Well hello and welcome to mfp!

Hi, I'm in Brisbane. I started at 92kg and am currently 78kg. I'm aiming for mid 60s. Dunno if it matters but I'm 168cm 5"6?
-
Depends on what fruit or veges too. For me it's corn, broccoli, beans, zucchini, apples, bananas. I just make sure not to eat them all in the same day.
-
Ummm, is an e-cig or nicotine based gadget easier to give up?
-
There's only one way to find out. Give it a go and good luck. I signed up to do a 5k walk n hubby thought I was crazy..... It was only a walk lol but he was the main one telling everyone that I was doing a 10k run and how proud of me he was. I was too embarrassed to correct him. I'm doing a 5k run in December and I haven't…
-
Alrighty! On my way there now lol. Thanks
-
I hadn't even considered e-cigs, so thanks for the suggestion. I assume vapour/vaper is the same thing?
-
Hi all, I'm doing the colour run here in Brisbane this December. I don't like running, never have, but every so often that 'quiet little voice' tells me to 'just run'. So I have committed to completing w1d1 tomorrow.
-
Well, bit behind and that's ok. I start my w1d1 tomorrow. Will update when I complete it.
-
Awww congrats! Keep it up :) Were you a heavy smoker to begin with? I am so scared of piling the weight back on, because I know food is gonna taste sooo much better.
-
I haven't committed to quitting yet but I accept it will be a natural progression. I will be using willpower, determination and a lot of prayers lol. I also heard vitamin c, but I didn't take it only because I never got around to buying some.
-
Thanks for your reply, I have thought about buying a cheaper one first and have heard good things about the sunbeam models. Keep hunting I spose
-
I'm keen for some more friends... most of mine have gone inactive. Cheers
-
I joined this group to get some ideas for transitioning, but it doesn't seem too active. Good luck with your journey

I have been feeling like this lately. I do my meal prep the day before... I know I don't want what's right in front of me, but I don't know what I want. Or, one day I might eat like I've been starved, and the next day don't want to eat at all. Exercise generally makes me ravenous but then have a bite of sushi and I feel…

Cucumber, mint and lemon is nice too. Or berries with mint. I get bored of water sometimes so its nice to switch it up
-
Good stuff! Sometimes it's hard to get the balance right on being gentle with yourself and pushing yourself to adapt to a very different way of living. Add me as a friend, if you like. It's always good to have a cheering squad
-
Thanks, sounds yummy

Although I have a gym membership, for me it's not a 'be all'. I try to be active in my day to day activities and of course watch what I eat. Having said that, I try to go to the gym 4 days a week mostly to do weights and it's my me time.
-
Sorry for your loss Carolyn. I hope you do take care of yourself in these early days and the long days to come. I don't have any tips, as its taken me a few years to be ok with my grief. One day at a time (hugs)

I have a tablespoon of psyllium husk with my breakfast. Works for me
-
Thanks for the info. I did this, even though it was out of disappointment and lasted alot longer than a couple of weeks, but it worked
-
I got 'gee your *kitten* is small!'. My response was 'damnit, I been doing squats'. Imo, I never had a fat *kitten* to begin with lol
-
My body has done a right flip. I use to be small on top n bigger on the bottom, and now I'm top heavy. I'm still in that 'disproportionate' stage as I've dropped 2 sizes in pants and nothing on top. I know my belly is going to be the last to go. I'm about 7kgs away from my tw, so as it has been already suggested, I too…

Some of it depends on consistency. I wanted to get into the habit of having breakfast after not having breakfast for about 20 yrs. I told myself 'have brekky ONCE this week', the next day I told myself the same thing, and the next day and on and on. It took about 2 weeks of consistency to form the habit. That was a year…

I pay $44 a fortnight. Reasonably well maintained equipment, 'free' breakfast, toiletries provided, 24/7, and 10 minutes drive from home.
-
Definitely this!

I would see what my neighbours have and swap (assuming they have vege gardens and such), mmmm I'm thinking about mulberry pie right now, dehydrate them, freeze them, mix it in a green leaf salad, but pie *sigh*
