscle, the scale will read more.

I found coming on here and logging to be really tedious and annoying when I first started and started and stopped twice before this recent streak of over 40 days logging. For me, it was committing myself to doing it for one month. The first few days, it was just about sticking to that commitment. After a couple of weeks,…

I'd love to do that all week. The weight training days of P90X are usually pretty boring to me. It's much harder for me to get into the workout and give it my all which means I'm not getting near as much out of my time as on the non-weight days. Plyo and Yoga X (and to a lesser extent Kenpo) are exciting and I look forward…

I rarely eat regular bread because it tends to be calorie dense and carb heavy unless you go for specific brands. I stick to whole wheat tortilla wraps or pita bread and even then, it's only once or twice a week.

I've started looking at the Insanity DVDs. Am I wrong that they appear to be much more cardio intensive? That is, less weight and resistance training and more maxed out heart rate circuits? I do the Plyo on P90X and it's my favorite routine of the week because it's less weights and more crazy *kitten* cardio.

I'm starting phase 2 of P90X right now. I have Insanity but I don't know if I'd be ready for it. Maybe I'll give it a go for a week and if it's too much, I'll go back to P90X and start phase 2 next week.

plus, Skyrim will be out in November and it'll take me forever to finish that :D

Yeah, I played SW:G, City of Heroes, WoW, and most recently, RIFT. I'll probably try it out, but if it's going to require me to do 3 hour raids until 1am, I don't know if I can handle that anymore :)

I'm scared to start another MMO. Star Wars Galaxies was my first and I've sunk SO MANY hours into them.

Thx! Got it :)

Yeah it's going to be a weird year. The hope is that guys like Giroux, Briere, and Van Reimsdyk step up their scoring production from last year. Jagr should still be able to post 20 goals or so (had one last night).. It might be a rough start until they can get some chemistry.

Flyers! I went to their first preseason game against the Maple leafs on Wednesday. Can't wait for the start of the season

It's not about a number on a scale. Weight is fat, bone, tissue, muscle, and water. Just because your not losing weight doesn't mean that your not losing fat. It might not be at your waistline, but if you're keeping a deficit, you ARE losing fat. It may just be balancing out with muscle as muscle weighs more. Eventually as…

"Happiness is a direction, not a place" Start putting one foot in front of the other and move in the right direction. Log your food, stay within your calories, and get a good workout in. Commit to yourself to doing this consistently and honestly for 30 days and you'll come out the other side with great new habits. Good…

As far as eating right, it's all about planning. I work A LOT during the week and come home pretty tired. I never want to cook a healthy meal during the weekdays. Instead, I plan all of my meals for the week on Sundays and do as much cooking as I can. Today I made a beef stew, cooked a turkey roast to use for dinners and…

I second the almond milk. It only adds about 30 calories to my coffee in the morning vs 100 or more using cream or milk.

My tip is to commit yourself to log your calories EVERY DAY for all meals for 30 days. It will seem tedious at first. I started and stopped this part a few times. When I forced myself to log this last time, it became a habit and now I couldn't NOT do it. Nutrition is really the most critical part of weight loss and you…

MFP tends to estimate high because it doesn't take into account heart rate and overall fitness. I think it makes its best estimate based off of time, age, weight, and gender.

This is my favorite song for intense work out: David Guetta ft. Snoop Dogg - Sweat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW_MkfaLuPM

I do P90X and the way it breaks down for the first phase is: Monday Chest & back Tuesday Plyometrics - seriously intense cardio legs Wednesday - Shoulders, biceps, triceps Thursday - Yoga (great for recovery from Tuesday, still burns a bunch of calories) Friday - Legs and back Saturday - cardio If you want a list of the…

Get your cardio in while doing weights. If you set up muscle groups into circuits and don't take breaks, you can keep your heart rate high through the whole workout. I'll do chest back chest back chest back and then take a break. Another day I'll do shoulders, biceps, triceps repeat then break. Third day I do three…

Don't be overly concerned with not being able to do all of the moves. I'm still pretty terrible at pull ups and push ups after week 3, but you do see slow progress. I couldn't do one pull up during week 1. I can probably do 4 right now. I'd stick with classic because the strength training is important.

http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/09/pumpkin-spiced-oatmeal-pecan-cookies.html I just made these pumpkin oatmeal cookies. about 80 calories per cookie (mine are probably a little less because I used a butter substitute) and they taste pretty damn good

If you want an accurate calorie burn, you really need a heart rate monitor. I've found that MFP over estimates the burn from cardio work. Get a HRM and use your average heart rate. There are tons of good calculators out there that will give you a much more accurate estimate.

If you work now on gaining muscle mass, it'll balance out. You won't be "skinny" but you'll maintain or gain some weight from the muscle while losing the extra fat. Also, as a personal note, I wouldn't listen to what people say about you being too skinny in the face. They may just be not used to seeing you without the…

I wouldn't take the BMI numbers too seriously. They showed how flawed it is. Shaquille O'Neill was very obese according to this scale and he was pure muscle and very fit. It doesn't take into account things like muscle mass.

It's about average. For a sedentary male, your maintenance number is probably in the 2300-2600 range depending on how big you are. Mine is 1330.
