Anybody doing the fok 21 day challenge? It's free to sign up on their website. I'm starting over. WFPB for health reasons.

I used to have a cheat meal once a week. Then I would have a cheat meal twice a week. Then I would have a cheat meal 3 times a week. Then I thought I'd better knock it on the head. So I would have one cheat day a week. Then I had cheat days 2 days a week. Then every day was a cheat day. But I wasn't winning. Now I have…

I like to eat porridge on toast. That's the only food quirk I have.

Damn that waiting game! I hope you're writing a list of questions? To be honest, I'm monitoring my health according to my nails. Sounds vain but I think I'm on to something. I used to have beautiful moons and very strong nails. My moons had disappeared from all my nails and almost my thumbs. They've started growing again…

hope it goes well for you

I've had to put my containers away as we have little ones in the house now and finding them was starting to get a bit 'Where's Wally.' lol.

Well each to their own tastes eh.... Maybe find recipes that you like and put your own spin on it. Maybe buy some spice blends you like. I cook alot of coconut based dahls but once again, each to their own.

When the boys were young and playing sports.... I would literally put the dinner pot/roasting dish in the car. We kept a picnic bag in there too with our plates, cups etc. In summer, few ice bricks, cold meat cuts, salads, fruit etc. Oh how I don't miss those days. Well I kinda do. I always packed more than I should have…

Thanks for that. It was a definite eye opener

I didn't really go crazy buying gym clothes. I did get 2 pairs of compression full length tights (skins) to minimise muscle soreness when I first started walking and a runner's t-shirt. Then once I'd formed the habit of moving more every day, I joined the gym. I didn't buy alot of gym clothes then either, except 2 pairs of…

Maybe don't stick to 'a' plan but take parts from plans that you like and find your own eating style. I mostly do meatless (for health reasons) but I don't call it vegetarian or vegan or whole food plant based etc. I'm just trying to eat more veges. If I want steak I will have steak, If I want fish I will have fish. I went…

Walked past the mirror and spun around... My singlet is dangling where my armpit boobs were. I swear they've gone down two cup sizes!

Pantry staples- Sweet potato, onions, garlic, ginger Brown rice, quinoa, rolled oats, red lentils, yellow split peas Wholemeal flour, plain flour, sugar, coffee Tinned lentils, chickpeas, butter beans, coconut milk, tomato - chopped/paste, peaches cuppa soups, nuts and seeds Kombucha A few themed spices - curries, middle…

The only 'lazy' foods I have in the fridge are dried figs and prunes. In the pantry - cuppa soups and trail mix, the nuts are in a container underneath two other containers behind the lentils though, so for me, that doesn't qualify as lazy food haha. It's a nuisance to get to them, but it works well for me.

@Fuzzipeg - I went and got some a2 milk and goats milk today.... I didn't like the a2 - bit reminiscent of a subtle skim/uht milk taste. The goats milk was so soothing and of course did not taste like buttermilk. Fears can be so irrational at times lol. Bit of a shocker at the price but oh well, because I'm worth it...…

@Fuzzipeg - thanks for the detailed reply. The reference to the cows milk is that it makes me bloated and phlegmy and yet I will not do soy, oat, rice, coconut, or almond milk in my coffee. Which is the only time I drink milk. So for me, I would have to give up the coffee to give up the milk. I tried lactose free milk but…

flaxseeds, almonds, dates, spinach, bananas and blueberries. Or add oats. You just keep doing you!

I do think it is very unfortunate that you need to take medication and that they have stopped working. I can only assume the feeling of being 'not quite right' is made worse now because of the meds not working. I hope the drs hurry up and find a suitable alternative for you. I wholeheartedly agree that 'proper' nourishment…

I love lentil dahl. I don't have a set recipe as I sometimes use red lentils or yellow split peas or both, sometimes I'll add quinoa. I also prefer coconut based over tomato. I cook in bulk and freeze. I use Ayam branded coconut milk/cream as I find it doesn't 'split'. Another one I like is palak paneer.

I might be onto a winner.... For three days in a row I have given hubby a meatless meal either for lunch or dinner. Dinner was actually quite nice with roasted sweet potato stuffed with cauli, brown rice, spinach, lentils, onions with an avocado and parsley dressing, roasted asparagus, green beans and mushrooms. We also…

I had to chuckle at this..... Hubby wants me to help him lose weight. I told him he needs to take charge of himself. Then I relented and said "Well, get in the kitchen and I will help you to whack up some lunch in about 10 minutes." He made out boiling a few frozen veges was difficult - did he need a measuring cup? how…

It's really quite surprising that when packed properly just how much food that can be put into a container... Bigger isn't necessarily better. Great snack box btw SpecialKitty7

A dehydrator. I don't use it as often as I'd like to, but when I do..... Love it, love it, love it.

When it's time to let go, you'll know. How you let them go is up to you. Personally, I organised a wardrobe swap with friends and family before passing them on to 2nd hand shops. I ended up with a few pieces that I wouldn't have considered otherwise and a great excuse to catch up.

Depending on my mood, I probably would've responded with "And for you too!" or "if you say so." When I stare at my co-workers lunches it's because I want some..... Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've had to share many a half capsicum with co-workers for the same reasoning haha.

Definitely yes to sweet potato skins. I also like roasted pumpkin skin

I reckon the next time you see a cricket bar OP, buy it and try it. :)

I can't follow a recipe... I have had a go at it. I will look at the ingredients. Study the techniques but I go off on my own tangent every time. Probably because I look at the ratios, and then I substitute e.g different flours, sugars or fats or we mightn't have crucial ingredients e.g bicarb or baking powder. It helps if…

I use to keep an 'emergency lunchbox' in my locker - cuppa soup, nuts, dried fruits, tuna and crackers and a shelf stable meal or 2 with a bit of loose change for a drink the days that I would be so busy that I'd leave home without having breakfast, no lunch, no dinner and only prunes in my bag.. Of course remembering to…

Hubby has it. He believes juicing works well for managing his symptoms. He mostly does beetroot, celery, lemons, ginger and carrots. Mind you, he doesn't like veges so it's the only way he will have them. I've tried to chat him into blending but he wont have a bar of it.
