So can I really rely on the maths (in the end at least) when it comes to calorie counting? This would mean that I would be able to get back control over my weight (finally) over the long term!
-
Thank you so much! That is helping me a lot because I need to calm down now to be able to get back on track today.

Thank you, malibu! I am also not sure how much "down" my metabolism was from dieting before MFP (I only joined recently). So I thought I would have to start at a lower level and gradually add in order not to gain? On the other hand side I am a binge eater (argh just had 3 days of binges...) and therefore my metabolism got…

Do you all talk about net calories, like eg 1200 net calories to lose weight? Or are you talking about 1200 calories in total? How much did you exercise when you lost and how many calories did you eat back (50% or 100% or none)? And those who maintain how is this for you?

Many thanks for your helpful answers!!

Many thanks for your answers! So I guess I will go for the 5 cal skinny mocha drizzle (anyone else can confirm that value-maybe devoneyvalente, please?) and as I usually ask by myself will ask for 4 pumps (=20 cal) and add the coffee calories (in the future normal coffee instead of espresso-25cal just for the espresso is…

They taste great to my opinion.

HEB grocery market sells them (2 for 5 Dollar), also Sprouts Farmer's market and some of the gyms and sport equipment shops like Authority sports. But attention-they can become addictive :O)....

I meanwhile also read about other methods like calculating the daily TDEE of my goal weight and eating this or a bit less to lose. And then eating the daily TDEE in maintenance as well.
-
And just to add: in general I was thinking about tracking my calories that I reach the weekly average and not the daily.

Many thanks for your answers! I am sorry that my question was not understandable, but I am not a native English speaker so this might explain why... Again my question: 1.) For weight loss, it is good to eat my BMR (given by MFP) plus around half of the calories earned through exercise (calculated from MFP)? I ask this…

Many thanks! Actually found a message board about that that answered my questions-so no need to answer here any more!

Thank you so much for all your replies! Now I am really convinced that a calorie is a calorie and will just eat what I like in terms of weight loss!!

Another idea is to look up recipes on google in other countries (if you know the language sufficiently). For example try out www.google.fr and look up "real" French weight loss recipes...

Many weight watchers recipes are useful because of the many veggies they contain (and therefore filling yet not too many calories). You can find them online eg on pinterest and on blogs or in cookbooks.

Hi Xenetha, I am also very interested in how much a deep water aqua class burns and how much different water classes in general burn! I know that there is an option for water jogging (which burns more than the strength training) in MFP. I also know that it makes quite a difference in calorie burn whether you are doing deep…

Binge eating! For me it is mainly the sweet stuff, including chocolate as well....I am still trying how to lose weight and maintain despite my binges...Cutting out certain foods completely did not help me, what helps more is including them....but sometimes it ends in binges..what sometimes helps is finding satisfying…

So most of you are just watching calories over the week to do the cycling? And how are you doing the carb cycling? Are there certain amounts you allow yourself or do you do it more how it comes? Many thanks again for all the useful answers!

@feisty_bucket: why do you think I should not worry about "starvation mode" or the speed of my metabolism? I heard about that a lot and that it is easy to ruin your metabolism in a way that you can only eat less and less and less...
-
Thank you so much guys for your quick and very motivating answers!! You are helping me a lot and giving me the much needed support to believe in that I can do it and that calorie cycling is worth trying!

I went without added sugar for a longer time t and i liked it. I used sseeteners though. In periods with sugar I often faced cravings and binges. Not sure whether I restricted too much or whether it was the sugar. I like the approach some are applying here to go off sugar for a while to test it and then to reapply it in…
